Description from the owner

This beautiful 18th century spacious village house is simple, practical and romantic. It has a large south facing garden with trees for shade and a wonderful view of the village. The house is user friendly and ideal for a family or just one or two people. The house was renovated by an artist who liked large rooms and lots of light. Originally 2 houses, there are 2 staircases and the top floor with a Romeo and Juliet balcony can be accessed separately.

The house has the advantage of being extremely private yet in the village, and you can walk out of the house into glorious countryside. Within an hour's drive you can reach Nice, Cannes...Read more

La Maison musicale - Allegretto tranquillo

Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in August 2010

Some key notes: a beautiful restoration, eccentric, rambling, intriguing, good quality strong materials. Ancient wall on the road and you enter through a solid door with sturdy lock, and go down a step, as if into a secret. Pleasant pergola - good to eat beneath, peaceful garden - good for writing or painting, resplendent african palm - good to admire. Fine views of the hills from upper floors and lots of light and space. The chiming of the village clock-tower: a calm sound under the night sky. The village: restaurants - La Gloire de Mon Père, under the trees, fountain tinkling beyond, has it all - besides a wonderful name and a wonderful menu. Max Ernst - there's the museum but don't miss the miniature Lop Lop on top of his column, lost on the edge of a car park. Further afield: around Nice, a feast for visual artists - the Chagall Museum (so many canvases from all periods of his life), Matisse's chapel (stained glass windows of profound blues and yellow florets) and the Fondation Maeght - Chagall again (a vast canvas summarizing his almost 100 year life), great crowds of Giacometti figures, Miró all over, surrealist gargoyles spouting merrily into the garden pools. Old Nice is itself a work of art - as are the pizzas.

      Great for the price

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had a lovely stay here. A bit rustic, but very homey, a fine kitchen, just a few minutes walk from the village. Wonderful restaurants in the area and a very peaceful atmosphere. A favorite for my wife and me was sipping a glass of wine while on the Romeo and Juliet balcony of the top floor in the evenings.

Sophisticate and charming residence on the top of the plane

Left on 12/04/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This extremely charming residence from 18th century is the
perfect place to relax. Far from stress and noisy environment you are able to enjoy your holidays in the heart
of one of the prettiest villages of France. Three well appointed floors offer a very warm and sophisticated atmosphere combining provencale and english elements of style. In the garden you will find a huge range of flowers
and enough space to celebrate breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Preparing the meals you will miss nothing in the perfect
arranged kitchen on ground floor. From the upper floors
there is an outstanding view overlooking the lovely land-
scapes around. Bathroom with bath-tub, extra douche and three toilets also help to make your stay comfortable. Very
convenient seems to be the fact that this unique house on
the top of the plane is situated only 3 min to walk to middle-aged town-center (smart restaurants, shopping, church, museum etc.)and only 40 min by car to Cannes, 50
min to Nice or 25 min to Grasse.

      charming house

Left on 11/16/2011 for a stay in August 2010

this is a easy, beautifull place to stay and relax. You have enough space on three floors and a large garden, the kitchen has all facilities you need. And it is only 7 min to walk to the restaurants in the center (marketplace) of this quite, charming and typical Provence-village. In Seillans you don´t find too many tourists, and it is only 20 Min to the lake and 45 Min to the beaches (Fréjus etc). Also a perfect area for hiking, culture and excursions.
