      Entspannter Urlaub auf Island

Left on 06/18/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Zusammenfassend:
Super Haus in schöner zentraler Gegend. Tip: Wer fit ist kann auf den Burfell hoch. Es gibt keinen Weg, aber man läuft über Moos und Steine. Auch für Kinder, super aussicht, ca.2h bis oben.

Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013

The "cabin" is a beautiful and spacious home with a huge deck, large bedrooms and a well outfitted kitchen. Its location between Thingvellir and other sites like Kerid and Geysir was perfect, as was its nearness to the town of Selfoss and Eldhestar's Volcano Horses. The owner responded quickly to our inquiries, provided lots of information for local attractions and is clearly eager to make visitors feel welcome. Only wish we had spent more time here than in Reykjavic.

      Excellent home for our trip!

Left on 04/08/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The Cedar Log Cabin was a great place for our family to call "home" for the 10 days we were in Iceland. Excellent location to many adventures in south Iceland -- a different direction everyday!

We were 8 adults and one baby travelling together -- an adventure in itself! The kitchen was well organized and everything was provided for us to be able to create meals to share together around the large table in the Great Room.

      Relaxing and peaceful

Left on 03/29/2013 for a stay in March 2013

The cottage is in a great location for exploring the golden circle area of Iceland and has everything you need. It is conveniently close to Selfoss for supermarket shopping but feels nicely secluded. We very much enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, especially at night to view the stars and when it snowed.
The only criticism we have is that we would have preferred a double duvet for the double bed rather than 2 singles.

      Perfect Iceland Base

Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We'd been planning a northern lights trip for a family of four and destination was the main issue. We decided on Iceland as the boys are young and there seemed more activities for us to all do, plus it was a lot cheaper than Lapland. Next dilemma the accommodation, we wanted somewhere close enough to Reykjavic but far enough away from light pollution that should the fabled northern lights appear we wouldn't have to venture out. Cedar Lodge stood out and it proved the perfect base. Great location near to Selfoss and nestled away on the hills providing stunning all round views. The kids loved all the toys supplied and we loved the open plan layout, cleanliness and facilities provided. The cabin is lovely and warm and the hot tub with it's views down to the river is great - who needs a TV!! Alas the cloud cover during our 4 night stay prohibited any sightings of the northern lights but we take back many more memories. Geysir, Gulfoss and Pingvellir are all in easy distance of the cabin and worth the trip. We did the Elding whale trip from Reykjavic but only saw dolphins but they did alert us to the fact the herring migration had gone further north. This spurred a 6 hour round trip to Grundarfjorour to go on the Laki whale watching trip - instant success, around 90 killer whales in the fjord - now that makes any trip special. Would we go back to Iceland, absolutely yes and we would also go back to Cedar Log Cabin. Great house, great country and fantastic trip. Thanks to Robert for all his help on directions and the booking, a very friendly, helpful host!

      amazing

Left on 02/25/2013 for a stay in February 2013

The location of the cabin cannot be beaten, in the golden circle area. 5 mins from Kerid crater and 20 from Thingvellir. If you are looking for a home better than home experience this is the cabin for you. We could not believe our luck at finding the perfect base for our dream trip to Iceland. Cedar Log cabin has everything you need, and even the things you don't realise you do. Mr Gunnarsson has really thought about this. He even provides the kitchen roll, cooking spices, Dvd's books, games etc. He personally greeted us and gave us lots of very useful verbal and printed information. What a guy, nothing was too much trouble.
Perfectly located and not overlooked for watching the northern lights from the hot tub, or just from the decking if you prefer.
Even though we'd seen the pictures, we couldn't believe this was our cabin for our stay. Absolutely fabulous.
Beautiful area, cabin with great views and 10 mins from Selfoss.
If you are looking for a fantastic holiday home, stop wasting time and look no further

Obviously people arrive at all times of the day and night. If the owner is at the Northern Light Inn hotel he does his best to meet people personally at the hotel. This is not always possible but the owner can be contacted at all times .

Great cabin, great location and excellent value!!

Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few days at the beginning of the new year and we have to say it more than lived up to our expectations. The location is simply amazing, very convenient for day trips around the golden circle and only 15 mins from Selfoss if you need to pick up supplies or go out for dinner. I'd expected the cabin to be surrounded by others but the nearest one was probably 100 metres away, you really are by yourself out there. The cabin was clean when we arrived, and has all the facilities you could need. Only two of us stayed here but there were two other bedrooms in the main cabin itself and one in a small separate cabin just opposite (with its own heating), so you could easily have 8 people stay here. The hot tub deserves a mention too, as we had some great evenings sat out there with a glass of wine staring up at the stars. The cabin was set up on a hill so the views are great too, and as a result you are not looked over by anyone. The owner Robert was very accommodating with our arrangements, as we had to pick the keys up from Reykjavik and also had to leave the cabin at an awkward time in the morning for our flight home. All in all this was a great little find, and amazing value for a country which is generally expensive to say the least. I'd highly recommend it. Thank you Robert!!
