What a lovely relaxing place this villa is... Nice quite place , but close enough to get a taxi for 25,000 to Legian or anywhere just walk up to the Gourmet Cafe to get taxis... House was lovely and cool with 3 air conditioners, 1 each room and lounge room... Had everything you could possibly want or need there... Great pool, comfortable sun beds, lots of towels, which were cleaned when villa was cleaned. Connie & Made who pick you up from the airport are next door, what beautiful, beautiful people, they also do day tours or drive you anywhere you want to go... They are a credit to this Villa...My only slight whinge would be better cleaning in bathroom with bath tub in it... Apart from that, fantastic, great, will stay again... Thanks Bob :)

Bob's is in a lovely quiet location but fairly close to restaurants, cafe's and shopping. Connie and Made next door were great neighbors and very helpful, as were Nyoman and Wayan. The villa is great in hot weather as the living room is closed in with aircon and fan. The bedrooms had the same which made living and sleeping very comfortable. The pool is a really good size for swimming and shaded sun lounges for resting outside by the pool were great!

We husband, 3yr old daughter and I stayed at BBH for 5 nights in November 2012. Connie & Made picked us up from the airport and they are absolutely gorgeous & helpful. Made then drove my husband to Canggu to surf every morning and because they lived right next door it was so easy to organise! I am absolutely obsessed with the location of BBH...walk 1 min down the gang to jalan petitinget and you'll reach Sarong restaurant, then another couple of minutes and you're at amo Spa (best mani, pedi & back massage ever with Fashion TV playing in the background), W Hotel, Biku, Potato Head etc. If you walk the other way down the gang...about 10 mins & you're at Petitenget Cafe & the beach. Or there a trillion cabs to take you anywhere for $2! The actual villa is pretty basic but has everything you need - it is really well stocked, even with items such as fly spray, torches, umbrellas, books, sun lounges, beach towels, sun hats, dish washing liquid & vegemite! Great sized fridge meant we could chill the wine we brought over & purchased from the wine shop near the markets behind ku de ta. I also really like the fact that the living area didn't open straight out to the pool, that we could actually close & lock the doors and I could relax knowing that my daughter couldn't wander out to the pool on her own. We'll be back!!!

We had a great girls holiday to remember. Being to Bali 5 times and always staying in a resort this was going to be a difference experience for us. From the moment we were picked up from the airport we loved it. Connie, Made and Tiwi were great. Nyoman was waiting at the house for us and we felt very welcome. The house is great and it was the little things that really made a difference. The Wifi and getting your washing done is such a small thing but really does give a villa(house) a huge advantage over a resort. Clean sheets and a comfy bed along with lovely fresh smelling clothes was great. A couple of dollars taxi ride to Kuta and Legian and the peace and quiet of Seminyak makes this house a great choice. Thanks to Bob and Jan we loved every second and would not think twice about coming back it really is the little things that matter. Thanks again for a great holiday. Kathy and Leeanne

We stayed in mid august.Bobs place great value for money, comfortable and clean. Location was great near restaurants and only 5-10 mins easy walk to the beach. Connie and Made next door hep us with tours and also airport transfers they are great people.

I was having hard time to find a villa / house to rent in Bali especially during the high season , July - August cause the price is outrageous during this periode.
I spent hours and hours looking till it brought me to flipkey and found Bob & Jan's house which is exactly what we need. A quite peaceful place to be after a fun - tiring day outside . The house location is great , easy to accès yet very quite and relaxing. Walking distance to petitenget beach and in another 10 mins you will get to seminyak , legian and kuta beach. Restaurants and cafes are close by or it's only 1.50 au$ to seminyak road by taxi . Wayan is very cools and friendly guy , Nyoman kept the house clean and he helps us lots too in order to make our stay pleasant. Connie and Made the neighbor next door are wonderful . We were having great time and we are definitely coming back and stay there again . We are looking forward for our next holiday . We've found our perfect home in Bali. Thank a lots Bob and Jan .

Bob's House was fabulous. Everything we needed was there. The bed's were comfortable and the linen was fresh. Nyoman & Wayan did an excellent job without being intrusive. They were a delight. Connie & Made next door also were great people. This part of my trip was the relaxing part as I had already done the touristy running around. The villa was perfect for that. Every day was spent by the crystal clear & clean pool. Having fresh drinking water on hand was also an added bonus. Location was good. Close to Gourmet Cafe for breakfast and Potato Head for those fabulous cocktails. Having the small warung across the gang was also an added bonus. Thank you Bob & Jan, we had a great stay and I'm sure we will again in the future.

Best set up and organized villa I have stayed in during 9 visits to Bali. From the very first email to Bob enquiring about our stay till the moment we left everything was perfect. Bob is an awesome owner and person to deal with on every level, Connie and Made (and lovely family) are perfect as property managers they are great people and don't push themselves on you and leave you to relax without interference and then when you do need assistance (transport, questions, tours etc) they are available immediately and look after you well. Villa itself is perfect for a couple or up to four people, it's has everything you could ever want. There is no negative whatsoever to do with this property, owners, staff, facilities and villa 10/10. From 3 x 32 yr old surfers from australia we thank you and the crew for everything Bob.

Comfortable stay

Bob's Bali house was a fantastic place to stay for our short trip to Bali. We stayed there for 5 nights. We flew in of an evening and our flight was delayed by over an hour. I was in email contact with Bob and he let the Driver Wayan and the house manager know so that they knew to expect us later. Wayan was there to pick us up at the airport and the house manager was there to great us after midnight when we arrived. The air conditioner was on and the beds were freshly made - heaven!
The property was a bit smaller than it appeared in the photos, but that was fine by us, we were really after a cool comfortable place to sleep and shower and a fridge to keep cold water in.
Both of the beds were very comfortable and freshly made for us on our return each day. The bathrooms were adequate, the toilet in the main bedroom didn't flush well which was the only draw back for us, but the toilet in the second bedroom worked fine.
The pool could probably have used a bit of a clean, but it didn't deter us from swimming, after a day out in the heat the water was divine, I just didn't put my head under.
The Wifi access was brilliant and we were able to use our ipads to talk with our family every evening.
The location of the Villa for us was perfect as it was a little bit out of Seminyak, but a very close walk to the Bali Gourmet Cafe where we had breakfast each morning and also very easy to catch taxi's from when we didn't have a driver.
I think what appealed to us most was the privacy, there was a secure gate and we didn't have to share the facilities with anyone else unlike you would have to if you stayed at a hotel. As we were early risers the previously mentioned rooster in other reviews didn't bother us, but we did hear him!
Over all I think it was a wonderful place to stay and was great value for money. If I was returning to Seminyak again I would definitely stay there again.Response from Bob & Jan - 04/20/2012

For our second trip to Bali we decided to try a villa instead of a hotel, which turned out to be a great move. Bob was very helpful through email correspondence before our trip, answering any questions we fired at him.
The villa was clean and comfortable and in an excellent location, within walking distance of lots of great eating and drinking locations. We particularly enjoyed Potato Head, La Luciola and the Gourmet Cafe (excellent for breakfast).
Connie and Made met us at the airport as promised and were very friendly and welcoming. En route they took us via the Bintang supermarket for some provisions and the currency exchange, which saved us time later.
Both bedrooms were comfortable, although in bedroom one there wasn’t a ceiling fan and the air-con tended to be a little noisy intermittently; but nothing a pair of ear plugs wouldn't solve! Ear plugs would also have muffled the vociferous neighbourhood cockerel who didn’t seem to have a set time to make his presence known, although any time after dark seemed a favourite!
The bathroom off bedroom 2 was large and the big bath looked lovely, although we didn't use it as the bathroom was very warm and we had mosquitos due to there not being a door to the small outside storage space off it and the recent rain. The bathroom in bedroom 2 was a little snug and would have benefited from shelves for toiletries.
The kitchen was well equipped, although we only used the fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, but it seemed to have everything needed if you wanted to cook something. Finding a cafetiere in the cupboard was a bonus for fresh coffee.
Overall a great stay in Bob’s Bali house and we will definitely be rebooking in the future.
Recommendations:
Pack a bright torch as the lighting is very limited in the surrounding streets. Torch light makes your walk back from a night out a lot less stressful and helps avoid falling down holes or in deep puddles.
Don’t forget your mosquito repellent spray to keep the little blighters at bay.
An umbrella comes in handy and ours did get used, but there were 2 extra in the villa if we needed them.
Finally, don’t forget your hand sanitizer! -

We stayed at this beautiful home in Bali. It was exactly that - a warm, clean, very appealling home in a great location. The owners have gone beyond and above what they need to provide.The owners could not have made it any easier to book. We will definately recommend this to all our friends and will stay there on all our visits to Bali. Very reasonably priced and we loved everything about our stay. Beautiful private pool - location was fantastic - close to all the beautiful restaurants in Seminyak and close to the beach.You will not be disappointed.

Arrival Pick Up
The pick up by Connie and Made was great and as expected. It was particularly helpful that they took us to the Bintang Supermarket to get some basic supplies - Bintang and coffee. They also took us to a trustworthy moneychanger. The airport transfer is a real bonus and makes the arrival so easy. One recommendation - if we had known in advance that Made and Connie had a tour business I would have booked something with them in advance.
The Property
The property is lovely and clean. We had a third person join us for 4 nights and the staff were able to provide an inflatable bed that was perfectly acceptable according to our friend.
Some Minor Suggestions for Improvements
I mentioned to Bob that the toilet in the main bedroom needs some repairs. It simply does not 'work' e.g. flush, when you compare to toilet in the 2nd room. The 2nd bathroom needs a vanity or medicine chest for personal items. Hooks for hanging towels for both bathrooms would be nice.The cupboards and drawers could use a bit of a clean out / re-organisation but that is just from a woman's point of view. The air con and fans worked fine. It was great that there were items like mossie spray/coils, incense, fly spray, candles, and even leftover toiletries from other guests such as sunblock and some food items/condiments. Certainly not Bob's responsibility but it would be great to know that in advance so you know what you need or do not need to bring. These are just small things that make a big difference.
Location
The location is great to access the excellent restaurants that Bob and Jan recommended. It was a bonus that we could walk down quiet and traffic free Gang Telaga Waja to reach Bodyworks Spa and to reach the beach area, thus avoiding the busy Jalan Petitenget road.
Beach, Spas, Restaurants
We did not spend much time at the beach - compared to the beaches in australia it just does not rate. Instead the spas and local massage and beauty treatment shops were our focus as were the restaurants. Loved ENY Organic Warung (awesome shredded chicken with lemongrass) and Kolega (under $3 for a great lunch.) For NYE we chose to buy some lovely food and wine from the Bali Catering Company including prawn and mushroom ravioli, pumpkin ravioli, and lasagne. Chilean, Spanish, and aussie wine topped it off, much better than spending a heap of $$$ on a set menu in a busy restaurant, in our view anyhow. Oh we found a new place too that we liked, Vignando Winebar, brand new, run by a Sardinian woman. Offers free Italian tapas with drinks. I'll include pic with address, but it is close to Bodyworks Spa. We also tried aMO Spa, within walking distance and next time would try Sentosa Spa for a splurge. Dinner at Sasa' ristorante on eat street which was good.
The think I least enjoyed was the never-ending firecrackers. It occurred every night. I am not sure if it was because of the holiday season or some manner to scare off birds??? It was over the top on NYE but hey, that is certainly not Bob's responsibility and would have happened anywhere.
Activity Recommendation
Halo Bike Tour through the countryside was amazing. Long trip from Seminyak but well worth it.
Bottomline is I would return and recommend the villa to friends and family. Not sure about kids though. Thank you for a wonderful experience. -

Bob's Bali House is in a great location with plenty of options for food nearby. It is not far to the beach however it would be helpful to have a local map in the villa with our location on it as we seemed to take the long way to everything! The villa is a perfect size for four people and if you need any help, Connie & Made next door are wonderful.

The villa is in a great location but we only discovered how good when we explored the area. It would be great if there was a local map in the villa as it would have saved us a lot of walking! There are plenty of great places to eat nearby and the beach is a long walk away if you don't get good directions. The people next door are ready to help you whenever you need it which is pretty comforting. Would definately recommend staying here.

Villa is compact but comfortable with 2 seperate bedrooms with ensuits.
Private walled courtyard, garden and pool.
well equipt kitchen plenty of towels, linen etc. All cleaned daily by Wayan or Nyoman both friendly and did a good job.
Great location. Quiet but still close (easy walk) to beach, fantastic restaurants,
spa/massage services etc.

Bob's Bali house was in a perfect location for our holiday stay. We travelled with our two teenage daughters and had a fantastic family holiday. The house was clean and tidy and as described on the website.
Nyoman and Wayan were just wonderful coming every day to clean and supply fresh towels. They were great to chat to and were very helpful advising us on different things like eating out, shopping etc.
I have been to Bali several times in the past 20 years and have always used hotel accommodation. Not anymore. Living in the local area was a great experience and one we far preferred to hotel accommodation.
Thanks Jan and Bob. We have already started looking at next year's calendar to make a booking.
We highly recommend Bob's Bali house to anyone who is after a care free Bali holiday.

We stayed 10 days in Bob's Bali House and really enjoyed our time. The sun lounges and pool were terrific. The privacy of the villa was excellent. While the bath in the main bathroom was very big, the hot water service wasn't sufficient to adequately fill the bath. Nyoman and Wayan came every day to clean and tidy and did a great job. Both were very friendly and helpful. We did however, seriously consider murdering the rooster across the road on the first few mornings but soon got used to his wake up call each day.

The house is a bit smaller than it looks in the photos, but it is very good place for long holidays or just a short break. The only minus is that there is no space for long-chairs around the pool, so tanning is easier on the beach. If you have small children - pool is a bit dangerous. Its great for couples/friends. Location is good, House Managers - very nice local family, you can count on them . Great service & help. Cleaning was done every day, towels changed every day...Enjoy your breakfast at Gourmet Cafe , Drink at Potato Head or Kudeta, great food at Junction. All is walking distance from the house. For Yoga lovers - absolutely fantastic yoga studio just across the street - Jiwa yoga. Best place in Bali for Bikram & Angie (the owner) is wonderful. If you like nice people around,enjoy to mingle with expats living in Bali, not just tourists, good restaurants - This House is perfect. Seminyak is definitely one of the best locations in Bali. If you can - avoid staying in Kuta. I will definitely be coming back to Bob's House.

Wow we had the best time, villas are certainly the way to go!
You had everything we needed there and more ! - even down to umbrellas for when it rained - which were a lifesaver haha.
Nyoman and Wayan did a great job looking after us and kept the place very clean and tidy :) They were exceptionally friendly and helpful to.
We really appreciated Connie, her husband and Made picking us up and dropping us to the airport. They were right at the entrance to the airport with their sign so very easy to find :) They were certainly friendly to! :) and the cutest baby :)
Haha yes we tried Eny warung around the corner unfortunately didnt get time to order the fish and pig - time goes so fast!
We did sample a few restaurants in the immediate area - the one directly opposite Eny was very interesting (apparently it was previously a home) and yummy food to and the one next to it heading towards the villa we went several times to also.
We couldnt have been happier in your villa, thankyou for allowing us to stay there.

It's all about location and Bob's Bali House is excellent located in a small gang (street) in a partly local area. Very close to the beach and close to all the best restaurants in Seminyak. The house and compound is quite small but sufficent for 4 persons. It's a very cosy and charming house and i have been renting the house for the last 7 years. I would not stay anywhere else!

Bob's Bali house enjoys a good location with easy acess to everything,beach,food and drink,beauty therapy.The holiday house is very home-feeling house where I wish I could stay for months.
The unexpected satisfaction is anne's Restaurant nearby where we had various local home-made meals at very cheap price,and bought organce eggs and vegetables home as well.Bob and Jan's neighbour runs a travel agency and arranged various tours for us.
