Nice villa but service and amenties needs a big improvement

Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We stayed at Villa Kiki for 9 nights in January 2012. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. The villa is in a great location, close to Jl Dupadi and Jl Dyana-Pura. Lots of good restaurants in close walking distance. Dyana Pura is very noisy at night and you can here the thumping of the music at night.
The villa is a good size with a good sized pool. But that's where all the positives finish.

The service we received from our maid was nothing my appalling. She barely spoke any English and basically did nothing the whole time we were there. She came in the morning to make breakfast, made the beds and left. Never saw her again for the rest of the day. She sat in her unit (which is next to the villa) and slept all day. The towels weren't changed unless I went and tracked her down to change them. Because we had a lot of rain whilst we were there the bathrooms get wet as they are open to the elements. Wet towels lying on the ground still didn't give a hint that we needed new towels. The floor was not swept or washed at all. We had a replacement maid on the Sunday as it was our usual maid's day-off and the replacement maid was fantastic. She was there all day and was constantly asking us if she could do anything for us. We have stayed in other villas in Bali and this was the service that we were use to. So besides the maid, the villa advertises free laundry, well ony if it's sunny. There is no dryer, so if it's not sunny the maid won't wash clothes. The owner needs to seriously learn from this, you cannot advertise 'free' laundry if there is no dryer when is showered or rained every day that we were there. I think this is why there was a lack of towels and they couldn't be washed and dried because the sun wasn't out.
There is also a safety issue with the maid not being attentive, it rained a lot and because this villa is completly open to the elements the marble tiles are wet and therefore very slippery. My children fell on several occasions and we were trying to find enough towels to dry the floor but the maid should of been there to mop after each rain shower.
Now to the lack of amenties:
      - no mosquito coils or controls of any kind. I was told that I need to pay for these and nothing was to be provided.
      - no umbrellas
      - the smallest TV I have ever seen in a villa
      - no stereo or ipod dock
      - no microwave
      - no hairdryer
      - no telephone
      - the wifi - as advertised in included - wasn't working for 3 days
      - bathrooms had the worst showers I have ever seen. As soon as you turned them on you wet the floor and the toilet

I think a lot if the problems are a result of the owner not wanting to spend any money. There is no way I will be back at this villa, there are a million villas in the same location for the same $ that are heaps better. The service and amenties really let this place down.

Also, the villas advertises 24hr security - which was a must have for me - we saw the so called security guard once in the whole 9 days - what a joke - I would shudder to think if we did actually have an issue what we would have done with no phone and no one to call as I tried calling the manager on several occasions firstly to report the wifi not working and again to get a doctor for my son and they never answered their phone or returned my sms.

      Manager

Sorry to hear about your bad experience of villa Kiki what is for us difficult to understand your opinion .It must be the bad weather during the start of January 2012 who put you into a bad mood and made you stay less pleasant , but no reason to blame it all to our wonderful staff who has good comments from all other guest who are well trained and always on call to help you out .
But your behaving must have scared them of and they try to stay away from you what most of Balinese people will do in what ever villa you will rent down here.
Villa Kiki is located in the residential area at the gang Rukun (dean end street ) where we manage several rental villas and has always two security guards 24/24 present and will check out every person who looks suspicious walk inside this dead end street. But will always keep some distance from the villa when guest are present to offer you the privacy if you did not understand that.
Free laundry has been always worked out fine and most guest understand that during the rainy season is could be sometimes difficult to get it always immediately dry.Villa Kiki also has mosquito protection , large TV screen and hairdryer and fast Wifi connection. So no need to put on more untrue information, but some things son get broken and a simple demand to our staff and it will be replaced and you must have got the wrong number of the villa manager otherwise must issues been sorted.

A private, tranquil and well appointed villa

Left on 07/09/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The Villa is private, quiet and not overlooked, lovely to stay in with attentive, informed staff who are happy to help (if required). Two bedrooms open directly to the garden/pool, great for an early morning swim. Smallest bedroom has doors from the living area, no pool view, mosquito net over bed a little claustrophobic - wigwam style - would benefit from being of the same style as other bedrooms, ok for child.
All furnishings are of good quality and kitchen is well equipped. Attractive garden area around pool.

Only downside, bathrooms (Bed 1 & 2) have slatted doors to the outside (back of Villa) and are a perfect place for mosquitos! The doors need to have mosquito netting over the door to stop the mosquitos coming in - it is a dark, moist area which attracts them in - Two of our group received many bites in the bathrooms. Advised staff and they put deterrent in bathrooms. This does need to be addressed as the bathrooms are of a good size, but you seriously do not want to spend time in them! Bed 3 has open area (between top of wall and ceiling) in bathroom, therefore allowing mosquitos in from outside in the evening - again this could be easily rectified easily with netting.
Main bedroom needs mirror. Could benefit from additional Tv's in at least one bedroom. Occasional flights can be seen and heard, but not an issue.

Although my comments above re the mosquitos is lengthy and does need addressing, I would recommend staying in this Villa. The location is within walking distance of eating places (ask staff to write address in Indonesian in case you loose your bearings at night) and shops. We all enjoyed our stay. It is a good location to travel from for diving or to Ubud (the art/craft area/ rice terraces) which is well worth doing.
We all enjoyed relaxing in the Villa and thought it good value for money.I would return if the netting was added. Our group consisted of couples and singles aged from 26 to 60.

      Fantastic villa kiki

Left on 11/22/2010 for a stay in October 2010

Stayed at Villa Kiki at the end of October for 1 week.
      Beautiful large pool & gardens.
Ari the housekeeper is very friendly and helpful.
10 mins walk to beach, and 2 mins to restaraunts. Very quiet villa.
The only drawback is that they advertise it as a 3 bedroom but is only actually a 2 bedroom. Still, is only $200 a night and is superb value for such a great villa. Will stay there again for sure.

      Relaxing and well situated.

Left on 10/17/2010 for a stay in October 2010

My husband & I and my parents stayed at this villa (also known as Villa Kiki) in October 2010 for 7 days and had a great time. At first I was a little worried as the Villa is down an alley, but the location ended up being fantastic as one way down the alley was the restaurant La Sal which has lovely food and is a great place to grab a taxi and down the other way is a direct link to the main street with great shopping and more restaurants, bars and cafe's. Another really great restauraant is La Lucciano on Seminyak beach.

The Villa is very spacious, beautifully furnished and the pool is wonderful. The Kitchen is fully sticked with ever appliance you could ask for and there is even free wifi, a great sized flat screen TV and a dvd player\stereo with great speakers.
The 3rd room is a great reading room and has aircon and a book case with books from several languages.
The staff were great and the free daily laundry a god send.
We had a fantastic relaxing holiday and I would recommend the Villa to everyone :)

      Wonderful Villa Kiki!

Left on 07/19/2010 for a stay in June 2010

We had a great stay at villa Kiki from 17th of June till 3th of July 2010. The villa was wonderful. The staff took care of all or needs during our holiday. We gave the staff free choice of planning our in villa meals. Worked great for us, as we always found the food tasty. Only thing we had to do during our stay was to decide how to spend the days. We can fully recommend this villa. Extra plus for good value choice.
