Loved this Villa!!!
It was great to stay in a Bali villa with a huge backyard and a modern spacious living area. Huge bedrooms and gorgeous outdoor bathrooms.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
The location was perfect for us and being at the end of the alley it was very peaceful and quiet.

I booked with Sitara Villas after doing my research online and reading rave reviews from previous guests. Villa Taman Rahasia was the villa I chose that best met our needs and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Central to everything Seminyak has to offer, I enjoyed staying here so much that I extended my stay by 5 days!!
Originally intending to travel with my husband and 3 year old daughter, my priorities were finding a self contained, private villa that was close to a wide range of restaurants, cafes, boutique shops as well as the beaches. Travelling as a family - it was also important that we were in a villa that was both quiet, safe and secure - Villa Taman Rahasia met all these requirements.
As it turned out my husband could not make the trip due to work commitments so my best friend travelled with my daughter and I instead... The three of us had a fabulous time on our own and felt completely safe and secure the entire time...
Apart from the thoughtful layout of the villa and the private garden and pool, what set Taman Rahasia apart from places we had stayed previously were the wonderful, friendly staff.
Soleil (Villa Manager) and his wife Fenny did a wonderful job in making us feel welcome. Seeing the smiling faces of Fenny, Soleil, Eppi, Megan and Newman every day really made our stay that much more memorable. Nothing was too much trouble.
Fenny developed a special relationship with my daughter who absolutely loved spending time with her... (so much so that she just wanted to stay at the villa and play with Fenny all day!). I had never left Scarlett with anyone other than family before - but I trusted Fenny with her and she babysat for us on a number of occasions which meant that my girlfriend and I got in quite a few shopping trips and dinners!
I highly recommend Cafe Bali, Biku, Chandi (for lunch), Sardine for a special dinner, and PotatoHead, Ku de Ta and Cocoon for afternoon cocktails and great music (kid friendly during the day).

My wife and I are in our late 50's and with a similar aged married couple (they were first timers to Bali) we booked in for 8 days at Villa Taman Rahasia. What a great relaxing time from the cooked breakfast every morning to the afternoon swim in our own pool, everything was perfect. The Villa, pool and the yard was cleaned and maintained every day. The staff couldn't do enough for us, even letting us extend an extra night when our departure flight changed. Chilled water on tap and a self contained kitchen allowed us to look after ourselves when we didn't eat out. A Mini Mart is just across the road and has an aTM. There are plenty of delis in Seminyak giving great food choices.
We tended to eat out a lot as everything is within walking distance, but it may check if you have to book as most eateries are pretty popular. Recommend Black Canyon at Seminyak Square for good food, and don't forget Rumours in Laksmana Street, great spot.
The ladies really got off on spa facials and massages, just kept on going back. Try The Care in Kerobokan Road just up from the Sunset Road junction - reasonable prices and very clean - spotless presentation and service.
Villa location is a short walk (15 min) to Seminyak Square (if you don't get distracted with all the shops)and a short taxi ride into Kuta. Transport to and from the airport and a day tour of Mt Kintamani thrown in by Villa staff, capped off a very enjoyable visit to Bali.

The villa is at the end of a short alleyway that opens up into a paddy field so you really do get a sense of space and peace once you are off the main road.We loved the fact that the villa is not overlooked and is very private despite the fact that the owner has the property next door and another a couple of hundred metres away.The gardens are delightful, again with a sense of space.So many villas in Bali now seem to be built so close to each other .
We didn't meet the owners but the staff were very friendly and obliging.We had a problem with the internet one evening but Soleil fixed it for us when he popped in the next morning.
Breakfast was fine ,fresh fruit and pancakes if you wanted them.
The villa is reasonably close to the restaurants in Seminyak.We had no problems catching cabs and often walked back to the villa in the evening.The villa is situated on Kerobokan road and is opposite a T junction with Jalan Braban which is handy to know for the taxi driver when dropping you off.We did spend a couple of times cruising up and down Kerobokan road as we couldnt remember the exact location of the alleyway leading to the villa. That says more about our sense of direction though than anything else !
The villa is very clean,nicely furnished and homely and the beds are very comfortable.
A couple of things could do with a little update if I wanted to be really picky.For example the shower head could do with a descale so that it doesnt shoot out at the odd water jet at the wrong angle.In case people think I am mad I did have to play 'dodge the water jet' to avoid getting my hair wet.Wouldn't be a problem for my husband as he hasn't got any!

Hidden away down a quiet 'gang' or alley off the busy Jalan Kerobokan, the Villa Taman Rahasia was a quiet oasis to relax and rest. Set beautifully in a large walled garden, with the indoor/outdoor feel of Bali-style villas, great pool, lots of sitting areas, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and super-friendly and efficient staff, who even prepared our breakfasts to order!

A perfect way to settle into the New Year! Firstly, the villas are stunning, we had seen photo's but once we stepped inside we were literally shell shocked. The place has such a peaceful yet luxurious vibe to it. The pool was great, we spent several days happily lazing by the pool, reading and enjoying the sun. Although you are in the heart of seminyak the villas are situated just slightly away from the busy streets giving the beautiful landscaping and luxurious space the justice it deserves!
The staff were fantastic, very friendly and respectful of your privacy, yet always happy to assist in any way possible.I highly recommend the pancakes and freshly squeezed juices in the morning.:)
For anyone looking to get away from there everyday routine and seek some R&R; this is the place. Will be back next year no questions asked. ***

From the moment we entered Villa Taman Rahasia (the secret garden) we felt relaxed and at home. Linda and the wonderful staff couldn't be more helpful. Beautiful breakfasts of fresh fruit and nothing was too much trouble.

We couldnt think of any other way to have a great family holiday so we could get quality family time we needed. The Villa was so well equiped and serviced we were not desperate to leave and do a lot of sight seeing. Bali is a perfect place to have a relaxing holiday and the Sitara Villas made it even more perfect. Thank you to all of Linda's staff, they couldnt do enough for us and were fantastic with our 3yr old. Seminyak is the best area as a family to stay as well as the eating and shopping is great, which Linda is willing to guide anyone in the right direction.

This being our first trip to Bali my wife and I were a little apprehensive of what we would find. We need not have worried as from the moment we were picked up at the airport until the time we were dropped back at the airport we were thouroughly spoilt. We had late arrival and departure times and this was no problem. The villa met and exceeded all our expectations the photos did not do it justice. Being at the end of a Gang (lane way) there was no trafic noise. After a day out sightseeing/shopping our pool was a sheer delight set in its own lovely tropical garden with frangipani and mangoes. The location was good, away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Legion both being only a couple of dollars taxi fare.

This place was amazing. Although a little 'out of the way' (which we quite liked), just a quick and cheap taxi ride got us anywhere we wanted (I expect Scooters would be a great idea). This place was immaculate! The staff were amazing, so very helpful, and happy to provide anything you needed. There was a pre-order shopping basket on our arrival (needed Bintang as soon as we got there of course!) And even had a beautiful Indonesian Meal ready for us one evening when we arrived home. Really couldn't fault it, and recommend it highly

From the minute we got picked up at the airport to the time we got dropped off at the airport, the service was perfect. Having never been to Bali we were unsure of where we would stay. The location was superb...far enough away from the main streets of Seminyak and Kerobokan to have a peaceful stay yet close enough to enjoy the main streets and attractions. the staff were amazing, nothing was too much effort. the villa was perfectly cleaned every day and the breakfasts were a great start to the day. We also enjoyed the stay in dinner service which was amazing! Both bedrooms were excellent size and quality, no fights over who stayed where. The garden area was fabulous for relaxing during the day and the pool was an unbelievable relief from the midday heat. I would definitely stay here again when I go back to Bali. Thankyou to Effie, Ash, Soleil, Fennie and team...amazing stay...I just wish it was for longer!

Villa Taman Rahasia was a well appointed two bedroom self-contained villa with it's own private swimming pool. I travelled with my husband and 11 year old daughter. The villa had two large air-conditioned bedrooms both with their own garden bathrooms. Each bedroom featured a very comfortable king-sized bed. The onsite staff were extremely hospitable and cooked breakfast for us each morning and serviced the villa daily. The only issues we had were that there were alot of mosquitos (particularly in the bathrooms - although they did burn mosquito coils), the sofas in the living area were quite uncomfortable & the floor plan meant the bedrooms weren't close to each other and you had to go outside to go from one to another, which for an anxious child was a bit scary in the dark. Only an issue to consider if travelling with children.
The villa was a little away from the main area of Seminyak, but within walking distance or short taxi ride. The villa was very private behind tall walls and features a lovely garden & pool area. The service we received by the staff was probably the highlight for us. Nothing was a problem for them, including assisting when we required medical attention. Thank you for your review - we appreciate all feedback and realise that, after a year of guests, we do need to have the sofas re-stuffed as, like everything with Bali, things seem to suffer and even deteriorate far more quickly than in non-tropical places!
After an intensely heavy rainy period the mosquitos did increase dramatically in Bali and the solution we've now found is to do the 'fogging' far more regularly - so the next time you stay we certainly should have dealt with both issues

Upon arrival to "Taman Rahasia" we were immediately greeted with the happy faces of the staff. This happiness seemed to echo through the beautiful secret garden which boasts a serene and eclectic atmosphere. As we explored our villa for the next 11 nights, sheer satisfaction began to grow as all our modern creature comforts, had been thoughtfully catered to. It really felt like a "home away from home”. The villa has a very personal touch, decorated with love and passion, just like your own home would be. One of the many fondest memories was our very first breakfast at the villa. The delectable Fenny (staff) breezed in with her contagious and positive smile. She delicately prepared the breakfast table with warm, fresh croissants from the bakery accompanied with mouth-watering, French butter and an assortment of jams. This was followed by a huge healthy fruit salad with yoghurt. It felt as though we had our very own Genie in a bottle with all of our wishes fulfilled. The villa is conveniently located close to trendy Oberoi Street, which houses outstanding food and fashion. A lot of the time however, we were happy to hang out at the villa and just relax. Thankyou Linda, Asher, Fenny and Soleil. We already miss you and can't wait to come back.

The management & staff at this peaceful hidden retreat were fantastic! From the beginning you are sent informative emails, along with offers to arrange food & drinks to be in your fridge on arrival, then when you arrive you are greated with friendly smiles from helpful staff. The breakfast although only a simple bowl of fruit was tasty & came with fresh strong coffee. The staff are happy to organise anything for you including shopping, clean what you want cleaned, nothing seems to be much of a problem. The kitchen had most things you needed. There was some insect lotion left on the bench on arrival & mosquito coils burning. The location was primo, backing onto a rice paddy field, in the morning you woke to the sound of rice being thrashed & lots of birds and insect noises. There wasn't too many problems with mosquitos, we just got some more coils and left them burning in various places all day. The 6m pool was great, a good size to cool down in. The 2 bedrooms each had their own bathroom which was good. The beds were comfortable and did not have those wooden ledges on them (the ones you bang your shins on in the dark) which was a bonus. The sitting area was comfortable, although the TV was mounted a little high, it did mean we could see it from all angles (Brisbane floods were happening at the time). Having stayed in a few villas in Semiyak we found this one to be our favourite and will return. The Bintang supermarket is not too far away, and has everything you need, there is a minimart opposite the drive, and taxis are fairly easy to get. You don't hear the traffic noise from the villa which is nice, and being at the end of the drive you don't get passing guests like some other villa set ups. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning.

The Villa is a little oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak.
The rooms are well appointed, each with it's own open air bathroom so you can get up close and personal with the local gecko population.
The pool was great too- perfect for post shopping dip. Heaps of room for lounging.

Had a great time in a really comfortable place with just the right amount of amenities. Pool, outdoor couches and overall setting were amazing. Great value and just far enough away from the action. Get really good directions, cause it's at the end of a quiet dead end road.

Thanks for your review Billy. I know - there's a general problem with what are called 'Gangs' - small roads off major ones. Whilst they provide peace away from the madness of busy streets, they are often tiny and hard to find (and most of the time not at all well signposted). We are in the process of having cards printed for all guests that have a map and directions that can be given to friends and cab drivers!

My sister and I stayed here for our first visit to Bali and feel that we lucked out by finding this little gem. It was close enough to the heart of seminyak but also discreet enough so we could enjoy the serenity of our villa. Linda, the owner was a great source of local knowledge and her recommendations made such a difference to our holiday. The staff were extra attentive, especially Soleil and his wife as well as the new laundry manager, Peter, which made the stay fell like we were visiting family. We will definitely stay again and have already enquired about our next visit!

Taman Rahasia is a peaceful getaway, in the heart of Seminyak. It provided an extremely comfortable and affordable stay, with a spacious outdoor area, garden and pool to relax after a long day out in Bali. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and make a wonderful breakfast to kick-start any kind of day.
It is a nice 15 minute walk from 'Eat Street' or an easy taxi ride away, where you can find all kinds of foods.

My partner and I booked this Villa event hough there were one bedroom villas around, as we joked that if we had an argument there was another room for him to move to. However who could argue in such a romantic setting? Behind large walls on the border of rice fields you enter the gate here and feel like you have stepped through a portal into another world! It's truly lovely!
At night all you hear are the cicadas and birds, and the wings of tiny bats as they dip into the pool. We enjoyed many evenings in the gazebo in the 'secret garden'
The furniture is beautifully tasteful - mixing modern glass, PVC, stainless steel, marble and granite with Island-style furnishings. For me (being 6'3") maybe the sofa is a little short and not a lounge per se but who can be too picky? Anyway there are so many cushions in the villa that it was easy to make it more comfortable.
The bedrooms are amazing - oversized king-size beds made from old day beds (yes, I am an interior designer by trade!) stunning long mirrors that look like they've come direct from Paris, and full length glass doors and windows opening onto the gardens. And the indoor/outdoor bathrooms - what can I say? Again, done with such flair and style using marble and local white stone, with European fittings. I could have spent hours in my bath int he garden!

Thank you so much for the review and for all your kind remarks! We took your advice on board and now have the comfiest squishiest 'cushion sofas' and armchairs in great funky bold colours. So not only do they add brightness and colour, but are also so incredibly comfortable that 6'3" can be draped beautifully over them. We took the opportunity to actually change a bit of the furnishings - so far not properly reflected in the pics (we're still waiting for it to be empty long enough to get new pics done) and this adds a real twist to the more traditional elements we had.
Finally, as everyone loves so much being more 'in' the garden, yet still inside, we're taking the opportunity - at the end of the month when we have a one week gap - to extend the living area out into the garden more. So there will be many changes for you when you return (the staff are thrilled that you're back in December)

It was so nice having such a serene home for the 3 weeks we stayed in Bali. After the shopping had worn thin, and the "hustle and bustle" aspect of Bali lost it's touch, We appreciated nothing more than our return to Villa Taman Rahasia, for a retreat into the beautiful scenery and calming atmosphere on offer.
The staff are excellent, accommodating and really friendly.
Decor was thoughtful, and very comfortable which really reflected the vibe of the place.
I sincerely recommend, that for those who appreciate relaxation, service and comfort and won't compromise on quality at your home away from home, The 'Secret Garden' is right up your alley!
My partner and I are discussing / planning our next trip now :) Sydney cold...Brrr. Thanks for the stay 'Secret Garden,' See you next year!

We were so pleasantly surprised by this jewel of a Villa. It has strong elements of Balinese decor, yet is blended with stunning contemporary pieces. We immediately felt at home! And the location is so central yet the Villa is so secluded, with high walls, backing onto a rice field, and a gorgeous established garden! The staff come in the morning to prepare breakfast, then clean and tidy and do the gardens. They are discrete and friendly and very helpful with information. Importantly for me - the huge king size beds are so comfortable and it's just the attention to small details that make this place so spectacular. We recommend Taman Rahasia to anyone!!

Taman Rahasia is beautiful. Full of luxury with attention to every detail. Peaceful and luxurious with wonderful amenities. I thoroughly recommend the Secret Garden for anyone. It's close to the heart of Ubud and very central for exploration of the area. The staff were particularly great and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

As a family, we stayed at Taman Rahasia (which truly IS a Secret Garden!!) and the owner's other villa. Our first choice as a family of 5 had been the larger villa which we stayed in for 5 nights, but on our return visit to Bali for 2 days before flying home, this villa was booked out. The owner suggested Secret Garden, and arranged a spare bed in the lovely large rooms for our son. This villa seriously didn't disappoint. A real treasure tucked away down a long lane, alongside a rice paddy. So beautifully quiet, yet so central. At night we sat in the gazebo int eh established tropical gardens and had cocktails, with the sounds of birds and frogs. In the day the garden is full of birds and butterflies and is a real nirvana to return to after a busy day in the Bali streets. You can't go wrong with this villa, or the others owned by the Australian owner. Highly recommend a stay!

Having spent many years traveling to Bali and experiencing all aspects of acommodation from 5 star resorts to Club Med Bali to private Villas I have to say that our stay at 'Secret Gardens' was very special and one that we are keen to repeat. On arrival we were greeted with not only a spectacular rice paddy field at our back door but beautiful tropical gardens that gave us a feeling of space and tranquility amongst the hustle and bustle that is Bali. The pool was so inviting we wanted to jump in straight away and the layout of the villa was extemely well thought out, the two bedrooms were seperated by the relaxing family room and kitchen with all the best amenities including a coffee making machine. Our favourite haunts whislt in Bali are Ku De Ta and La Luciola both fabulous venues for sunset sippers and great food and are only a quick 2 minute bike or cab ride away from 'Secret Garden'. What we loved the most was the high quality decor in each room and the peace and tranquility, as well the staff were very accommodating to all of our requests. We have stayed at the owners other property's and have no hesitation in recommending 'Secret Garden' for a truly enjoyable experience whislt in Bali but just don't spread the word as it realy should remain a well kept secret...
