BrisbaneGreat Villa, Great Location - Highly Reconmend
Left on 06/10/2013 for a stay in June 2013
A good friend and I literally just got back from 8 days in Bali, staying at Villa Pitou the entire time. The villa is way beyond expectations (the photos just hint at its beauty hidden beyond the Villa walls), and I would recommend it to everyone wanting to experience a quieter side of Bali living, but still remaining close to all the action/shops/restaurants. Taxis to central Seminyak are around $2aUD, to central Kuta around $3aUD. There is a quick walk to some amazing local shops, spa's, restaurants ("Sardine" being the highlight), cafes (I highly recommend "Habitual" café a 3 minute walk away, try the coffee and brownies, and thank me later), and warungs.
The awesome staff, Made & Putu went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, relaxed. Made gave us great friendly advice on where to go and what was close by and also helped organize a driver to pick us up from the airport as well as for a couple of day trips with Wayan, who was a fearless, fast and great driver, as well as reasonably priced. Putu's breakfast was the highlight of every morning, her great coffee/eggs/baguette/fruit and her friendly smile and conversation were always welcome.
The villa was beyond comfortable, and always kept immaculately clean. The pool is incredibly relaxing, sparkling clean and heaven after a day out and about in the heat. The bedrooms are so comfortable, the mattresses awesome, each bedroom has an outdoor bathrooms that are fantastic, the air-conditioning is great (and much needed, even in June) and the wi-fi was the best I experienced in Bali. The living area is comfortable, open air and beautiful (especially at night). The classy understated design of the villa and its interior made it hard to find the power to leave and face the hustle and bustle of Bali outside its front door.
I highly recommend the Villa as a great escape from the built up areas of Bali and their hotels.
Big thanks to Made and Putu for making our holiday fantastic at Villa Pitou.

PhilippinesNicely furnished villa for a family
Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013
The rooms are nicely done - big and comfortable beds with enough space for closets and a safe. I like the bathroom - comfortable, big, and with a view of the night sky. The pool is big enough for a family and very clean. The wifi is fast and reliable. The breakfast is a nice baguette with butter and jams and some fruits. But if you are staying longer it will be good to have some variety. Made and Putu are a bonus, they have been very nice and helpful to us. Made even played with your our son so we can have a peaceful breakfast :)
The place is a little far off although there are nice warungs near the villa.
Also it will be good if there are other options for payment like paypal. The bank transfer is costly as it incur bank charges by the local bank when depositing money plus additional charge by the receiving Indonesian bank. The 2 bank charges are shouldered by the guest.Response from Thierry - 05/16/2013

Hi Donnah,
Thank you for your comments and we make every effort to ensure that your stay is as pleasant as possible.
We are aware that the costs of banks are very high! But i already try to do with Paypal, the fees are more high than a bank! And above all there is no one to settle for potential problems such as if you made ??a mistake! (You must repay with still large fees ...).
I hope to see you at another time,
warm regards,

Hi Thierry. Thank you so much for a great experience your staff were absolutely delightful, helping over and beyond for us. Your establishment was fantastic and quaint and all four of us enjoyed the surroundings especially the cafe/restaurant close by. The only two suggestions would be that there be TV channels available in the rooms as sometimes it would of been nice just to relax and watch some tv instead of putting on Dvds. Also as it was so hot being wet season we found the sitting area to hot with only having that one fan over head that does not reach you while sitting in the lounge.I think if we had maybe some pedestal fans would of been handy. All in all we loved it and would recommend your villa to all our friends visiting.
Thanks

We were extatic that our rooms were apart as both men snore lol and I had somehow assumed that the 2 rooms were joined. Anyway the rooms are fantastic. Heaps of Cds and music. Great aircon. Loved the outdoor bathrooms. All very clean. Rooms are much better than the photos portray. Heaps of wardrobe space. Tons of privacy from other room. Good shutters and both doors lock to your room and bathroom area. Spacious.
The villa is all you need for a stay in Bali. The location was perfect we thought. We had scooters but nothing is far away anyway.
Villa is in a great spot. You feel like you are in rural Bali with the surroundings of the rice paddies etc, but really only 2 min walk one way is a busy street and 5min walk the other way takes you to Jalan Pettinget where it is full on and the beach is not too far either. Plenty of eats and fantastic shops and I mean plenty!!! Walk, scooter or other transport, who cares because this location is spot on. You are not far from Seminyak at all and if you feel like jumping on your scoot and having a bit of a no agenda sightsee up the coast, you will end up in Canggu not really too far away. Absolutely lush and looked like a beautiful area to stay in.
Pool is very clean...a big plus we thought and was used considerably...it was always warm at night and with the heat of Bali the pool still remained refreshing through the day.
There is no noise to complain about just the usual Bali sounds..occasional scooter, chickens, birds and 'windmill' thing in the rice paddy up the street. Absolutely quiet as. We were the noisiest definately!!!
Privacy is respected totally...another plus. Made and Ketut go about their business around you and your needs. Whenever, whatever really. They are both friendly and welcoming and able to assist in many ways to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Breakfast is served when you require it which is fantastic. Basic and yummy. All that you need really.
Recommended highly..Thanx Made

Just finished my family vacation stay here in Villa Pitou. The place is a gem in Seminyak next to padi fields away from the buzz of main Seminyak area. A place where my family had complete privacy to oursleves while receiving pampered hospitality by Made and Pity when we required assistance. The pool was excellent place to relax and to have family fun and my kids thoroughly enjoyed their daily fun time at the pool. Special thanks to Made, Putu and Thierry who had made our week stay a special one and not forgetting our driver Neuman.

Villa Pitou was the first stay in a Villa in Bali (have been to two other resorts, Royal Beach Seminyak and Padma Resort) and it quite a change. As we were with another couple, finding a great villa where both rooms were equal (i.e not one master and a second inferior room) with their own ensuite. The living space was open with bali style fittings and furniture. There was a kitchenette and dining table. The salt pool was a brilliant highlight, our hosts Made and Putu were always accommodating where they could be and brought our breakfast every morning when we were ready for it.
The location was a little out of the main area - a nice relief from the hustle of Seminyak however getting a taxi did require about a 10 minute walk though a small road through the ricefields. Dark at night but safe. The Villa is actually built on a sectioned off area at the bottom of the French owner's home which made for excellent assistance if needed. I think the best part was the fact that we could relax in private without other people, loud tourists and screaming kids. I would stay at Villa Pitou again. Thank you for a lovely visit to Bali!Response from Thierry - 02/29/2012

My husband and I stayed at Villa Pitou for only three nights before heading off to Ubud. We arrived late in the evening to be warmly greeted by Made who then went on to make our three days exactly as we needed them to be. In fact Made made our stay in the villa.
The important things for me about the villa are that it was not a prefabricated experience, it offered lots of privacy, was super clean ( even the bathroom) the bed was fabulous and the garden and pool were very relaxing. One morning I walked out the door of the villa to be greeted by one of the farmers herding his 'gaggle' of ducks from the rice fields so I guess aside from Made and the beautiful Putu the most enjoyable feature of the villa was it's location, we actually got to see a bit more of the traditional way of life of the local Balinese rather than the strip mall approach of Kuta and Seminyak but it was still within striking distance of those two shining examples of western influence if that is what you need.
Oh and Putu and Made assure me that the breakfast baguettes are the best in Bali.

Villa Pitou is absolutely perfect! My friends and I had the most wonderful experience. We are three young professional women who were looking for a relaxing yet cultural trip and Bali and Villa Pitou were amazing. The villa is gorgeous, immaculate, and perfect for 3 - 4 people. The rooms are a large size, the outside showers are divine, and the salt water pool could not be better. Excellent décor and the villa is beautifully maintained. The villa is little outside of central Seminyak but a short cab or 15 - 20 minute walk can get you to the beaches and central Seminyak. A 24-hour mart is less than a 5 minute walk away. Raga Massage (we went almost every day) is a 5 minute walk away.
However, the best feature of this villa is the staff. Made and Putu were incredible. Made went above and beyond the call of duty and scheduled tours and cabs and recommended the best local eats and shopping. He arranged for tour for the three of us from 8 a.m. in the morning to 8 p.m. in the evening with his brother that only cost $15 each!! We went to Mount Batur, the rice fields, Monkey Forest, coffee plantations, shopping, Ubud, and so on and so forth. Made also arranged a great trip to Lembogan. He and Putu would deliver us breakfast each morning (coffee, fresh fruit, baguettes, etc) and they were absolutely delightful. We really miss them.
Great value, very clean, safe and comfortable. Thank you Made, Putu, and Thierry - I cannot wait to visit Villa Pitou again!!

Villa Pitou is a well sized villa suitable for 2 couples or a group of friends holidaying together. Villa is very well maintained, and has all the facilities of a luxury resort. I was especially appreciative of air-conditioning in the bedrooms as I was not used to the extreme heat. The pool was also handy for our morning and midnight dips (after an extremely satisfying dinner)
Villa Pitou is also located to the best restaurants (Ku Te Da, Sardine, Sarong, Sate Bali, Potato Head etc) and shopping in Bali, though I disagree with "within walking distance". However, it's only a short taxi ride and cost no than 25,000 rupiah - that's less than aUD 3!!!
The highlight of the stay was definitely the presence of housekeeper Made! Not only was he extremely friendly and helpful, all recommendations (restaurants, shopping, spa etc.) made by him were of excellent value and quality! Our brief morning chats during breakfast also gave us an insight into the local's life.
In summary, 2 very enthusiatic big thumbs up for Villa Pitou (and Made of course!)!!! -

On entering Villa Pitou the warm welcome was the beginning of a relaxing, restful week. The villa was sensational with two beautiful, clean rooms and outdoor bathrooms simply but stylishly furnished. The open living area was refreshing as was the infinity private pool where we spent much of our time swimming amongst floating frangipani flowers. Made and Putu could not do enough - an amazing array of fruit, baguettes, coffee and scrambled egg breakfast greeted us daily when we were ready. Things to see and places to go organised by Made. Nothing was too much trouble. Putu even sewed on a button for me. Two beautiful people with warm smiles and hearts. It was hard to leave the Villa but Seminyak was a walk or 10min cab ride away. Within easy walking distance was Raga Massage and renowned restaurants Sardine and Metis. We left the peace and tranquility of Villa Pitou relaxed and recharged. It was sad to leave but we will be back. Thank you Thierry, Made and Putu. It was Balinese Bliss.

Left on 05/28/2011 for a stay in May 2011
My Husband and I, together with our 2-year-old daughter stayed at Villa Pitou for 2 weeks. What a pleasant experience. The Villa is simply but stylishly renovated, and equipped with everything the guests may ever need,e.g.huge collection of CDs and Dvds, menus of the nearby restaurants, and even mosquito incense. They also helped arrange a baby cot for our daughter before we arrived. They really have thought about everything! Every morning we got a continental breakfast, freshly prepared by Made or Putu (the staff). We loved baguette and the fresh fruit plates. The (saltwater) pool is nice and well-maintained. My daughter stayed in there almost all the time. Made, the housekeeper, who is very nice and helpful, offered us a lot of good tips for tours and restaurants. Putu, the service staff, always cleaned the house very thoroughly and sometimes babysat our daughter, so that my husband and I could enjoy the wonderful spas and dining out late in the evenings.
The villa is not located on the major streets so sometimes it might be a problem to catch a taxi but of course the staff can help call a taxi.
The open kitchen / living room (no walls in Bali !) includes basic stove with pots, toaster etc. - but no microwave. There is a fridge which can stocked (either by taking a taxi to local supermarket or walking 5 minutes to the next convenience store). -

Little out of the way but thats what make this villa a great choice. The staff are great, the service great, the pool is just perfect to cool off and relax. A short walk down the road past local village shops then 200 metres along a car free laneway and you will find the mini mart, resturants and not too long before you will be in a taxi to anywhere. But back to the villa review, everything you need and more, tv with dvd in both rooms, more dvd's than you could watch in a year to choose from.Very private yard, very safe, to sum it all up i would be disapointed if we could not stay there on our next trip to bali. Thank you Thierry, Made(madie), Putu and the gardener for a great part of our holiday. We hope too return soon.

Away from the tourist enclaves and yet easily accessible to eating places, the villa did not disappoint us at all. On the contrary, we we delighted with the spaciousness, peace and tranquil location near a padi field.
The villa has everything that is needed - drinking water, welcome fruits, tea lights and even torch light for emergencies. The owner has thoughtfully and artfully furnished that place. It was very comfortable for the 4 of us. Our teenagers had a great time playing in the pool.
The service was excellent. We were picked up from airport as arranged. We were welcomed by Made the housekeeper even though we arrived at night. He took good care of us and prepared daily breakfast throughout our week's stay. Made was always responsive to our needs and eager to please. He shared many tips and info about Bali. He made our stay not only pleasant but also meaningful.
The villa is a good respite after each day's activities or even just "staying home" to relax. -

For a group of friends or a family I couldn't think of a better place to stay. Despite being in Semanyak, we felt very secluded in this lovely Villa - maybe because a rice patty separates you from the main rd. There were a number of things that made it so nice:
- The service provided by Made, the assistant to the home was great from the moment we arrived. We lost our safe key and he showed up within 10 mins
- Having our own pool was great (compared to a hotel). - - Daily breakfast of fresh baguettes, tea/coffee, fruits, etc
- Great attention to detail (the guy who owns it is an interior designer).
Anyway - all roound it was perfect and I only hope it's free next time I'm in Bali
Enjoy! -

I would definitely recommend Villa Pitou for any people who want to find great loacation, excellent services and calm.
The staff of Villa Pitou is amazing and very discreet but always available. This is very appreciated. Continental breakfasts are delicious with some local fruits.
Pool is beautiful and the two bedrooms with aC and private open bathrooms were perfect for our stay.
The 2 tenants are adorable and available for any pieces of advice about anything in Bali.
thanks a lot for these 2 weeks in heaven, we would definitely come back !
