      good

Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Nice big villa with beautifull garden.
      Easy access from mainroad.
Nice for bring you dog with you (dogfriendly staff).
Large people look out for the l50 cm accessdoor to the bathroom, maybe better take a bath in the nice and large swimming pool.
As a couple (honeymoon) stay at least 3 nights so you can try all very nice bedrooms.
Put the music a bit more loud so you will not hear the traffic outside.
Staff is verrry friendly but always on the property and so forget to have a naked swimming. the staff not accept when you want to give them some extra holidays.
When you want to feel back in time with 24 hour staff who like to treat you as a king or queen then this is the right place.
We had a nice time in villa Kelapa.

      Tropical oasis with impeccable service

Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Our stay here was Fabulous. The staff were eager to assist with absolutely everything and service was impeccable. A short cab ride to kuta (under $5 with bluebird cabs), and away from the hustle and bustle. Made and Carlo made our stay perfect, and we would definitely stay here again. Clean, private, and very secure, with security cameras and security guards overnight. We even left our laptops out on the couch without fear. Fresh fruit and tea/coffee every morning, impeccable cleanliness, and traditional Balinese feel made this the perfect home away from home. Note: Bring copies of your passports, as Made will ask for them to report to police. Under Indonesian law, you must be registered with indonesian police as guests at a private villa. Don't be concerned, this is standard practice for private villas. Transfer from the airport was seamless (even though we were over 90 minutes late). In all, a wonderful place to stay for couples, families, or a group of friends wanting to party. Loved it !!

      Price-quality very good

Left on 11/20/2012 for a stay in October 2012

      Hi Bas,

What a fantastic villa you are having!!! All the comforts you need for a great holiday are there. The staff is very helpful and friendly and Carlos is a master in preparing fruit cocktails. This, the nearby beach (beautiful) and night live, made it an unforgettable week.

Villa Kelapa laat U meteen thuis voelen in Bali.

      Stylish but not overdone

Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed for a week in Villa Kelapa, 6 adults and 2 (small) children. We had a wonderful time! When you enter the premises of Villa Kelapa you immediately feel at home. The villa really gives you the ‘Bali-feel’. It has all the comfort you need, the bungalows and the main house are very spacious and (kept) clean, there is a separate nice little dining area, a spacious (open) living room and a lovely big, well kept garden with a good sized swimming pool. Everything is simple, but stylish and not overdone with nick-nacks. In our opinion the house was even more beautiful in real life than what we expected from it after looking at the pictures on the website of the villa.
The staff is very friendly, they are not obviously present, but are there when you need them. The food the staff prepares is absolutely delicious. The Villa is conveniently located, it is only a short (taxi) ride to Seminyak. The only disadvantage I could mention is that the villa is located near a rather busy street, so you can hear the traffic at times. All in all we had a great experience at Villa Kelapa and we can highly recommend it!

We staid 1 week in Villa Kelapa. We = 2 couples. Very friendly and helpfull staff : they are all very discrete but always there when you need them. House, garden and swimmingpool are clean and cleaned everyday. House is close to the center but not too close, which means that it is rather quite. We really enjoyed our stay, nothing else to say !!

an oasis in a hectic surrounding

Left on 12/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011

the service is great, especially the food is well prepared (delicious indonesian) and served by Carlos, the friendliest waiter in Kuta area.
The main house is comfortable, gives the feeling to be at home and because of the huge garden you have the feeling to stay in the middle of nature.
Thanks to the high walls the traffic noise seems far away and at night its a quiet place to stay.
The location of the villa is quite central, about 5 minutes walking to the mainstreet for shopping and dining and 25 minutes to the beach.
Positive is the free wi-fi and free laundry, less is the comfort of the guest rooms compared with the main house, but the owner is planning to improve the rooms.
All in all it was a great place stay and definitly I will back next time.

      Good value budget villa

Left on 07/31/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The villa complex is set in secure, lush grounds with a nice pool. There is a main villa with a typical, very comfortable outdoor lounge and 1 bedroom upstairs. There are 2 straw chalets in the grounds, both comfortable and with en suites. One chalet has a single bed in addition to the double. The grounds are surrounded by high walls and a night watchman is in attendance. Furnishings are simple but tastefully done. The bed I used in the main villa was comfortable. I really liked the lounge, where I read books swinging in a hammock. I didn't find the breakfasts to my liking but it mattered not - the Bali Deli is a short walk away, where great breakfasts can be had. I guess the reason the villa was relatively inexpensive was the traffic noise, as its high walls bound a road on one side. The noise is the first thing that stikes you on arrival but is not so loud as to cause discomfort (mopeds going by every few seconds). In fact, after a little while I became accustomed to it. The staff were all very helpful and not at all intrusive. The location is on the edge of Seminyak - a taxi or hired moped ride to Seminyak's best restaurants - but there are others within walking distance. I would stay here again if the price was right - which it certainly was when I booked at the last minute.

      A piece of paradise

Left on 06/06/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Villa Kelapa is heaven on earth for people who want to experience the real Bali: there's a main house, two guesthouses, a swimming pool, bale, kitchen, laundry room and very friendly people who take care of laundry, food, cleaning and maintenance of the property. The garden is tropical and lush with many birds, butterflies and squirrels- and quite some mosquitoes as well. Cook Putu makes delicious Indonesian or western style food on demand (you just pay for the ingredients) and Carlos serves delicious cocktails, with or without alcohol. We felt truly spoilt here and can't wait to return!

Cooling off after a day of shopping in Seminyak!

      Oasis in a busy location

Left on 02/10/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Villa Kelapa is a nice compound, beautifully decorated and maintained. Lovely pool and greenery. Surprisingly quiet despite location next to busy road, although it takes a little getting used to the sound of the motor cycles in the early morning. We were served delicious breakfasts and dinner and the cleaning and laundry service provided was impeccable.
Some practical tips for improvement: We did miss some proper bed side reading lights and an extra fan to cover both sides of the (non aircon) bedrooms would not be a luxury! Also, we were swarmed by mosquitos in the evenings; a little more pest control would do wonders. Finally, we would have like to find a good city map accompanying all the great tips shared by the owners.
Other than that, a wonderful getaway to relax and enjoy!

Good location just outside the buzz of the city, at walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach, very convenient. Garden and pool are excellent and beautiful. Our week in Villa Kelapa was very relaxed. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Especially Carlos will be remembered, not only for his great cocktail-making abilities, but more so his ever present smile and service-mindedness. Do ask Putu to cook, best Indonesian dishes we have on the island! At home we missed the tiny frogs, lizards and squirrels that accompanied us. A truly tropical and relaxed way of celebrating Christmas, we were reluctant to leave.

      Great, super service

Left on 01/14/2011 for a stay in February 2010

Staying at Villa Kelapa was great. The service was super and the cook excellent. He created the most delicious Balinese meals. And what a treat to have somebody doing your laundry, making you coffee and cleaning the villa. So much better than staying in a hotel: your own place to stay with even better service. Details: only the master bedroom is airconditioned. Other bedrooms have a fan. With really small kids it's hard because the three bedrooms are spread over the compound. It's too dangerous to let small kids sleep in one bedroom and that you sleep in the other. When they wake up during the night and walk through the garden they can fall in the pool. But overall excellent!!

      At home in Bali

Left on 01/13/2011 for a stay in January 2010

This is even better than home! It's only a short ride from the airport, and as soon as you enter the gate, it feels like home. I have been here five times now, and can't think of a better way to avoid the cold and sad weather in wintery Holland.

In many ways it is better than home: the staff that is taking care during the stay is so friendly and kind: taking care of the pool, housekeeping, the famous cocktails by Carlos in the early evening, or the heavenly meals cooked on request. Make sure to try the Pepes Ikan (fish in a coconut sauce and cooked in a banana leaf).

Sometimes I do'nt even leave the Villa for a day or so. Just spend time at the pool or do some work. (internet available)
If you want to get out, staff can help with arranging taxis or a car and driver for some nice tours.

The complex (which you rent entirely) consists of a beautiful traditional Balinese villa with a lounge, a master bedroom with a/c and spectacular open air bathroom, plus there are two bungalows with private bathrooms in the garden. So it's ideals if you spend a longer period with friends. Everyone can have their own little place and you share the garden, pool and lounge. Needless to say there are no other guests than you and your friends or family.

There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby (Hanna, Japanese being my favorite; excellent diner for two at around an amazing US$ 25!), shops at Seminyak and Legian are just around the corner. The beach is just a short ride by taxi (US$ 2) or a 20 minute walk or so.

If you are in need of some food to remind you of home, then there's the Bali Deli and Bakery a few minutes away, offering delicacies such as Sacher Torte, croissants, wines from around the world and so on.
