We stayed for a week in this lovely villa in Gang Mangga.
For two ladies travelling together it was perfect. Not too far to walk at night to dinner and the lane is well lit. Lovely staff and a nice size pool. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. -

Perth, Western AustraliaIdeal location and all the amenities for a super family holiday
Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The Bali Family Villa is by far the best place I have stayed in Bali. The best features of the villa are; the huge pool complete with kids paddling end, the vast assortment of bits and pieces available including kids games, floaties, kids plates, cups, spoons, high chair, portacot etc, the staff (Dewa and Oman) were incredible, the location is excellent and the spacious layout. The lunches cooked for us for a few dollars were amazingly delicious and I felt really spoiled. Being so close to the Bali Deli and Bintang was great for dashing out to pick up groceries, however Rusia was more than happy to pick up anything we needed. Rusia and Yukiko were helpful and accommodating and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and easy. I would stay at the Bali Family Villa again and I would recommend it to anyone with a small family. If you do stay at the Bali Family Villa be sure to dine at Warung Jerami across the road, fantastic traditional menu. Thanks to all for a wonderful family holiday, we are planning our next trip already.

PerthFantastic 5 star stay in seminyak
Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This property exceeded our expectations and we have
Stayed in Bali 12 times before this. The last 5 in seminyak.
The property is very large and private and meticulously clean and
Has every conceivable thing you could require whilst holidaying in Bali.
We stayed for one week and couldn't fault the property, the 3 staff , the location and it cost half the price of the other 5 star villas in the area.
We will never stay anywhere else in Bali again except here as it is the best Bali has to offer! Thank you to yukiko and Rusia and the 2 other staff who made us feel like kings and queens. We are most grateful.Response from Yukiko - 08/18/2012

Perth AustraliaA Truly Great Villa ! Excellent Location & Fantastic Value for
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Booking the villa was easy with all correspondence with Yukiko prompt, professional and fully detailed. The villa is located in a prime location in Seminyak walking distance to shops & restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the beach or a very short taxi ride. The Villa has everything you could possibly need and there are many added touches that make it even more special. The pool is much bigger than most other villas in Seminyak and this was one reason we booked it. The best thing about the villa without doubt is Rusia & her two staff who are wonderful and can help with any requests you may have. They kept the villa so incredibly clean & tidy all day long. Thank you for a great stay & we will definitely return on our next trip to Bali !.

Thsi was our first time in Bali, and Bali Family Villa 1 was such a lovely place to stay. Even before we arrived in Bali the owner Yukiko was so helpful, I asked her many questions and she always replyed back very promptly.
The villa is exactly like the pictures show you. There is alot of space, a great pool and it is very private. The breakfasts provided by the staff are so lovely and very enjoyable.
The service was just unbelievable from our pick-up at the airport through to the stay at the villa. Nothing was too much trouble, and Rusia, Yunita and Komang made the stay so wonderful.
We were very sad to leave and hope to go back and visit again one day.
Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay in your lovely villa.Response from Yukiko - 07/17/2012

Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Our family stayed here in March. We contacted Yukiko at the last minute and were lucky enough to get an opening, it all ended up great. Ayu's cooking was fantastic and having breakfast poolside every morning is certainly what Bali is all about. I can't say enough about the location, we were able to wander out to cafes and shops on the main street and the pool kept the kids entertained while us grownups had some good relax time. We picked Seminyak based on friend's advice, and would consider it an excellent location, a great place to begin our daily outings and a great place to be on those days when we want to stay in and relax. No complaints whatsoever. Thanks again Yukiko and everyone!

JapanPleasantly surprised... very nice villa in the heart of Seminyak
Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012
I booked this villa for my friends visiting Bali, and I must say I was positively surprised about the services they were offered and the overall quality of this villa (location, facilities, decor, staff, etc), especially after having read the only review left by their previous guests on their listing page. I have been living in Bali for the last 5 years and am often asked by friends and relatives to book a rental villa for their stay in Bali. The friends I booked this villa for were the first timers to Bali and they wanted all the conveniences in an easy walking distance but didn't want to stay in the middle of Kuta. Anyone who's been to Bali would know how difficult it is to find a location like that.On top of that, the villa had to be suitable for their small children while being quiet and central at the same time! This villa is located inside a secured alley shared with a 5 star resort, just a minute or two walk from Bali Deli. As I live in Kerobokan which is not so far from Seminyak, I went to have a look at the villa on behalf of my friends for an inspection before booking. The housekeeper and the local manager greeted me at the villa when I turned up and gave me a warm welcome and a quick tour. I often drive through Jalan Kunti where this villa is as it's the main street of Seminyak, but had no idea there was a villa this spacious with a large garden and swimming pool in such a central location. While it's not for people who prefer the high-tech/minimalist style, the villa has been done up in a very cozy/tasteful modern Balinese style with all the mod cons. I would only recommend it to families or close friends because of its layout, but it is certainly a good value for money and the location is amazing. Needless to say, my friends' family enjoyed staying at this villa immensely for both its location and warm service they received from the staff. I will definitely book this villa again for visitors, especially if they are coming to Bali for the first time.

I don't have time to go into a really big review here but this place was such a let down. I am happy to be contacted by email if I can answer any questions.
I in no way felt we received a good value for the money we spent here. I am an american living in asia for the last 5 years and have traveled on many asian holidays. This was our worst family vacation in asia to date. We spent a large some of money getting to Bali and to have the accommodations be so far below expectations was tough to take.
A/C was only available in the bedrooms. All common areas had inadequate ceiling fans. Impossible to lounge around and relax with the extreme summer heat, high humidity and terrible mosquito problem. Bring your repellant and after-bite meds.
Not enough towels and no shampoo. One small bar of soap provided at arrival and that was it. (Had to buy our own!) The master shower drain would back up and flood the large open air shower if a heavy rain was falling. This explains the slimy shower floor and the necessity of wearing flip flops whilst showering. 2nd floor bath was on the same level as that in a youth hostel.
Ayu the cook was wonderful. Happy, sweet and a warm smile. Amazing Balinese cooking.
We weren't able to make our Christmas feast because the oven was not in working order. Also, all the Christmas cookies and cakes that the kids were looking forward to preparing was not possible. Had to lug all those materials back with us.
Stairwell with no railings + 2 year old = anxiety I could have done without.
Beach was a good 20-30 minute walk away through streets laden with seedy bars. Not exactly where I want to push my baby stroller around. Not that I could anyway as the sidewalks were in such a poor state.
Again, please contact me if you have any questions.Response from Yukiko - 03/01/2012

I am literally shocked by your review. I received a nice thank you note from your friend shortly after your stay, and now over two months later this very negative review of not only our villa but of Bali in general. First things first, your friend made the original booking of our villa for his family of 5, this would have been an ideal group for our villa. Later, he contacted me to include your family of 4 as well. I explained that this would be a very crowded situation and I explained in detail our exact bedding configurations and villa details in an effort to avoid any misunderstandings. He let us know that both of your families were okay with this situation and he agreed to a minimal additional cost for the extra family. At this point I began inquiring about the details of your group so I could be sure that we were adequately prepared. Your group continued to ignore my emails asking for even the most basic information such as arrival time and exact dates. After repeated attempts to communicate with your party, it became clear that your group was just too irresponsible and we decided it would be best to cancel your booking. Your friend finally responded and pleaded to keep the booking and my mistake in taking your group was that I actually felt sorry for you.
To the points of your overly negative review, there were no inquiries on your part about our oven or anything else in particular, this is precisely why we try to communicate with you. Regarding the living room and the bathroom being open air and not air conditioned, it is very clear from the pictures posted on our listing and both are very common in Bali. You obviously didn't study (nor asked me) about the climate here either, but December is the hottest month during the rainy season in Bali. The whole island has mosquito problems, and for that we do provide an all natural repellent in the welcome gift box for each guest, which also includes an all natural herbal soap for -each- guest. If you were so worried about your child and our staircase, you could have chosen to stay in the bedroom downstairs? Also, this villa has never been advertised as a beach front property, and streets are in bad condition everywhere in Bali, even around 5 star resorts. I'm not sure which beach you tried to walk to, but it is very insulting and rude to call our neighborhood "streets with seedy bars". The villa is in fact located in the most prestigious part of Seminyak with many 5 star accommodations as neighbors. Your review confused me greatly since I believed that the nice thank you email from your friends' family was to show us your appreciation for putting up with a broken bamboo fence, two broken door locks and a disgraceful lettered stain your children made on our beautiful terrazzo counter. Please choose your traveling companions and destinations more carefully for your next trip.
For those who are considering our properties, please read the reviews we have received for all the properties we manage and see that this particular review is self-centered and out of step with the comments we typically receive from our guests. We run our business with pride and joy to offer homey, stylish and memorable accommodations to our guests with our highly professional staff.
