Great location and price is right!

Left on 05/10/2013 for a stay in October 2012

We found this place via a friend and because of it's features and location it fit our needs exactly! Check in and out was smooth, the pool was perfect for cooling down, and getting here from and to airport was easy via taxi!

      Wonderful!

Left on 05/05/2013 for a stay in October 2012

This place was like a island in the midst of so much action. Even though it is located in a busy touristy part of Bali, it is tucked away down a leafy street that cuts the noise, yet is within easy walking distance to everything! The management is great! They are ready when you need them, but not hovering around when you want privacy. The kitchen has all you need, the living space has an open, spacious feel and the pool is private. Naturists will love this place! The bed rooms and baths are large and the beds comfortable and everything is very clean. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Perfect fit for me with that kick back feeling reminding me I'm

Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in September 2012

I stayed at Villa aqua for 2 weeks last September and meant to do a review of this fantastic gem, but didn't get around to it until now. I have plans to return again this Sept and thought to do a review now.

What I love about this villa - casual, relaxing ambiance, comfortable beds, great private pool, nice managers, good location, and reasonably priced. Because the managers, Brenda and Biondo are close by, I never felt concerned over things like security. And if you need assistance or help in any way they couldn't be more accommodating. They can arrange everything from tours around the island to recommendations for getting a good massage.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who wishes to get away from the crowded hotel scene but still want to have their creature comforts. It's a good large space for a family, but also romantic for couples

Nice place to stay, even in rainy season

Left on 04/08/2013 for a stay in January 2013

I went with my wife Catherine early January. First, if you have a choice of when to go to Bali, January should not be the first one - as it's rainy season. And it rains a lot.

However, the manager, Brenda, make sure that we had umbrellas if we went out walking, and even loaned me her husband's spare rain poncho to when I went on my rented motor scooter.

Brenda was really nice and helpful. She gave us lots of useful tips and recommendations for the area.

There is a collection of Dvd's,and the wi-fi is fast. Surprised how fast for the 3rd world.

Brenda also arranged a couple of day tours with her driver/guide. The guide was great -- very helpful and knowledgeable. -- and made sure we didn't overpay for stuff, or have any 'surprise' charges from a couple of souvenir places we visited.

The villa was clean and tidy. The maid came daily, changed the towels every couple days. Better than at home! And having a private pool is a great. The luxury of being able to take a dip at any hour day or night was a huge plus. The garden is small, as is the pool...not long enough to do laps. But a cool temp always.

Brenda made sure we had a "Bali Bible" on places to eat nearby, best shopping and general tips for getting along on the island. It was very helpful. The place has a complete kitchen, but we only used it a couple of times. With so many cafes nearby we could get a complete breakfast between $3 & $4. And dinner at not much more than $10 each (if you don't order wine, which is majorly expensive...).
      so we thought...why hassle cooking?

We hope to return to Bali someday. And when we do, for sure we will stay in this villa -- as especially due to it's optimal location, and great service... it was perfect for us.

Avoid this place at all costs

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in December 2012

I would firstly like to say I wasn't going to review this place as my Mother always taught me "if you don'y have anyting nice to say, don't say anything at all". But 3 months after our stay here, I am still sick from whatever bug I happened to catch from staying here.

At first glance, this place seemed perfect for our stay over New Year. When retiring to bed the first night, we noticed the bedding was suffering severe mould. We contacted the owner and the pillows were replaced the next day. The manager just disappeared after this for the remaining duration of our stay when we advised we would like a refund because we wanted to find somewhere cleaner. Funny how the Manager reappeared the day of our departure.

The pool was filthy and we asked to have it cleaned. It got cleaned on the 3rd day of our 7 day stay. In fact when we departed on the 5th January, there was still fragments of the fireworks from New Years Eve. The bean bags by the pool again had mould growing all over them. There was rubbish all through the gardens. The bedding did not get changed the whole week we were staying here. It was a nightmare!!!

I have had an ear infection since this holiday that my Dr attributes to swimming in dirty water. strange considering this pool was the only place I swam on my holiday!!! Something our $155us per night should cover was simple hygenic practices, even in Bali.

There was also a small issue of no TV reception at all. This was advertised as included and the Manager proceeded to use the excuse of lazy Bali technicians, even when the display on the TV was mentioning it was due to an unpaid account. Totally unacceptable to blame others for an unpaid account. It was the mesaage on the TV screen for god's sake.

The only good thing about this place, we got given our $15aU mini bar charges free. Maybe a gesture of good will for the shabby, dirty, unhygenic villa? Maybe a gesture of good will for the disappearance of the Manager when we complained? Who knows?

It is operators like this that give places like Bali a bad name. This was my 5th visit to this lovely island and it has really put me visiting here ever again.

      Stay away from this villa!!!

      Roomy, convenient location, great management

Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Stayed at Villa aqua with some friends for a short holiday. Michael helped arrange transfers from the airport, recommended some diving spots and local restaurants and was extremely accommodating and helpful.
The villa is centrally located but secure and shielded from any noise and bustle, has a comfortable outdoor living area and very large, comfortable bedrooms.
Friendly staff service the villa daily and were happy to help with any requests.
Will definitely be looking Michael up again next time we are in Bali.

Thanks to this guest for his nice review. Our managers said they were among the nicest guests that they've ever had, and we hope they can come and stay with us again. We can only hope that all our guests have as nice a time here in Bali as these guys did.
