      Ambiente rilassante, sano e familiare

Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in August 2011

      Divine Relaxation, Paradise Found!

Left on 12/14/2011 for a stay in November 2011

My husband, 10 year old son and I had the great good fortune to find the gem that is Fattoria Fontegeloni. Although a world traveler, I almost never write reviews, however, I feel compelled to do so in this case as the experience was so exquisite that it would be wrong not to share it with others. Everything from the warmest welcome with fresh organic fruits, homemade pastries, and multiple large bottles of still water to the most comfortable beds, crisp linens and stunningly charming and spacious accommodations as well as the advice on where to go (including the nearby world famous caves with stalactites and stalagmites), dinner in an abbey served by an old friend of the Fattoria Fontegeloni's owners as well as a wine tasting also by other friends of our hosts was perfection. Silvana and her husband Loris are so kind, charming and helpful that the feeling is that they are newfound friends not just hosts. We've had many superb stays in many wonderful places in Italy but this experience defies words. The mouthwatering breakfasts of homemade bread, homemade jams, fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm, homemade olive oil, a fire burning in the fireplace are memories that will last a lifetime. Even the view from our bathroom was so gorgeous. I stood there standing out the window for ten minutes transfixed. We have already booked a return visit. Did I mention that we went at the end of autumn beginning of winter and all was crisp, clear beauty? I can't imagine how splendid it will be in springtime with all the flowers in bloom. Do yourself a favor and book in advance as this place is sure to be the next big thing.
