This charming upside down cottage in Settle sleeps two people in one bedrooms. Stable End Cottage is a charming upside down cottage in Settle. There is a ground floor double with en-suite shower room, and upstairs, an open plan living area with kitchen, sitting area and dining area, and views over the town towards the hills. Outside is off road parking for a medium-size car, and a front courtyard with furniture. Stable End Cottage is a wonderful romantic retreat, with the amenities of Settle on the doorstep, as well as easy access to walking, the Settle to Carlisle Railway, the rest of the Dales and the Lakes.

Town: On the south west edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, lies the busy market town of Settle. Situated beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain – with cliffs, caves and potholes to explore – this busy little town looks out on some of the best scenery in the country. Settle’s market tradition continues today and every Tuesday, the square is filled with a wide range of stalls offering local crafts and other items. For the rest of the week, the square is home to a number of local businesses and plays host to the historic three-storey building called The Shambles. With a good selection of shops and restaurants, and a traditional town cinema operating on Fridays and Saturdays, Settle has something for everyone. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  A lovely little cosy cottage, exactly as described on Skyes Cottages website. Very well stocked throughout and a good location within Settle. Fantastic shower, comfy bed, quiet location. It is small, but had everything we needed.
  
  Had nice food and drink in The Talbot (about 3 mins walk) and The Lion (about 6 mins walk).
  
  So overall great walking base - and very good value for money.

  Cosy, compact and fantastically equipped

  My wife and I stayed at Stable End Cottage for a week in early September and were thoroughly enchanted with it. Yes, it is small but it has been so well designed that it doesn't feel at all cramped. Everything that you could possibly want for a self-catering holiday, and more, is provided and the cottage was immaculate in both decoration and cleanliness. In fact, it looked as if it had just been completely refurbished. The owner, who converted it from a derelict shell, is a genius both in terms of artistic appeal and engineering ingenuity - he has thought of everything.
  The cottage is only a few hundred yards from the centre of Settle where there are a range of pubs, cafes and shops - there is a very good market every Tuesday. The Settle-Carlisle railway runs from here - well worth a trip as the scenery is fantastic. We got off at appleby and enjoyed exploring this fascinating market town which is steeped in history.
  We would recommend this cottage to any couple looking for a comfortable break in a beautiful part of the country.

  Quirky Upside Down House in Central Settle Location

  We spent three enjoyable nights over a long weekend. Small, but amazingly well though out and equipped. Althought the kitchen doesn't look much, we found it wanting for nothing and cooked at home one evening. Appeared to be recently refurbished and in great condition. You can walk to everything in Settle in a few mins and the Dales are on your doorstep.
