We stay In the smokies every summer and love it. This time we returned for New Year's Eve and found an agency that have us the most memorable stay to date. Our original cabin had a maintainance issue so Marty the owner of the cabin booking agency did what ever he could and more to make our trip happen. Our cabins where clean and locations where amazing. Thanks Marty and staff for helping us have the most amazing stay in the smokies in 5 years.

My husband and I came for 3 days for a short marriage retreat and we could not have asked for a better place. Everything was perfect, the view, the fireplace, the accommodations...the silence. It was wonderful. We're already planning to come back next year!!

We had a "wonderful" time. The cabin was just like we expected, decorated very nicely. Everything we needed was there all we had to do was buy our food. The leave changes were absolutly beautiful and the view we had from our cabin made it even better than expected. All of us enjoyed it very much and had alot of fun playing pool and relaxing in the Hot Tub. Turned cold at the end of our stay and used the fire place. The one thing I would suggest is they get tools for the fire place. We would diffently go back again, loved the cabin. Thank you for the wonderful memories we will always have. Read more

Black Bear Chalet is absolutely fantastic! The pictures on the web site are correct. There were 5 of us, and there is a bedroom/bathroom on each of the 3 floors. Also a deck on each floor. The views from the deck are beautiful. The cabin is a short drive from the National Park. We did not see any bears at the cabin, but did see a few in the Park. The only negative I have to say is the vacation ended way too soon.

The cabin was really nice, and location to the Great Smoky Mountains was excellent! The only problem we had was pulling our trailors up to the cabin and we could not bring the motorcycles up the road. There was way too much gravel. We had to keep the bikes and trailors down at the rental agency which worked out fine. The people in the rental agency were the nicest and most accomdodating group of people we had the pleasure of meeing. They even gave us a list of other cabins that are more motorcycle friendly we checked out for out next visit! Thanks Great Cabins in the Smokies, we will be visiting you again!! Read more

Selfishly we don't want to share this cabin! It was wonderful. The cabin is perched on the side of a mountain overlooking the valley. Great open view - yet completely private. No cabins on top of you. Enjoyed playing pool as much as sitting in the hot tub and viewing the stars. It was nice having a real charcoal grill as opposed to a campsite style grill. Nicely furnished - all of the comforts of home. This was our 2nd time renting from Great Cabins in the Smokies. Both experiences were excellent. We're ready to go back!

This cabin was spectacular. Great view, super clean, and very tastefully decorated. All the comforts of home with some luxurious perks to boot! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are extremely greatful for memories of a lifetime and the superlative service extended by Great Cabins. We will be back for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay at Black Bear Chalet. For the most part is was very quiet except for the neighbor's dog who woke us up about 4:30 every morning. There were some maintenance issues as well, like the tv in the upstairs bedroom did not work, the previous person staying mentioned that as well, but it was not fixed, the fence where you park your car is rotted and you could get hurt if you leaned on it, the toilet in the upstairs is loose, the bathroom sink in the main bath leaked, the outdoor grill is falling apart and the wood behind the fireplace outside is in need of repair. We also received numerous calls for the owner, which we did not appreciate since this is the very thing we try to get away from. We also found most of the outside seating quite uncomfortable and would have liked a tv for the bedroom on the main floor (which we found strange since the other two bedrooms had one). That being said, the view was to die for, the afternoons were quiet and all of the amenities were great. The place was also very clean. We found the living room a little small for our needs (4 adults) but would certainly consider it again.

From the moment we checked in until our very last minute of our stay, we had the best possible experience from the staff and the home we rented. Wow, What a view! We enjoyed the large deck and the rocking chairs so much, we never wanted to leave. When we did, we couldn't wait to get back. The home was warm and inviting and made us feel like it was our "second home". We even got to see a black bear on our 1st night there. The stay made my 60th birthday one of the most memorable in my life!!
the view is just so beautiful!

Beautifully decorated cabin with all amenities. The view from the back porch was magnificent. From the young lady that checked us in, to the maid service, all was excellent service. Would definitely recommend, and return.

We Stayed after Christmas for four nights. All of us, especially the 3 boys said this wes the best Smoky Mountain cabin we have ever stayed in.
The decor and attention to detail made it very comfortable and cozy. The views are great and easy access to the National Park was a pleasent surprise.
We could not have dreamed of anything better.
We will be back.

"WOW", is the best work to describe our stay at Black Bear Chalet! The cabin/chalet is perfect and has the most gorgeous view of the mountains and the Valley! Our family came from Florida and TN for the week of Thanksgiving. The cabin is gorgeously decorated with every amenity you could want. It even had a tree decorated for the holiday! Never again a hotel for us! The staff at Great Cabins are wonderful to work with. We'll definitely be back to this wonderful cabin and Black Bear Chalet! P.S. We didn't see any bears, but we did have a flurry of snow just after dinner on Thanksgiving! Ashlie and Morgan York, Palm Beach, FL

The Black Bear Chalet is an absolutely beautiful home. The view is as advertised. Very comfortable furniture, beds, etc. All accessories for preparing meals were available. The only negative was no satelite coverage in two of the three rooms where TV's were available. Didn't bother our group because we spent little time indoors because of the wonderful weather. But, if the weather had required more time indoors, the living room was the only location for TV viewing.

This was my first experience renting a cabin and I was very impressed!! The cabin was great and sure beats any hotel! We rented this cabin for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. We hardly left the cabin because it was so comfortable and peaceful. The staff at Great Cabins were great and helped us with everything that we needed. I would greatly recommend this cabin to anyone that is looking for a queit, peaceful, and beautiful stay. The cabin has everything that you need and we loved to be able to grill and cook right there at "home." We will be back to that cabin and have already recommended the cabin to all of our friends and family. The only thing that we missed while staying was internet access to explore things to do while in the area.

Good surprise awaits

First time in smaller cabin in years ! Pleasantly welcomed from moment the door opened ! All three bedrooms;;great views and porches overlooking Wears Valley. We are used to the "other side " of mt looking toward the Smokies, but found joy in each morning as the trees canvas of color unfolded before us with an ever changing palette of reds, golds, orange. No bears to our disappointment, but"something "ate most of the outside deco. Decor very cheerful ( needed good dusting however). I loved the pool table ! Too short folks had difficulty sitting comfortably in living room , but overall experience tops ! Glad we chose your home and that it was close enough to Townsend for daily sojourns! We like location near there and are four Maryville Colle grads VERY familar with entire area.

Black Bear Chalet is the MOST!!! We have stayed with other rental cabins but this was the best. Beautiful views....when the rain finally cleared out..although it did snow in the upper elevations. The chalet was very clean and very well equipped...except for a can opener. The decor was awesome. I only wish I could just move in forever. I was a bit disappointed not to see the visiting bears. We know they came because they ate one of the decorative pumpkins in the flower box on the window. Loft bathroom could be a bit larger. Can't wait to return for another stay in this beautiful cabin.
A View To Remember, I think all the Black Bears that visted woul

The cabin was great, the views from the wrap around wood decks at three different levels was unforgetable. The location of the cabin was nice, very seculded. If you stay here get to know the back roads, there are short cuts in any direction to get to the National Park, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The best part of being at the cabin, was the vistors that would come by. We seen many Black Bears. A mother and two cubs, and three different males. The biggest being atleast 300 pounds. This cabin needs a better trash container, the bears made short work of getting in to the big plastic container. We spent a few mornings picking up our trash. A better trash container would help keep them out. But they were still fun to watch. One bear even came to the back door, as we were watching TV. This was our third cabin rental and by far the best.

This beautiful well appointed cabin exceeded expectations. We had a wonderful time and this cabin was a big part of it. It was clean and very cozy with all the comforts of home. The view of the mountains was beautiful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The cabin was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was very well equipped. An added bonus was that it was close to everything and had an entrance to the park about 10 minutes away. The only drawback was that it had no inter net connection but we loved it anyway.
