Description from the manager

If ever there was a "killer view," Chocolate Moose has it. Look out across the valley of Pigeon Forge and the mountains beyond - all from the comfort of your personal luxury log cabin. The cabin is designed to maximize this view, with many windows and two decks. The airy game room boasts a window wall to the top of the cathedral ceiling, providing a cheerful place for billiards and air hockey, or just sitting back to enjoy the breathtaking mountains.

Gather in the great room to enjoy the stone fireplace and 52" wide screen TV with surround sound system, plus that view again. Even the dining table faces the view.

Beautiful Cabin but... read your contract...

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013

The cabin is beautiful and clean... the view is amazing. Upon arrival the lights were on and the cabin was cozy warm. A bit of a challenge to find on GPS it was worth the search. Our only complaint was that the hot tub did not work. We called a few times, they were nice and on our third and final day there, someone was finally able to come out and look at the hot tub. We called Eden Crest and the were willing to not charge us a cleaning fee on the hot tub...which we didn't use. Not our idea of customer service. Two door down, Dollywood vacations had identical units at $50.00 less a night. (posted on the side of the cabins). We will check there next time... Read your contract as they don't guarantee things to work, and it's not their full responsibility if they don't. Disappointing to have a view like this with a hot tub and not be able to enjoy it.

      A Spectacular View!

Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We were very pleased with Chocolate Moose!
The location, the view, and the cabin. The only disappointing thing was our check-in! After travelling for 16 hours over two days, we were told our cabin was not ready at four o'clock~it had been cleaned but not inspected. The girls at reception were very pleasant, but being seniors, we were certainly ready to relax on our porch, and not have to drive around Pigeon Forge waiting for our cabin!

This cabin had everything that a family with children could ask for. We did bring our 8 year old grandson and he had a great time. It would be a great place for friend that are vacationing together. The wifi was a great addition as was the free long distance calling. We would stay again with others.

      Amazing view, amazing vacation.

Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in April 2011

Found this cabin during my many searches online, for the perfect view, and was not disappointed. No electronic devices were allowed on this trip, to allow our family to reconnect and they were not missed. Every evening was spent playing pool, or sitting in the hot tub, and enjoying the view. The kids loved all of the Chocolate Moose special touches and even tried to count them all. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return soon. *one small complaint, the cabin leaks during strong rain storms, as I assume they all do. Also, it gets pretty scary up there on the side of the mountain, when the winds kick up. We loved chocolate moose!!

My girlfriend and I stayed with you in the chocolate moose. We had a wonderful time, and would like to come back. The view was awsome and the cabin could not have been cleaner or more comfortable. We thank you for the opportunity to stay with you, and would like to make another trip back to you in the future.

Chocoalte Moose was amazing. The location, views, ammenities, etc. were fantastic. There is an abundence of activities in the surrounding areas that could entertain anyone. However, most attractions inside the National Park are closed from Nov - March for winter. (ie Clingman's Dome) Staff was fantastic and would do anything to help.

loved the cabin hated the ploblems

Left on 02/03/2011 for a stay in January 2011

We loved the cabin as soon as we pulled in the view and cabin was great the hot tub , games, warmth of the cabin was better than we could have expected. But!!! we had a car broken into and several very expensive items taken our second night at the cabin after that my wife couldnt sleep and didnt feel safe being in the cabin ,,, that put a kink in the only vacation we will get to take together this year. The other problem was the unused cameras at the entrance to the cabins and the lack of a response to my phone call to Eden Crest resorts about my break in and what they would do about it until 6:30 that night when i had to call back to find some answers for myself . We felt very looked over in a time when we were unsure that we even wanted to stay another night or just drive home and declare the vacation a total loss. The craziest part is based on our first night my brother booked 3 nights next month for his honeymoon and my parents booked 4 nights in the summer now every body is thinking of canceling or finding someone to pawn the cabin off on !!! What would you do???

      Manager

Thank you for choosing Eden Crest Vacation Rentals. We realize this choice was made trusting us to do all we can to make your time in the Smoky Mountains a wonderful experience. We are deeply sorry that you experienced a break-in to your auto during your stay. What a horrible thing to have happen, and especially while on vacation. We do sympathize with you and extend our regrets. It is something that is totally out of our control however, and while it is a rare occurrence in this area we are not totally immune from something like that happening either. This is a wonderful place to not only visit but to live, and compared to many other areas of our great nation a safe place to do both. There are gated communities that you can rent a cabin in so if you are concerned about this kind of activity I would recommend you select one of those communities for your next visit. We here at Eden Crest actually have two that we represent and would be delighted to review properties located behind gates with you. Please accept my sincere apologies for this atrocity and understand that it is not common activity for this area. We hope to see you again real soon and hope you have a blessed year.

The cabin made the trip perfect.

Left on 12/30/2010 for a stay in December 2010

Staying in this cabin was so relaxing and made the trip perfect. It was great to come back to what felt like a home rather than going to a motel room. We did have plumbing issues, as a pipe burst before our arrival, so floor in downstairs bedroom stayed wet. Also the cabin does not include a PS2 as website indicates. This was not a big deal, just disappointed the kids a little. The hot tub on the upstairs balcony was the best! Loved sitting in it each night.

Although expensive for us, this cabin was absolutely beautiful and perfect. I wish I had the time to stay a whole week, but two nights of paradise was gladly welcome. The cabin's furnishings were modern yet rustic and didn't look grannyish. My family felt at home and we were all very comfortable, somtimes luxurious.

The DVD on the 2nd level did not work. Could have used a few more pots and pans.
It would really be nice to have instructions on how to use the TV/DVD, Hot Tubs, appliance etc. A list of local TV stations would have been nice too.
It would have been nice to have a recliner in the cabin, I have back problems and most of the beds I can sleep in.

Left on 09/02/2010 for a stay in May 2010

The stay was remarkable but the promotion that we were promised was not redeemable due to that employee no longer working for the Eden Crest company which wasn't our fault and should of been honored, but other than that the stay was 5 stars in my opinion...the location was enjoyable every morning and evening especially, the master bedroom was unique as well as breathtaking, the bath tub was relaxing and it was a pleasant stay...

Check in was a breeze, directions to the cabin were easy to follow. The cabin was exactly as described on the internet. The location was close to town. We didn't partake of any of the "extra" services, but they all sounded wonderful. My family and I loved the close location to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg as we love both places. The pool was an added bonus as this was the first year we've had our grandbaby and she was able to take her first dip in a pool. All in all a great time.

There were a few items I was searching for in our cabin (bottlecap opener, coffee for 12 cup maker), but otherwise the cabin was well prepared. The 2 teenagers and the 12 yr. old enjoyed the upstairs at chocolate moose. The only concern was that we found a scorpion in the bathroom when we we packing to leave. We reported it and left its body for the cleaning staff. Otherwise we had an enjoyable stay in a well appointed cabin.

It was perfect location - close to everything yet secluded from all of the commercialism! The cabin was comfortable and relaxing. The view was breathtaking! We were surprised that recycling wasn't promoted more -
It was nice that we had soaps for laundry and dishes . . . could add a couple more kitchen trash can bags (there was just one).
It was great with 4 kids - they pretty much dominated the upstairs loft and that worked out perfectly -- they played the air hockey table / pool table and made them selves at home in the hot tub . . . we all loved the place! It was so nice to be out all day in the Smokies or going to different amusements and then having the comforts of home to return to! We will definitely return!

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Chocolate Moose. It is a beautiful cabin with an outstanding view of Pigeon Forge. Everything from making the reservation with Eden Crest to our actual stay was wonderful. The only negative comments is that the pictures of the Master Bedroom portrays the room as secluded and private when in fact it is part of the game room..a thought to keep in mind if bringing family or another couple. Also the surround sound is a great added feature but there needs to be instructions for new users. We woke up one morning to discover that the music was on, on the deck outside but it couldn't be heard inside the house. We hoped that we didn't disturb other cabin dwellers. All in all, it was a great, much needed get-away for us. Thank you so much for a lovely home away from home!!Rick and Taina NorrisWinston-Salem, NC

Chocolate Moose is indeed a wonderful cabin. I don't think there is a better view in all of Sevier County. I have spoken to the owner about the bedroom in the loft and he is considering adding a wall to separate the areas from each other. The draw back to this is the loss of the view from your bed. I will address the problem with the surround sound by posting operating directions.

Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you both again real soon in the most beautiful part of the world. Congratulations on 30 years of marriage.
