      Nice Cabin - Great Location!

      I am writing this review because there are no recent reviews and that would have been helpful to me this summer. This is a great cabin and we enjoyed our stay very much. Here are my pro's and con's:

      Pros:
      Great location - close to everything you need; not as congested as Gatlinburg area;
      Plenty of room for the kiddos and two couples+;
      Nice community pool -- not too crowded even July 4th;
      Wi-fi access in the cabin was good but no cell;
      More basic supplies than I thought there would be (tp, soap, etc)
      Easy check-in!
      Lots of room
      Wonderful porches all the way around the cabin
      Kroger is close but there is a great smaller market/meat market even closer.
      Close to Dollywood and not a bad drive to Smokies Ballpark.
      Unfortunately I fell and broke my nose on my way into the ballpark; LeConte medical center was well equiped and took care of me. There was a 24-hour Walgreens on the way back to the cabin, even on July 4th!

      Cons:
      every remote needed new batteries (including celing fans);
      Projector for theater room needed work (we didn't call due to time constraints so it may be fixed by now, but it was in poor shape and needed to be replaced -- informed them at check-out);
      At least one kitchen cabinet was off it's hinges;
      Video games in gameroom were too loud so we had to use napkins to muffle speakers;
      Trash pickup did not seem to be adequate;
      The discount passes offered on the website were not in the cabin and were not volunteered at check-in (even though specifically requested), the dvd rental pass was in the cabin and we enjoyed it very much! We were told by the Ripley's aquarium that Eden Crest is known for not providing discount information to its guests.

      Downstairs master only has a king instead of queen, but I don't know that there was enough space. I wanted to be away from the kids and this was the only truly remote bedroom and it was not a king.

      Fyi - we never used the hot tub(s) so I don't have an opinion on those.

      Would definitely rent from again - this is a very nice cabin - thanks for a great vacation!

      On Solid Ground is a great cabin in a great location and has so much to offer. We have addressed the projector issue and deeply apologize for the problems you had during your stay. It is very hard to know when a bulb is going to go out but we do our best to respond quickly so your time spent watching a movie is not interrupted any more than necessary. We offer trash pick-up when you call and request it from us. This is not something we routinely do however any need you have whether it is for trash pick-up or you need additional supplies will be addressed quickly and efficiently. We have a wall full of discount brochures and coupons in our check-in office and we would invite you to stop in and check them out. It is difficult to send them to our guests in advance as there are so many we would not know which ones to choose to meet your specific needs. If you wish to do any planning in advance of your trip next time you visit just give our office a call and one of our friendly staff will be happy to assist you in any way you need.       Cabin Great! Check In... Not so great.

      We arrived at the check in office at 3:15 on the day of check-in. Our cabin was not ready and I was told it would be ready to go at 4:00, which is the promised time. I came baack at 4:00 only to find that it was not ready as promised. There were several other vacationers waiting for their cabin as well. We were told that this was the busy season which I fully understand. My question is don't retail stores hire more people for holiday shopping? Why couldn't Eden Crest have more people on staff. Even after checking in, I had a question they could not answer. I was assured they would call me back. Here it is nearly a week later and I am still waiting.

      On to the cabin... Perfect! I have never been in such a nice cabin in all of my stays in the Smokys. Wonderful for a family retreat such as ours.

      On Solid Ground - at Smoky Cove

      This is our third summer at the Smoky Mountains and our first time staying with Eden Crest Resorts. We stayed at "On Solid Ground" which is located in the Smoky Cove Resort. The cabin location was excellent. (1/2 mile to a great Pizzeria and Krogers). It was obvious that the owners took very care of the house. The outdoor porch had outdoor fans and plenty of seating. We enjoyed this space a lot. The cabin was well equipped and had many upgraded features, such as: bedding, furniture, fixtures and appliances. Eden Crest was quick to respond to any needs and I definitely would rent from them again and stay in, On Solid Ground.

      Lovely cabin that was great for our family.

      The cabin was wonderful! It was perfect for our large family. The children really enjoyed the game room. My only complaint about the cabin would be that the dryer did not work properly and it took a really long time to get clothes dry. Otherwise, everything was wonderful.

      We did have to wait for 45 minutes for our cabin to be ready.

      When we walked in we found the cabin was just like home. Everything we needed was there. Being able to use the phone for long distance calls was very useful. I have been telling everyone that they need to go to the mountains instead of the beach at least once.

      A Little Dissapointed

      Overall the stay was good. The staff at the office was Fantastic. The big dissapointment was the hot tub. The description and pictures showed a private sunken 6 person hot tub, but in reality the tub was sitting on the lower concrete slab just feet away from a major through road in the resort. It also had only 1 corner of the jets that worked. We never even bothered to use it. This is not our 1st stay with Eden Crest as we are repeat customers. I will book again with Eden Crest but I want to be sure what is advertised is what we get. It is just a big let down to look at hundreds of cabins, pick the one you feel is just right for you, pay you hard earned $, wait for your days in the cabin and then when you arrive have the surprise that what you paid for is not what you got. I am in no way downing the Customer Service we recieved. Everyone at the office was great. The lady I spoke with upon our arrival was very helpful and very understanding. as I said before, we will be back. We just want to be sure that we get what is advertised. Thank you for allowing me to express my concerns.

      The hot tub at this cabin was recently relocated due to safety concerns. New photographs are not yet available, but the old photos have since been removed from the web site, pending new photographs. We are sorry that this one issue became such a source of disappointment for you. We really wish that you had let us know about the malfunctioning jets in the tub. That problem is being investigated.

      We hope that in future, we do not let you down – as it is our goal to always represent our cabins to the public as accurately as possible.

      Unpleasant Stay

      We did not enjoy this cabin. The pictures show a sunken hot tob. When we got to the cabin the suken hot tub had been removed & placed on the bottom cement deck very close to the road. When we contacted Eden Crest they were aplogetic but said there was nothing they could do about the owner moving the hot tub. The upstairs game room is very noisy. We did not like the game room being upstairs. The beds were very uncomfortable. They were not pillowtop mattresses as stated on the website. I would not recommend this cabin to anyone. I will not stay at this cabin again.

      Although the cabin was in good condition and had nice furniture, I would not stay at this cabin again. The cabin was not as large as the the photos on the web site appeared. The kitchen and dining area are cramped and the bedrooms are also too small. This cabin does not have a view.

      On Solid Ground was the perfect fit for a late Christmas get-together for our family. Eden Crest rentals greeted us warmly, and assured us that they would be available should we need anything--but we didn't. It was wonderful having large bedrooms and adjoining baths for ourselves and our three adult children and spouses. The grandchildren loved the loft bunk beds, getting to sleep in the corner of the game room! And what a hit the gameroom was! The men had a pool tournament while the children played air hockey and arcade games. Our least favorite thing was the loudness of the arcade game, especially the first morning when the adults were trying to sleep!! It would be great if the volume could be adjusted. In the evenings, we quietened down in the theatre room. When we tried to pry the grandchildren away to go for a drive and see the lights, they refused to go. The men stayed in the cabin except at evening meal time!. It was very clean, very well furnished, with top of the line kitchen furnishings so that we lacked nothing for preparing meals there. We would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the pool and recreational area. A great place for a family vacation.

      We had a mix of ages and all found their space to get comfortable and enjoy their time. The older folks enjoyed sitting in the living room together and watching the fire and snow. The younger ones enjoyed playing all the games & gadgets in the house. Space for everyone to spread out.

      We loved the stay. Enjoying vacation requires a place to come home to after a busy day and relax, a good bed and room to move around. We had this in On Solid Ground and only a short drive to all the attractions. We have stayed with Eden Cress before and you can count on a clean and nice place to stay with professional people to deal with. Eden Cress will be the first I look at for rentals.

      Family Weekend Trip

      The cabin was awesome! Everything was there, great amenities and games for the kids. We really loved the cabin, couldn't ask for more. There were a few minor things that didn't work, light dimmers ect. But that is to be expected anywhere. Very comfortable furniture and great kitchen had everything!!
      On another note I was very unpleased with the customer service I got in office at Eden Crest. This upset me because they have so many cabins to choose from I would really want to rent with them again. But the people I spoke with on the phone in office were rude and did not try to help. We had left our zip up insulated bag in the fridge in out cabin and realized after check-out about an hour later. I called back the girl I s/w was not very nice. We were willing to come back and get the bag. It was filled with our left over groceries and cold items. She informed me she was certian maintence threw it in garbage. I just could not believe they would do that. She said it clearly states to clean out fridge. We realized this. We had packed everything in that bag and just by mistake forgot to take it when we left. I asked her if she could all and make sure. She said "I guess" She took my name and number and said she would call me back. We waited in Piegon Forge a couple more hours... Never got a phone call back. This I don't feel is good customer service and was very disappointed in this part of our stay. But the overall stay besides the customer service we got I would say was good. I can only hope this is not the way all customers are treated upon leaving something behind in the cabin. I called back on Monday when we got home and lady I talked to that day was very nice and said that is not the way I should have been treated. She called maintence and they said there was never a work order even turned in for a left behind item in the cabin we stayed in. She said she would be reporting it to her supervisor.

      On Solid Ground is a beautiful cabin. It was very accomodating, and roomy for the 4 adults and 6 kids we came with. Our weekend ended up being cool but our fireplace was in repair and we were unable to use it which is unfortunate. The only other complaint (if you even call it that) is that for the amount of people the cabin is able to sleep there weren't enough pots, pans, mixing bowls, etc. That said, the cabin is very convenient to town yet secluded and private. We had a great time there!

      My Family and I rented this cabin in May 2010 . I must say it was a wonderful stay for us. Everything we needed was there and it felt like home away from home . I hated that we only stayed 3 days . This cabin is located in between everything . I must say this is where i'll be staying the next time we visit . You will love it !!!

      The Best Stay Ever!

      The cabin was absolutely beautiful, and the trip was one that leaves you dreading the return to home. Check in was prompt and the people were extremely helpful and courteous.

      On Solid Ground is literally "Heaven on Earth". From its location, to its beautifully maintained grounds, this cabin was truly picture perfect. We saw the photos of the cabin online, but the photos does this can no justice...simply beautiful.
