You won't be dissapointed with this one

Left on 04/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013

I felt compelled to write this review (and this is my first) after my fourth stay in the beautiful Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg area. First I will start with first impressions. This was our first time using Eden Crest, as we have always used Patriot Gettaways in the past. When we entered the Black Bear resort, the husband and I were slightly nervous as we have never stayed in a resort cabin with neighbors...upon entering the cabin, the cabins location and close proximity to neighbors, no longer mattered!! The cabin was beautiful, clean and elegantly decorated. Entering the bedrooms was so exciting. All four are master suites, with enormous Jacuzzi tubs that could fit four people comfortably, if desired. There is plently of hot water so do not try to fill the tub on hot because when you attempt to get in, you will get scolded! This is a goot thing!!! You will be able to enjoy a hot bath and not have to worry about the hot water tank not supplying enough hot water for the 4 tubs in the cabin. My group enjoyed and took advantage of the game room and hot tub all weekend. The pool table was not totally level, but it did not effect play much at all. The 2 little girls (my daughters) loved the air hockey table ans the Wii system however I recommend bringing games as they only provide Wii Sports. The hot tub only would reach 103 which was adequate for my travel mates, but I would prefer hot, hot, hot hotub. The kitchen is fully stocked with place settings, silverware, pots/pans, blender, mixer, baking dishes, mixing bowls etc. Perfect for cooking your own fabulous meals. I recommend bringing some dishwasher tabs and a large pot/ dutch oven as they cabin supplies 4 tabs and only small pots for cooking. Everything else that is needed for a gourmet meal..is provided. Jumping back to the bedrooms, the bedding is very nice and the beds are firm, excellent for a bad back...we all slept like babies. The Tv's have a great picture and excellent direct tv service with all of the movie channels and dvr (there were plenty movies and series recorded from previous visitors to watch as well!!) Sidenote and something to consider, the upstairs masters are very warm so bring a fan if you warm up easily or stay in the lower lever masters as they are the opposite, extremely cool. Now to the view...Spectacular panoramic mountain view that is truely breathtaking. The twinkle of the cabin lights in the distance offered a beautiful nightime view from the hottub. We also saw 4 weddings from the cabin as it overlooks a lovely chapel, that was an added treat to our vacation and added even more to the romantic ambiance. Our group was My Husband and I, our two daughters (6, 10), infant son, and two recently engaged couples one of which also had an infant. We are all aged 26-32 and this cabin was perfect for what you would expect a group our age would look for. Clean, Romantic, fun and accomodating for children as well. We will book with Edencrest exclusivly from now on.

Great Cabin, Not so great location

Left on 10/27/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Do I think it was overpriced? Slightly, yes. It was a nice cabin but you could hear every noise anyone made whether they were above you, below you, or across the hall. I would not tell any of my friends with young children to stay here. There is no way they would sleep through the night with the noise. The neighborhood can be loud. Friday night was not too bad, but Saturday night there must have been parties at almost every cabin in Black Bear Ridge. The check-in.. Let's talk about that. They would not let you check in until 4 pm on the dot. They told us our cabin was not ready.. which seems to be what they told everyone as the parking lot was full of people waiting. There wasn't anyone in it the two previous days before our arrival so it had to have been ready. Overall, if you are in your 20-30's and want to have a great weekend and be loud.. Perfect place for you. Not so much for families.

A relaxing get away from your busy life.

Left on 10/26/2011 for a stay in October 2011

The cabin was fabulous. We felt so at home that we spent 2 days in using the game room, hot tub, and deck. This cabin is nicely furnished and because of the floor plan, would be great for family get togethers. We will definitely be back to this cabin next year. The folks at Eden Crest are very helpful and courteous. There is only one thing you need to fix - more hot water (there are 4 jacuzzi tubs in this cabin).

      Lack of Service

Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in September 2011

arrived 1430 hrs, informed that cleaning was still servicing the cabin, informed they would call when cabin was ready!! never received the call. Checked in 1600 hrs, arrived at cabin no water, cut off by the city. Question? how did they clean the cabin with no water, note cabin was clean. Fire alarm was going off when we arrived, called service, they indicated that was not considered a emergency, so a members of the family was forced to sleep on the couch. Total lack of support from Edencrest.

      Incredible View

Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011

My family and I stayed at Breathless view for a week in July. The cabin is awesome! The view is stunning and breathtaking! We didn't even have to leave or want too! My only complaint is that it looked as though it had never been dusted. And the air upstairs wasn't working when we got there. So we checked the air filters and they hadn't been changed in months. We called the office and they sent someone over right away. I would recommend this cabin, it is beautifully decorated and very spacious. It was perfect for our family, all together there was 10 of us, 5 adults and 3 kids.

Left on 06/19/2011 for a stay in June 2011

We had a wonderful time. We loved the layout of the cabin. The decor was beautiful. Since it overlooks the chapel, we witnessed 3 weddings while we were there! Honestly, it would take a lot less to please our family/friends, eastern Tennessee sells itself... We have visited 3 times now, in all different times of the year. I will retire in this area, if I can't make it there before... It's just a fantastic place to be and companies like Eden crest are the icing on the cake!

We lived like we really had money :)I highly recommend it to everyone. A loaded kitchen with real dishes and every room with it's on full bath! The kids had a great vacation without even leaving the house one day. Wow!!

Left on 05/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011

I wish the cabin was cleaner the couch upstairs was very dirty. We had a storm and the ceiling leaked. The bee's and hornets made it impossible to sit outdoors. As for the view it was great. We had fun lots to do. But I would find a different place to stay next time.

Response from Eden Crest Vacation Rentals, Inc - 05/13/2011

      Eden Crest Vacation Rentals, Inc

      Manager

We are very glad to hear that you had a fun trip and found many things to do. And, the view is breathless at this aptly named cabin.

It is so very unfortunate that you did not let us know about your problems when you were here. We always try to respond to guests’ needs as soon as possible.

In this case, Eden Crest’s housekeeping staff would have checked the couch right away and had a cleaner in. We have since inspected the couch, and agree that it was probably getting time to have it professionally cleaned. This is being done right now.

We are very concerned about the leak you have reported in this review. Our maintenance staff is in the process of looking over the entire roof. It is due to storm again, so we will be in the cabin looking for any evidence of a leak. We sincerely wish that you had called when it happened so that our team could have pinpointed the location at the time. Leaks can develop at any time, and none was indicated at this cabin until now.

Finally, it’s spring in the Smokies, and all the bugs are just starting to come out. We often get calls about bees and wasps this time of year, and we respond right away. In this case, we did find a number of carpenter bees – which do not sting or bother humans, except by flying by. We have pest control performing an annual treatment this week.

Because you waited to tell us that you had issues long after your stay, there is nothing we can do to fix the problem and save your vacation. Please tell us at the time of your stay so that we can act and prevent your disappointment, so that you can go back home feeling that you had one of the best vacations ever.

Loved the space for the boys upstairs.

Left on 04/26/2011 for a stay in March 2011

The cabin was really nice. Spacious, we liked that everyone had their own bathroom.
Our teenage boys loved that they both had their own bedroom and a playroom in between them, the only problem was every step they made we heard downstairs! Make sure you check out what you get with the wii yourself. We had taken extra controlors, but they never played because of so much else to do. When we checked in the girl barely looked in the box, but checked off it was all there. When we checked out they said a numchuck was missing and the kids hadn't even played with the game, so it was $75.00. We just ended up giving them one of our controlors, but it really aggravated me that they didn't beleive me. They was supposed to call if they found and I never heard from them.

I want to first state that your customer service(in person) was wonderful. I had special needs because of the family ages I was with. Eden crest did all they could do to help me out. which made my stay alot less stressful.
the cabin was exactly what we needed, like i stated before we had special needs because of the range in age, 81-52.
I , we, had trouble with all the high tech gizmos on the tv's, and had some difficulty calling long distance on the cabin phone. Other then two little poultry problems, the rest was cake.

The cabin was awesome. The cabin was way better than the internet pictures. There was 8 people in my party and we could of hide from each other the whole weekend in that cabin it was so big. Everything inside the cabin was clean and new. If you stay and you want to play pool bring some sticks. There was only one pool stick, that was the only hiccup the whole trip. Very nice cabin and what a great price. The view is amazing as well.

One of the worst travel experiences ever.

Left on 02/06/2011 for a stay in January 2011

The house was nice in general but there were many things wrong with it and items that were on the website but were not in the home. The twin bunk-beds were not in the game-room, which takes away two sleeping places. We had to have someone bring us a Wii because that was not there. The foosball table was broken. All of the televisions gave us some kind of trouble, being that they are old and the only new one has something wrong with the pixels and there is a blue line that runs down the middle of it. There is no aV connection that is assessable to the big screen and many of the remotes don't have batteries. The older tvs cannot connect to game systems such as the Wii or a PlayStation 3. I was not very satisfied with my stay and will not be staying with this comapany again.

      Eden Crest Vacation Rentals, Inc

      Manager

We are very sorry to hear that you found your cabin “One of the worst travel experiences ever.†We prefer that every one of our guests remember their vacation stay as “One of the best!†We wish that we could roll back time and address each of the problems you experienced during your stay. To answer some of your comments… The bunk beds were removed by the cabin’s owner and replaced by a very comfortable queen size sleeper sofa, which is pictured on our web site – providing the same amount of accommodation, but with more comfort, especially for adults. The Wii (and similar) game systems are all at the Eden Crest check-in office. We keep them here, and check them out with each guest to ensure all the parts and pieces are available each and every time.

We can only stress to you, and every other guest, that whenever you experience a mechanical problem with any of the furnishings in our cabins, please let us know as soon as possible. We cannot fix what we do not know about. Plus, we always send out a maintenance person to fix a broken game table, help with technological connections, and even to bring you batteries.

As with everything you reported, the problem with the TV will be checked now that we know you had a problem, as this is a new TV and should not have been giving you any trouble or “blue lines†– we certainly do not want the next guest to feel the same disappointment you left with.

We hope that you might consider giving us another chance in the future to prove that we do strive for an exceptional standard in our cabins, and will respond to any deficiencies you discover during your stay. We want you to feel that at an Eden Crest cabin, you are escaping to a wonderful vacation home.

We loved Breathless View although the steep drive up in the dark was a bit scary. The cabin was huge and spotless. The dining room table only had 6 chairs so we could not all sit at once but we had dinners out and only breakfast in. Just a note if someone wants a large family dinner at the table. We got serenaded by a couple of people at the wedding chapel while we were in the hottub. What fun!
