      Disappointing Stay

Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The cabin was spacious, and there was plenty of sleeping room for everyone. The dining room table was a nice size and our extended family enjoyed meals together each night. Everyone, especially the kids, enjoyed the pool, air hockey & pacman games, there was enough parking for 6 cars, and we enjoyed the beautiful mountain views. Sunset was breathtaking. The location was perfect - close to the tourist attractions and not far from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. That said, we were disappointed with a few things too. First, anyone who rents in this community needs to know that the cabins are very close to each other and there is a lot of cabins. I have never seen so many cabins crammed so close to each other. It was very unexpected and detracted from the serenity of what we expected in a mountain getaway. The kids in the cabin next door to us were playing in the hot tub as if it were a swimming pool until well past 1:00 am, we could hear everything. The decor in the cabin was probably very nice at one time, but now appears as if it has been used a lot and is overly worn. The wood floors were very scratched up, the living room rug was filthy and so was the carpet on the stairs. The cushions in the dining room chairs need to be replaced. Many of the plates were chipped and the silverware was a hodge podge of mix-match. We found a bag of someone elses bathroom trash underneath one of the bathroom vanities and there were little things missing that should not have been. The worst part, was when it rained, one of the master bedrooms had a leak. The rain was coming in from the ceiling and onto the bed and floor as if it were coming in thru a sieve. We were there on a weekend and no one would fix the leak until Monday morning. So, for two nights, we had to move the bed and put bowls from the kitchen on the floor to catch the water. The management and maintenance staff over the weekend were unhelpful and unresponsive. It wasn't until Monday morning when we were contacted by the manager that everything was fixed. She was very apologetic and professional and did refund us 1/8th of the rental amount (there were 8 bedrooms). But I would have preferred for them to keep the $250 and us not had to deal with the water in the house and all the unpleasantries we experienced because of it.

the cabin was very clean and was very well kept, however the fireplaces weren't working yet for the season and that was dissapointing the deck furniture was not cleaned, ther was not enough forks or large platters for that amount of people. the staff was very easy to deal with and made our ckeck in and stay very enjoyable and easy thanks for a wonderful vacation for our whole family.

      Great Experience

Left on 09/16/2011 for a stay in September 2011

My family and I stayed at the eden crest resort, Black Bear Lodge, Pinnacle View over Labor day weekend and we had a blast. Our family ranges from my mother, who is 67 years old to my great nephew, who is 2 years old. We shared an eight bedroom cabin, which was spacious and clean. The view was gorgeous and the town was full of things to do, whether it be shopping, sightseeing in the mountains, ziplining, or just hanging out in your cabin, you found it in Pigeon Forge. It rained for most of the weekend so we were able to stay in our lovely cabin and bond as a family without everyone sitting on top of one another. It is now our annual family vacation spot. I have already passed the word and recommended the resort to friends and family. It surpassed my expectaions. Our only complaint was the nonstop traffic, which could have been due to being a holiday weekend, but when it was time for us to go home on Monday, we sat in traffic on 441 for 2 hours and then another 2 hours trying to make it to 40...it kind of took the wind out of the entire weekend. We will definitely return just not during the holiday.

      Disaster from day one!

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in August 2011

I would like to start by saying that this is the third year in a row that I've booked with Eden Crest. Year one we stayed (9 people) in Better View located in Bear Creek Crossing and had no issues. Last year we stayed (9 people) in Cloud Nine located in Connor Heights with minor issues. This year I should have known that it was going to be bad from the day I made the reservation. The staff was very helpful in helping me choose my cabin, I asked for a cabin located in Bear Creek Crossing and explained that we always trailer our motorcycles into Pigeon Forge and ride all weekend long. I needed a cabin larger than before as we would need to sleep 16 people this time. She said no problem and suggested Pinnacle View for our stay. The pics seemed very nice and I agreed, Pinnacle View it was. She took my info and emailed me the paperwork. However the paperwork was for another guest so I had to call her back and get the correct paperwork sent over. No big deal, the paperwork was complete and we were set. Upon arrival at the office I received directions to my cabin and noticed that the directions said turn left off of Wears Valley which confused me because I knew Bear Creek Crossing was off the right not the left...long story shorter Pinnacle View was not in Bear Creek Crossing but Black Bear Ridge (BBR). Back to the directions...if you follow them you end up in Neverland. The directions said go out 2 miles (the second entrance), turn right, 10th cabin on right. In actuality it was about 1.3 miles (first entrance), turn right, 10th cabin on the left. After 4 phone calls and a trip back to the office we pull up in 5 vehicles pulling three trailers with 6 motorcycles to enough parking for three volkswagon Beatles. This cabin says it will sleep 26 and it will, but more than 10 in the kitchen/living room is a stretch...smallest cabin we've seen yet. Dirty hot tub, no propane in the grill, no parking, loose railing. This was the last trip for me and Eden Crest

We had a good time with our extended family. Plenty of entertainment for all age groups. Best part was sitting on the deck and enjoying the view.

Cabin was nice, but location for our group was very awkward.

Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Printed directions we were given were incorrect. I took an activity Bus load of H.S. students and it took an hour or more to find the cabin after leaving the Eden Crest Vacation Rentals. Directions led us immediately down a road that said "No Buses". We obviously had no choice but to take this road to get to our cabin. However, mileage directions were incorrect and street signs were not ledgible at night. Fortunately, we had an adult who could walk beside the bus to help us read the street signs that were metal with dark green paint and very small. Cabin was very nice, but getting there was difficult to say the least. The rental company should be sure to ask what mode of transportation will be used before renting to large groups.
