We recently stayed here for five days and had a total of nine people - 4 adults and five children. The accommodations were great as far as amenities, size and location, however, we thought it lacked in cleanliness. The light fixtures were layered with dust and filled with dead bugs. We actually vacuumed the bugs out of the light fixture ourselves over the dining table because it was just gross to look at. The floors were filthy in the corners of the bathrooms and under the sofas in the living room which was easily seen when walking up the stairs. I think the cabin is just generally due for a good deep cleaning.
Dirtiness aside, we still had a nice vacation and the owner was great to work with.Response from Terri Scourtas - 03/22/2013

Thank you for your stay at our cabin, sorry you had some issues which I wish you would have called while you were here so I could have sent someone to take care of it. As I stated when giving you the check in instructions I gave you my cell # to call with any issues or questions. Staying in the mountains has it's perks but there are a few downsides one that we deal with quit often are the ladybugs the park releases them into the National Forest to help with the beetles that are eating up certain trees so being this close to the National Park we get ladybugs in all the wood homes here our cleaner who has been with us for 6 years always vacums them up between each rental and with a longer rental they might accumulate before check out. This is the first complaint of cleanliness and I will make her aware of your concerns and like I said if you would have called she would have went right out to address them then, she takes pride in her work. As you can see from the previous rewiews words like spotless and clean were used over and over so I take this very seriously as my goal is to have 5 star reviews. Glad you had a nice vacation.

We stayed at this cabin for my husband's birthday and had a blast. There was plenty of room for our huge family and friends. The cabin was spotless clean and was absolutely beautiful. You never know what you are going to get when you book online but I trusted the previous reviews. From the moment we walked through the door, we knew it was going to be a great trip! Teri (the owner) was very helpful and answered any questions promptly. We are a family who loves to cook so I was afraid we wouldnt have all the appliances needed. Once arriving I was amazed at all I didnt need to unload out of the car. Just my rice cooker!!! Lol!!! Kroger is about 10 minutes away which was very convenient!!! We will definitely stay here again. Soon!!!

Love every minute of this place. The photos do not do Justice for this place. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer. The place for spotless cleaned and well stocked with everything! The only problem was not able to use our cellphones and laptops, the reception was not good..but we enjoyed it still! We will be back, next time longer!!

What a great time! The cabin was fabulous! We had plenty of room to spread out and the kids loved the game room & theater. We did not even go out to dinner because we enjoyed making dinner in the cabin. The first floor has a large game room, theater, 2 queen bedrooms, full bath, and laundry room. The main floor (2nd level) was completely open!! We enjoyed the living room, kitchen, & dining room and everyone enjoyed sitting, eating, and talking at the "big table". This floor also has a fabulous king bedroom & master bath, and a powder room. The wrap around porch with rocking chairs & gas grill was great, too. The upstairs loft (3rd level) features another king bedroom, sitting area, and full bath. Almost every sofa on all 3 levels has a pull-out bed. We visited with a total of 13 people from age 7 to 69 and it was perfect!! Great location, very private, wonderful !

We were in awe of how beautiful our cabin was, big and spacious. the location was minutes away from all the attractions, we all enjoyed the theater room, the kids loved the game room,most of all we were ecxited to be able to stay in such a beautiful place and not have to spent thousands of dollars.

Terri was very prompt in addressing any concerns and questions we had. This home is beautifully decorated. We cooked in and found the kitchen well stocked with everything we needed. There were plenty of towels and blankets. The view is awesome. It was very relaxing to sit on the deck in the rocking chairs and look at the mountians. The only real problem, our stay was to short .
One caution is there is a lot of stairs. My grandson loved the hot tub. My husband and sons enjoyed the pool table. we also had movie night in the theater room. This cabin has everything.

First of all we wanted a cabin with no worries of getting stranded if winter weather hit, which has happened a few times on our annual Feb visit. And not too far of a drive to Kroger or into Pigeon Forge, or even to Cades Cove. Perfect amount of room, huge, open main level..and for us, it's all about the kitchen!! Lots of counter space' seating. Very comfy beds. A few of the kids brought xbox and the owner was so awesome to hook up wi-fi for us so they could play live!...we hardly saw them between that and the gaming console in the game room, tho they did come around when hungry! We will definitely be back to this cabin, no more looking around for that perfect one..this one has it all!! And when I had any questions, Terri was very prompt getting back to me...Love love love Bearskin Lodge!! Thanks for the memories!!
