      Awesome Babymoon!!

Left on 04/03/2013 for a stay in April 2013

My wife and I stayed at Buckhaven for a babymoon while she was 5 months. It was perfect and she loved it. Our only complaint was from not warning us not to follow our GPS since they give us the address for your GPS in the directions. If you follow your GPS you will end up driving up the side of a mountain on a dirt road which isn't really a road. Other than that we had a blast and plan on staying there again.

Couldn't get to the washer and dryer cause they were in the basement and it had a padlock on it. The bed was worn out also.

      Could be cleaner

Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in February 2013

The fireplace didn't work and it was not as clean as I would have expected. The location was kinda hard to find especially in the dark but the way it was situated on the property made it private.

      picture perfect

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My husband and I stayed a weekend in the Buckhaven in January. It was exactly as beautiful as the pictures. It was clean, cozy and we loved the location. We put the address in our GPS and it took us directly to it. It was our first time going to Gatlinburg and renting; I know we will be back and we will be renting from this company again.

      Great vacation spot

Left on 11/26/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We had a little issue with getting into our cabin even though the concern had been voiced ahead of time. During this process we found that 24-hour phone number provided does not appear to be managed 24 hours a day. Once office hours were opened, though, the staff was friendly and quickly righted the problem. The cabin was gorgeous and had everything we needed. We would go here again as the stay was great.....we would just make sure to arrive at the cabin during business hours in case there is any trouble getting in.

      Cozy and Romantic

Left on 10/20/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We felt very comfortable at this cabin. It was just the right size, with the right amenities, and was clean, which made it cozy. The only problem we had was with the fireplace, because it wouldn't stay on for very long. Otherwise, enjoyable and wish we could have afforded to stay longer! :)

      Buckhaven

Left on 10/16/2012 for a stay in October 2012

The house itself was very earthy, and although only had one bathroom inside the main bedroom, was still a nice stay. Location no view that would lead you to thinking you were up on a mountain. It felt like we were in the country but did not leave us feeling inspired in any way. My idea of the perfect mountain retreat is not so much the cabin it is the location and the view. I left the organization of the trip too late to get what I wanted and Elk Springs Resort went out of their way to help me get something. So I will say that I was very happy with the attitude of everyone who worked there. Thank you Elk Springs!

Not clean enough, not up to date!

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012

The Cabin was not up to date, the TV remotes and the DVD player were not working. The Hottub was dirty and had not been cleaned there was a bloody bandade floating in it with several other things. There was No excess to the washer and dryer and it was raining during our stay, I have stayed in Cabins before that were more user friendly and much cleaner.I dont think that I could tell my friends that they should stay here!

      Nice, clean cabin

Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Buckhaven is a good-sized one bedroom cabin, with private wooded views during the summer. There are a few other cabins near that will be more visible when the trees are without leaves. The cabin is clean, and in good condition. The drive to and from the cabin is a bit steep in places, as is the case with many of the cabins in this area. Access during the winter may be a challenge. All our contact with personnel from Elk Springs Resort was first-class...far superior to the level of service one generally gets from hotels. We had one issue with the electronic door lock not being programmed long enough for our stay, and would have gotten locked out had we not identified the problem before leaving for the evening. One two-minute call to maintenance identified the issue, which was corrected remotely while we continued on with our plans. Very pleased with Elk Springs Resorts personnel, and Buckhaven.

A few things should change at BuckHaven

Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

To whom it may concern, let me preface this by saying that my husband and i enjoyed our stay at BuckHaven. However, we do not feel we got our moneys worth. A few simple changes could have prevented this from happening. So please take the following into consideration for future occupants. First, the kitchen, had no spare trash bags for the garbage can, no decent cutting knives, only steak knives which were almost impossible to prepare food with. The front right burner to stove was not working & the stove/oven generally lacks in any cooking power. Also the spin tray in the microwave does not spin, therefor food isn't warmed up consistently. When we first arrived i noticed it was clean but when i started to unpack our belongings i noticed the floors were dirty (hair) especially on the rugs, ceilings had cob webs, and the windows were unpleasant. Another thing that would have been a deal breaker had we known about it ahead of time was the drive way! It really needs maintenance. Not only is gravel a terrible idea for a steep drive way but there's also awful holes in the drive way that are impossible to drive around! Hated this! Also there's no way to turn the living room fan on, none of the switches work for it! I would atleast make the customer aware of the key to the down stairs laundry area. When we arrived I spent some time looking for the washer and dryer and finally noticed it was in the basement area behind a padlock with no key in sight. After calling the resort I was contacted later telling me where the key was located. The high windows really need a good cleaning, they were nasty. There were several wasp nests under front step/porch area, which made going outside to the jacuzzi unpleasant. For my last critique, it's a little awkward that there is no over head lighting above the indoor hot tub area. Again we did enjoy our stay but these few changes would have made a world of difference. Thanks!
