Blythewood, SCThere are better views than here...
Left on 02/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Nice enough cabin overall; well furnished, and the pool table was great, but there is not much of a view; pool is unheated; and hot tub was not very clean and smelled nasty after second day. Kitchen could be better equipped (no electric can opener, no cutting board, no griddle or nonstick frying pan). Bathrooms have no counter space. Our biggest issue was no satellite reception on any of the televisions and no internet service in the cabin. Obviously, we didn't go to the smokies to watch tv or be tied to the internet, but both are advertised as amenities, and we would have liked to catch the news and the occasional program. Some in our group had work and/or school-related projects that required Internet access so it was a real hassle not to have it. After numerous phone calls to various contacts, a service person arrived, but he readily admitted he knew nothing about computers, and he did well to even find the satellite dish. After an entire day was spent waiting for promised technical help, another service person arrived. By that time, we had already determined that the smart cards were missing from several of the televisions which accounted for no satellite reception on those, and one of the men in our group bought a cable in town that, once connected, provided reception to the tv in the media room. After several hours, literally, we had to ask the service person to leave because he wasn't doing anything we hadn't already done, and by now it was after dinner, and he obviously had nowhere to be. We were "compensated" for the lack of satellite and internet, but the hassle was too, too much.
