What Past Guests Are Saying
My husband and I wanted to get away for the weekend and I had always wanted to try a cabin in the Smokey Mountains. Well, needless to say, We found a nice little cabin. The part I liked best was it's location. We were just minutes away from all the attractions, yet far enough out for some peace and quiet. The cabin was just right for just the two of us. Everything was clean and orderly. Could use a bigger pool table though. Also, could have done without all the steps up to the Great Escape, so if you are older you might not want to stay in this particular cabin. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.
It was a great escape
Really enjoyed the great mountain cabin. It had everything we needed. Enjoyed the hot tub. It worked well because we had children and grandchildren one night and there was room for all. There are a lot of steps but they were lighted well. We also loved the closeness to everything and yet the seclusion in the woods.
A Great Escape
As always great times at Little Valley. Staff is always nice and cabin was clean. I think the fish are trained not to bite down on the hook. Watch out for the little scorpians...daughter was introduced to two in one week..
First off, the cabin was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay except for a few problems. First of all, if any water was being used in the cabin, there would only be a very small trickle available in any other faucet. It took the washer about 90 minutes a load because the water flowed so slowly.I read a review of this cabin written awhile ago, and the water issue was mentioned. I really had thought it would be fixed by now and went ahead with our stay.
Housekeeping could also improve. One member of our family dropped something and had to reach under the bed. She pulled an unopened condom out from under the bed. There also was a beer bottle next to the hot tub. There is a rug in the living room and it really needed to be swept.
On the upside, the staff was friendly and the property beautiful. This resort is very close to Pigeon Forge, yet you are still away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown. The pool was clean and refreshing. The mini golf looked fun and the grounds were very well kept.
I would give it another try, it really is a nice place to stay.
Great Resort- Terrible UpKeep/ House Keeping
The amenities at this resort are wonderful. Putt Putt, Ponds, and Pools are very nice except the two giant snapping turtles someone had shot and just left to rot where people are supposed to enjoy themselves. We got in late the first night (like 11pm) so we didn't notice much about the cabin. We got up very early and began our day in Pigeon Forge- again not taking a lot of time to exam our cabin. We returned that evening we found a total of 4 live scorpions in various areas including the bathroom sink and one dead in our queen bed. Then to make matters worst my 7 year old found a condom in the queen bed. This led to us examining the bed only to find pubic hair and the wrapper to the condom. There were cobwebs and dried up stuff in the bath tub so I had to use my vacation time cleaning out the tub. The lights and jets on the hot tub were also not working. Needless to say we paid almost $500 for two nights in a place nastier then most low end hotels. I'm not good with complaining or confrontation so I kindly told the desk clerk what we had experienced- she offered nothing but a giggle and some magnets. I was so disappointed with this trip- explaining to my 6 and 7 year olds what it was that they found in the bed was also lovely. We are choosing not to add the pictures of the condoms and disgusting sheets!! It was awesome having my entire family sleeping on a couch for vacation. As a business owner myself I would suggest someone get a major grip on their housekeeping and managements staff asap.
Response from Little Valley Mountain Resort - 06/15/2013
I am sorry that you had this experience. This is Not our normal business practice. We know that the Most important aspect is to Always have CLEAN Cabins....On rare occasions we have issues with a new housekeeper that dosn't meet our standards.. I hope you will come back to Little Valley and give us a second chance. Sincerly, George Rainwater Owner
My Fiancé and I were looking for a wonderful place to get married and when searching the Internet we found Little Valley Mountian Resort . It looked so beautiful and had a chapel on site . My stay at Little Monutain
It was great. The staff was helpful and the view was awesome. Definitely couldn't complain about the accommodations. If you stay, you wont be disappointed.
Mostly positive comments
This cabin is very nice and clean. The wireless Internet did not work. The steep steps were a challenge carrying in our belongings but we looked at it as a workout. Clean and spacious. There were wasps flying around the cabin. when I called the front desk they offered me a can of wasp spray if I wanted to come get it. Someone with an allergy to bees be warned.
Would stay here again.
Very clean & nice, but...
The cabin was beautiful & clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. This would have been the perfect stay except... I wish I had known they had Well Water. I chose this cabin for the whirpool tub for me & fishing for my husband. The water was dark brown- so I did not get to enjoy the tub. Also, I did not pay enough attention to the picture on their website. The cabin is on a hill, a steep hill. That meant we hiked up 40 or 50 steps each time we left the cabin. I would recommend this cabin, just read this comment first to give a heads up. (My husband said the fishing was great!)
A Great Escape is just around the bend!
Friendly faces to greet you as you enter the resort.. a nice clean cabin awaits with all the essentials.. a perfect getaway for Thanksgiving for a family wanting to start new traditions. A Great Escape is just around the bend.. the stairs are a good workout and we enjoyed the view, the golf, the fishing.. it was our "home away from home" in the Wears Valley area.. we will be back to Little Valley properties - the quieter side of the Smokies... we spent much more time in the cabin on this trip than before!

Very private and romantic
This cabin and the location was great. We enjoyed our time there very much.
We rented the cabin for a long weekend and generally enjoyed it, especially its location. The hot tub was nice and the cabin was clean when we checked in. We did not like the lack of any closet space in the bedroom, nowhere to hang up clothes so we left most of them in our baggage and hung some on the railing. The other issue we had was the lack of a dining table/area. There was only a small space at the kitchen counter/bar and two stools. It looked like the dining table had been traded for a foosball table in its logical location.
The facilites were great. The cabin was secluded and private. We really enjoyed the ponds where my wife spent time most every day. The putt-putt course and corn hole games on the property was a welcome addition for evening activities. The staff was excellent and worked with us to ensure our stay was pleasant. I highly recommend this group.
