Winchester, kyQuaint but has maintenance issues
Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This was a lovely little cabin and very secluded. Interior was clean and well stocked for a comfortable stay. However, the gutter system on rear porch was in need of repair and from the looks was in this condition for several years as the dripping water had damaged the porch swing. The condition of swing ws so terrible half of it had turned green and rotted the wood. It was the swing that prompted my wife to select this particular cabin and she would not sit in for fear of it colapsing.

Quite a steep hill to the cabin and had trouble getting our low to the ground car parked. The jetted tub downstairs was filled with dead spiders and flies, so we didn't even use it. We had to call the tv repairman to fix the downstairs tv because it wasn't working. The telephone didn't work for half of the first day (another repair call). The bedroom was nice, but the towels wouldn't even fully cover an average-size female upon exiting the shower. Overall, the cabin would have been bearable had it been properly cared for. But, I would not recommend it to my friends or family.

bloomington, inNice, private little cabin
Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We really enjoyed our stay in Ooh La La. The cabin was very private and we liked that. It was also a little smaller than expected, but it really was perfect for the two of us. The wooded view out the back was nice. Was a little surprised by the garbage littered about in the woods around the house. Why not take the time to pick it up? You coudln't see any other cabins off the back deck and it really did feel seculded.
Only a couple of negatives...first, the pool table was worthless. The sticks were cut in half (b/c the room was so small), the tips were cracked and the table was incredibly uneven. Worthless. I think they would be much better off putting in a little dining room table or a table and a dart board or something like that. The other thing, and really what bothered me the most, was that the jacuzzi tub wasn't operable. You could fill it with water, but the controls had completely been removed. It wasn't that big of a deal that it didn't work, what bothered me the most about it was that we weren't told. Seems a little underhanded to me for it to be broken to the point that the controls are completely removed, but you don't warn your guests that it is inoperable. We would have rented the cabin regardless, had we been told. That just really left a bad taste and made me wonder about the integrity of the resort.
Other than that, we really did have a great stay. -

This is our fourth time to Little Valley and we have always been satisfied. My husband and I enjoyed every minute while staying in the cabin Ooh La La. The only downfall was we had to leave to get back to chaos. We have also brought our two daughters with us twice and they love it just as much. We will definitely be back!

Our Wedding & Honeymoon at the Little Valley Mountian Resort was fantastic!! They made all the arrangements for Noel the minister, she was wonderful!! She took lots of pictures and had a wonderful ceremony for us in the beautiful little chapel! We were married on Oct 24th, the leaves in the Smokies were at their peak and the veiws were out of this world!!
The location of the resort is off the beaten path but very close to Pigeon Forge,Gatlinburg and Cades Cove. Very convient no matter how long your stay will be in the Smokies.
Our stay in the Ooh La La was also great! I had read reviews saying there weren't enough towels and such so we took our own but didn't need them there were plenty! The cabin was clean and everything worked properly.
The only thing we could have ask for was they should have left some type of directions for the Hot Tub controls I beleive all rentals should do this just because not everyone has one at home! Thankfully we knew how to operate it but everyone does.
If you are looking for a weekend get away or a Honeymoon cabin that is very private, this is the one for you! The resort staff was great, they went out of thier way to make sure we had a wonderful ceremony and stay at the resort!
We will stay there again! Thanks to everyone at Little Valley for making our wedding and honeymoon a wonderful fun filled week we will never forget!! -

We absolutely loved the cabin. It was perfect for us! Every night or two, as we sit on our own deck overlooking a gorgeous view of the parking lot, we say..."Boy I wish we were back at the cabin..." It was so relaxing and everything was so clean and decorated nicely. The pool table was an extra bonus for us as my husband loves to play pool and I enjoyed him teaching me the game :)
We'll be back...
Until then...Respectfully,

Christiansburg, VALove the Place but a little disappointed with a couple of things
Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The place is beautiful! The location is great! Views are amazing. Hot tub and spa tub were wonderful. we were a little disappointed in the over all cleanliness. I kicked off my shoes and my socks were black in no time. there were also a lot of cobwebs around.
though it said there was wireless internet, I could not find information on how to connect and guessed at the password and connected but could not connect with the web, only "local".
I was also really surprised that there was no hair dryer onsite. We travel quite a bit, and this is the first place I have stayed in many, many years that didn't have a hair dryer mounted in the bathrooms.

UNHAPPY IN KENTUCKY
Lexington, KYFailed to meet my expectatio.
Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The cabin was not really clean ... pictures on the web were not similar to the web advertisement. The staff at the check-in point have no ability to control Comcast and other situations that arise. My internet was down for 2-days and I was directed by the staff to contact Comcast. Why would your customer have to deal with anything such thing regarding a problems with your premises? After arriving at the cabin and reviewing the literature discovered there were no refunds! I can't believe that a paying customer would simply have to accept any problems with broken air conditioner or rickety fans. The fans in the cabin were noisy! We had to make a choice either be hot or deal with the noise from the fans. I was also surprised to learn that the property was off-road. We had several rainy nights and the dirt road was washed-out. My experience with your cabin was terrible to say the least. I think that it was to rustic for my spouse and I. I have resided at similar type properties and was pleased with the services and accomodations.

We had such a great trip! Was just what we hoped for...quiet, private, and all in a wooded setting. We have talked about it long after our stay was over...one of the best vacations ever! We even had a little bear come up to our front porch while we were eating dinner! We are definitely going to return...to the same cabin, within the year...can't wait!!

We stayed at Little Valley Mountain in the "Ohh La La" cabin for a family vacation. Overall I would say that the resort is mediocre. I would have expected more for the price that they are charging. For example, they only give one roll of toilet paper per bathroom for the entire stay, beyond that they charge you per roll. They provide very small, cheap towels that you are expected to wash with the one box of soap that is provided. Also, the stocked fishing ponds are not that well stocked and the poles provided are only cane poles and you have to buy your own bait at $3 for 12 worms. Finally, the minigolf course is not impressive in anyway. The cabin itself was OK once we cleaned up the dead bugs. There were definitely plenty of spiders and scorpions, most of which were usually confined to the bathtubs. We did have family staying at some of the larger cabins on the other mountain and they did not seem to have the same problems with bugs that we had. Overall, the resort was OK, but given the high number of available cabins in the area I don't know that it was worth what they are charging.

The cabin was beautiful and very "homey". There was absolutely nothing lacking in amenities. I personally loved the jacuzzi inside, but the first night we used the hot tub outside it poured down rain, and oh, the thunder and a little lightning.I've always said that I wanted to dance in the rain(in my birthday suit). And I did just that on the balcony. Our cabin was surrounded by tall trees and we had privacy provided by Nature herself! I adored the cabin, the service by the wonderfully sweet people who checked us in and out,the pond we fished in where we met some great friends that we still keep in touch with. The worst part about this resort was having to leave it! I think I saw Ralph Waldo Emerson amongst the oak trees in the distance. OK, I was trying to wax poetic. Go to this place; it's heavenly!

Beautiful, wonderful setting. This cabin is very
spacious for two people. The lofted bedroom,
overlooking the living room, has a tremendous view of
the valley below. No other cabins within earshot or
view. You have a little bit of the Smokies all to
your self. I did not see any cabins in this complex
that I would have preferred. Ooh La La exceeded our
expectations. Great place to get away with your best
friend. I hope to return to Ooh La La soon... -

We wanted a secluded place for our honeymoon and Ooh La La fit the bill. It is very quiet and located away from the main resort. There is good fishing in the ponds--bass and catfish, and plenty of wildlife to see. We even left a picture of our favorite raccoon on the fireplace mantle! There is really nothing we did not like, except for the incessant rain. Everything was wonderful!

We have stayed at Little Valley Mtn. Resort
several times and have always enjoyed it. This
cabin was great for privacy but it needed to
be cleaned better. There were a lot of cobwebs/dustbunnies etc. It was the dirtiest
one we've ever stayed at in your resort. It may be partially because it is an older cabin.
We did enjoy the fireplace etc. The flying
squirrels scratching around at night could be
a little annoying but that's just part of nature- which we enjoy. Thanks.

Left on 12/03/2008 for a stay in November 2008
My wife had always wanted to stay in an isolated cabin in the mountains and we had never had the opportunity. As part of her 60th birthday celebration, this was part of her surprise. We loved the secluded mountainside, the woods, the colors of the leaves, the sprinkling of snow, the essence of the smell of the natural environment, and the animals.
We spent time together on the porch in the swing enjoying each other and nature. All the amenities in the cabin were fabulous and relaxing. Whether it was watching satellite tv, reading a book, enjoying the hot tub, or listening to the night sounds and looking at the night sky, we fell in love with the whole area.
We also spent time visiting the local area attractions and would arrive back at the cabin to enjoy food prepared on the grill.
Sounds as though we were in paradise - well it was - and it completely met wife's desires to stay in a cabin in the mountains. She is sharing her experiences with anyone who will listen. I am sure others will follow.
The price is very reasonable and the service is superb.
This mountain top retreat, Ooh La La, is highly recommended. -

My wife and I rented it for two nights. We arrived in the evening the first night. Upon going to bed there was a disgusting smell coming from the bathroom. We had to shut the bathroom door for the night.
There was a pool table that had multiple pool cues, all of which had bad ends making pool play very difficult.
There was no floor threshold going into the bathroom. Therefor, everytime we stepped there, we stepped on tacks.
The sink in the kitchen sprayed water from the spray faucet everytime the water was turned on.
There were many dead bugs and cobwebs throughout the cabin. To include in the tub.
We decided to leave one night early due to multiple problems. We didn't want the trouble of having a person trying to come in and fix these problems on our vaction time.Response from Little Valley Mountain Resort - 11/12/2008

Overall the cabin was really nice and we had a great time. The only real issue that we had was getting stuck in the driveway and having to call a towtruck to move us just a few inches so that we could get in and out of the drive. I just recommend getting that area paved, as it was scary enough to drive up the mountain, but then to be stuck and have a huge truck come bail us out... well, that was really the only issue we had. overall, it was very nice. thank you.

Only this I didnt like about the cabin was where you have to park and there being NO light to see where you was walking.
