Everything was just as depicted in the pictures and descriptions - only better! The three levels worked out perfect for the multiple familes; plenty of room for all.
However, being at the top of the mountain does have its downside - it was about a 15-minute ride to get to the bottom of the mountain to get the main street of Pigeon Forge.The narrow mountain roads were a little hairy for a city girl like me. And of course, as harmless as they were, I could have done without all the lady bugs.
But overall, it was an excellent trip; definitely worth considering going back again! -

This is the second time we've used american Patriot Getaways, but our first at Southern Sunrise. One Word "Awesome"! We plan to return again next year, all of our group was extremely happy with the accomodations, with one exception, not a fan of the Dish TV.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The cabin was beautiful and so clean. Everything you could ask for. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. The hot tub on the deck overlooking the Smokies was awesome. Will definitely stay with Patriot Vacations again.

This was such a great cabin. I especially liked that it is rather secluded. It is currently the last house on this road and the nearest neighbor is off in the distance. Do note in the one layout it shows two sofa beds however there is only one sofa bed. The sofa in the main livingroom is just that, a sofa. I also agree that the tv set up is a little confusing. The views were beautiful, the house feels like (or maybe it really is) just kind of hanging off the side of the mountain. The road getting to it is a little narrow in spots and that can be a little frightening but I wouldn't trade the location! American Patriot Getaways was great, we did not encounter any hidden fees like many other rental places which is also a huge plus! The cabin is far enough out of town to enjoy the mountains, but only a short drive to Pigeon Forge and not too far of a drive from Gatlinburg (although we did find it nicer to park at the visitor's center and ride the trolley to Gatlinburg). The cabin is just beautiful, the floors are just as pretty as in the pictures. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay in this cabin again. I actually have already recommended this cabin to a friend. With the current 50% off special, we paid what I felt was a very fair rental rate.

This cabin was out of the way. We had trouble finding it the first time. The sign at the bottom of the hill was obstructed by folliage. We thought we were lost. No rowdy neighbors to bother you was a plus. Awsome views. The cabin was nice. Only a few small issues. We brought the max occupancy. This ment we had to use the hide-a-bed and there were no sheets for it. There were plenty of extra pillows but no cases. We had trouble with the alarm system. These issues were not enough to ruin our vacation.

The home was beautiful and very clean. The check in and out was effortless and the staff was very helpful and personable. I have stayed in the area usually 2 times per year and this is one of the nicest places we have found so far. Would recommend to all my friends.

Our family came to the smokies to celebrate one daughter receiving her Master's degree and another daughter getting married in the smokies while we were there. The home southern sunrise was spectacular! The home was the perfect size for our family and the views from the upper deck was beautiful. The location was very easy to find and the amenities for the southern sunrise cabin was great. The thing we probably liked best about the cabin was the huge upper deck, and the serenity thay we felt being there. If I had to say one thing we liked the least it would have to be to enough time there!

This cabin is easily accessible but secluded at the same time. We had a few minor problems that I called the office about on our arrival. The maintenance man arrived before I thought was humanly possible and quickly and professionally took care of the issues. There is a persistent problem connecting to the internet via wifi, but it didn't impact our vacation. I made the mistake of booking with a different company last year and will never do that again! My experience with aPG has always been one of excellence in cleanliness and professionalism. This cabin is a good value. The TV setup in the main living room is fun once you figure it out. The setup downstairs was ideal for setting up our wii and playing games.

The only problem we had was getting the satellite T.V. To work had to call in maintenance to fix it. -

We loved everything about our stay at the Southern Sunrise from the beautifully appointed house(even down to the decorated Christmas tree) to the unbelievable views(miles and miles). Everything was perfect!

My wife and I stayed here for a week with friends. We loved the cabin. It is secluded, away from any other houses which we loved. Now the trip to get up to the cabin off the main road was very curvy but only took about 10 minutes to get to the cabin. We were a bit dissapointed though by the televisions and dvd players. My wife and her sister had problems (two different tvs) getting the dvd players which were attatched to the back of the tvs to work. There was only one remote we could find but there were no instructions. We ended up calling for assistance midweek. A man came up within an hour of our call. He stated that the only way to control the dvd players was to use the buttons on the top of the TV. Since they were wall mounted up high, it required my wife and her sister to climb up on chairs to control the dvd player. They had to climb up on a chair to control the volume, the pause/play/stop/fastforward buttons, everything while the dvd player was being used. Now if sattelite was being used- the remote would work. This is exactly what the man that came out told us to do- stand up on a chair and control the dvd player. He was nice enough to place a chair by each television. This seemed a bit ridiculous. We also had problems with the surround sound in the main living room. There really should be more detailed instructions concerning how to work all this equipment. And there really should be a remote for the dvd players!!! Overall, we had a great time. The hottub was amazing and very clean. The view was amazing. If the tvs/dvd players had worked better we would have no complaints!

We loved the cabin and the view was awesome. We were very pleased with the customer service. We called to start the fireplaces for the season and in a short amount of time they were there. The location was quiet, the cabin was beautifully decorated, and had all of the upper scale amenities. We were so pleased with this cabin and would love to stay in the cabin again.

Great place, awesome location, awesome view. Would stay here again. Great for large familys. Had problems with the direct tv, and the tv in the downstairs bedroom, not that big of a deal, didnt even report it. Didnt go to mountains to watch tv anyway. :)

We went on Spring Break with our 2 girls (7 and 8) and another family of 5 (9, 12, 14). There was enough room for every to have a bed. The kids loved all there was to do in the cabin. It is a little of a hike to get to the cabin from the main road but it was definitely worth it. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. Would stay again.
