it was great we got to see a raccoon trying to get in our trash. and the last day we stayed there it snowed it was breath taking.the cabin was so spacious and beautiful.

First impression of Shagbark community was excellent. Very friendly & helpful guards at the gate as we were in and out of the area often during our stay. The drive along the creek was peaceful and beautiful. Upon our first left turn heading to our cabin, we were greeted by a tremendously steep incline of a paved road that soon became unpaved. That was exhilarating! We'd never experienced such a drive before and it certainly added to our excitement! The cabin was clean and well-stocked as promised, and decorated for the holidays. We truly enjoyed our 4-night stay in Golden Eagles and look forward to future vacations in aPG cabins.

We stayed in Golden Eagles 5 nights. We really liked the location and setting of this cabin. There are neighbors but you are not stacked on top of each other nor can you see each other. We liked that. The view was really beautiful. It is not a long range view of endless mountain tops but it was absolutely beautiful.
The cabin had all the amenties we needed,however the showers were not as nice as you would have expected in a cabin labled "luxury". They are very much like what is installed in rv campers and sort of cramped. The bedrooms are nice and roomy enough as are all the bathrooms.
The road up to the cabin was better than most mountain roads and well maintained. After a heavy rain one night road crews came through and leveled out the ruts from the heavy drain off. That was very good!
We liked the fact that this cabin is in a gated community and felt secure leaving the cabin for the day.
There are bears in this area and they visited every night! We did have our Boston Terrier with us and she was kept on leash constantly when outside.
The biggest let down for us was having no internet connection although all our neighbors did have so this is a choice the cabin owner has made. For this very reason we will not stay in this cabin again. There are lots of cabins in this community that we would stay in though.
All in all, this was one of our nicer stays in the Smokys! I would recommend this cabin to anyone, just be aware of no internet service.

After searching for months we decided on Golden Eagles. After staying in many 5 star chalets in the past trips to the smokies we were pleasantly disappointed in this chalet. The Patriot Getaways website has this chalet ranked at a premium plus level but after arriving and staying for 4 nights I would strongly disagree with the great 5 star or Premium plus rating. Golden Eagles, although may have been a very nice chalet in the past, is showing a lot of wear and tear and I would give it a high 3 or low 4 star rating. The cabin is also decorated with around 30 crucifixes all throughout the cabin, around 5 in each room. Even though these did not bother myself or my family at all, I can only believe that it could bother some guests on arrival. The cabin is also located in Shagbark which is somewhat off the beaten path and not very well up kept; for example we barely saw stop signs because of 6 ft tall weeds.

American Patriot Getaways provided us with excellent service. No jumping thru hoops to set up vacation. Very helpful and easy to deal with, easy to check in. They had everything ready for us when we got there, even towels & rags. The home was very nice, clean and felt like home. This was the best place we've ever stayed while on vacation. The home has spectacular mountain views. The road going in is steep but its worth the view once you get there. We will not hesitate to stay here again.
