Chambre des counchers de soleil~~this is definitely the "house of sunsets"-the perfect cabin for a honeymoon, romantic interlude or simply a getaway. Located in Eagle Crest Resort you will have a peaceful mountain setting, but be close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to enjoy a myriad of attractions in the area.
On your first evening, beverage in hand, watch the sun slip behind the mountains from your perch on the deck or from the warmth of the tastefully-decorated great room.
After the "sun's show", retire to the couches by the fire and watch your favorite show on the 46" TV, or hang out in the loft with billiards, air hock...ey, video arcade, or even take a soak in the upstairs whirlpool. Finish off your evening with a fire in the cozy bedroom.
Upon waking, breakfast leisurely on the deck or in the dining room, having prepared your meal in the well-equipped kitchen, and gear up for an unforgettable day in the Great Smoky Mountains~~~looking forward, of course, to another magical sunset from your own lovely private accommodations that evening.

Do not consider staying in the cabin Magical Sunset until the owner makes structural improvements. The pictures of the cabin are misrepresented, you do not have all the beautiful views, just one. The deck railing needs to be replaced as it is rotten, and you could get seriously hurt if it gave way, which is just a matter of time. You can't turn off the hot tub as the buttons are corroded. The couch in the living area has holes in it and is broken down. It is like sitting on the floor. The bed linens are worn out, have holes in them as well as the sheets. There are only 3 Bath towels provided which means you will have to wash if you stay more than two days. All of the doors leading outside squeak terribly and the deck door facing is pulling away from the wall. This is also noted on the inside as well. The cabin is severely run down and needs a complete makeover. It reminds me do a cheap motel certainly not worth what we paid. I do not fault Dollywood Cabins as they did the best they could with what they have permission to do from the owner. The cabin was clean and sanitary. We talked to the staff and recommended that they not rent this cabin out until all the structural problems were addresses. Magical Sunset should be renamed Magical Nightmare!

Cable tv, wireless Internet, gas log fireplace in living area and bedroom. Very very nice. Couldn't be more pleased. Literally 5 mins from Dollywood and pigeon forge. Happy happy happu

We had the best time! The Dollywood Cabin was the perfect fit for us. The sunset was amazing. We chose the length of stay pass for Dollywood and it was well worth it the kids enjoyed several days of fun. There are so many great things to do in the area.
Great cabin but...

the instructions for equipment and especially the hot tub (internal) were not easy to find.
no lock on the door leading onto the balcony with a very large drop underneath- a great concern with a 4 year old travelling with us!!! we ended up wedging a door under the handle so he could not wander during the night.
the cabin felt quite well worn and in need of maintenance.
otherwise it was good. Dollywood great for families and overall good experience.
location good - but need some warning of the treacherous road up to it!

Magical Sunset delivered just that, amazing sunsets. Nice, clean, comfortable cabin high on a mountain, what more could you ask for. Great place for a honeymoon or anniversary celebration. Although the drive up the mountain was a little unnerving for me, it was worth it once at the top. A trip down the mountain puts you in the middle of restaurants and entertainment of all kinds. The hot tub was stuck in economy mode but maintenance came up and quickly had it fixed. Check-in staff was very nice and answered our questions/gave suggestions about the area. We would definitely stay here again for another weekend getaway. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the cabin (except the drive) and it met your expectations. We do have cabins that set down a little lower and the drive to reach them is very pleasant. We looking forwarding to seeing you and your family on your next trip to the area!
It was okay, nice to get away.

We were a little disappointed that some of the panes of glass in the cabin needed replaced, it really took away from the views from the inside, it did have a pretty sunset view. The black couch needs to go in the garbage, very uncomfortable to even try to sit on...the bedroom was nice but not really any place to put clothes, the little dresser in there isn't really a functional piece, I would replace it with something newer that could be used. We had a nice time there and for the $99 a night for off season it was a good deal being we had a hot tub outside. We have stayed at Dollywood Vacation Rentals before and plan to return but probably wouldn't choose this cabin again. I did like that when I was in the kitchen I could just turn around and see the view and that the dining table was right in front of the glass...
The most horrible vacation I can remember.

We have stayed in several cabins over the past 12 years in the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area and this is by far the worst. To start the complaint, there was not enough hot water to fill above the jets in the Jacuzzi tub. It didn't matter, the tub didn't work. We were told that a hot water heater was broken. After the maintenance person fixed it, there still wasn't enough hot water. The chair was broken upstairs, the dart board was broken, the sofa sleeper was so old and the mattress so flat that the springs were coming through. No bedding for the sleeper. It took eleven hours to have one blanket delivered. The bathroom smelled like a public restroom, meaning it had a strong urine smell. There was no way to heat the cabin in a uniform way. If it was warm in the living area, it would be too hot to sleep in the bedroom. Our complaints were handled in an "oh well, sorry about your bad luck" way by the office staff. Dollywood is our main attraction when we come to the area and we loved to stay in the cabins until this trip. I personally would like to have my money back, but realize that would not be considered. We spent almost a year saving money to spend Thanksgiving there. It was the most disappointing vacation that we have ever had.

The cabin was spotless and looked brand new! The view was beautiful. We bought the Dollywood package deal that included admission, parking, Q2Q, and a buffet at Dollywood. I really feel like we got a great deal! My only caution would be that the cabin would be difficult and scary to get to in snowy/icy conditions without tire chains and/or 4 wheel drive. In spite of this, I gave it 5 stars on location because the cabin is called Magical Sunset, and it is the location on the top of the mountain that makes the cabin live up to its name. The cabin was very cozy, even though it was 22 degrees outside! Great vacation!
The most breath taking view a person could ask for.

This was our first vacation together in our 12yr relation and sort of like a honeymoon since we never got to take one after we got married. I have been to Pigeon Forge many of times but this was my husbands first time there and we loved it so much. Magical Sunset was a beautiful cabin inside and out. The view from that deck in the front was absolutely breath taking. We were only down for a few day's so there were so many thing's we would have like to have done but you are limited as to what you can do because there is just so much to do. I would definitely recommend any of my family and friend's to visit there. The service we received was excellent, everyone was real hospitable and we loved the home and all the amenities. What I liked best was the privacy you had, and the view's.
Time for an update.

The cabin location is of course wonderful and you cant take that away, and the folks at the main office were very nice. The issue is this cabin really needs some work and tender loving care. From the fireplace rock's falling off to the old hazed over bay windows that you cant see clearly out of. The large couch as others stated has lost its zip and it really sags. The TV [on top fireplace] is up so high your neck hurts after 30 minutes of watching. The pool/game table that's not...leans so bad the balls roll and roll and roll.. I would get rid of it and add a desk or small couch up there. All the deck furniture is very old and needs to be replaced and or re-done. The biggest thing to us was the growth of brush and tree's that are beginning to block this wonderful view, this is really what you stay here for and that to us is what's most important. Overall we did have had fun and it was very clean.

Magical Sunset lives up to its name, and sitting in the hot tub was a great place to experience it! The road is a bit scary to get up to the cabin, and our poor little 4 cylinder wasn't too happy, but it is beautiful, and the cabin is in great condition. They even deliver pizza to it!
Our only complaint is that we had our 2 children with us, and had planned to take advantage of the pull out couch for them. There was no blankets for the pull out, and with the only bathroom being in the bedroom, it was a bit strange. The kids ended up sleeping on the couch cushions on the floor since the pull out mattress was the worst I have ever seen.
We still had great fun using the pool table, air hockey and arcade machine. Have definitely recommended to friends and family, but will get a second bed next time.
Great trip ever!!!

The cabin - very relaxing. Great for a small family. The loft is a lot of fun. While the pool table is not level, it was a lot of fun. The arcade game has many games from the 80's. Lots of fun and no quarters needed. The cabin is 15 minutes from Dollywood. The drive up the mountain is an experience - very windy and high up! Really nice view. Yes, the sunset is magical, especially sitting in the hot tub. Ordering pizza? I recommend Mafia Pizza.
Downside: the pullout couch has an awful mattress. My son slept on the couch instead. Cost was on the high side.

The cabin had a nice view. The furniture was nice. The fireplace was great. I liked the decor. However, the pool table that flips to an air hockey table wasn't what we expected. The table isn't even or something because the pool ball would stop and then keep moving. Also, the DVD player in the living room wasn't working correctly. The kitchen had dirty silverware in the drawers and no baking sheet. Our visit was enjoyable overall but for the price we expected everything to be clean and in working order.

The cabin was poorly stocked. My family and I rent a cabin 3-4 times a year and although this was a nice cabin, not what we expected and definately overpriced. Fireworks bearly visible through the trees. We were lead to believe we would be able to see them from the cabin. My kids were so disappointed in this.

Every aspect of our stay at Magical Sunset was amazing and made for an incredible vacation. Check-in was easy, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The cabin itself was fantastic! We were able to enjoy the most beautiful sunsets from the outside balcony and most of the rooms inside the cabin. The name of the cabin is perfect - the sunsets are magical. The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We loved the full kitchen and used it daily. I have nothing but positive feelings and memories of our stay at Magical Sunset. I would highly recommend it to a friend, only when we weren't visiting again!! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I absolutely loved celebrating our anniversary in the magical sunset! It was clean and beautifully decorated! We loved having champagne in the hot tub looking out at the amazing mountain view...it was absolutely beautiful, private and relaxing.
We also had so much fun playing air hockey one night up in the loft! The included tickets and parking passes to dolly wood was also great to have, we had fun there as well riding roller coasters for the first time in years, enjoying much needed time together.
It was also nice to have a full kitchen to cook some dinners...and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. It was exactly what we were looking for and we will definitely be back!
Only negative was that it was a bit pricey since we stayed during a holiday week and if it snowed more than it did, the roads up would be scary!...but they were fine when we went in December.

This cabin was absolutely beautiful and the views out the windows were breathtaking. It had a very rustic and romantic feel to it while being very comfortable. It was very high up the mountain, but worth the drive. I would definitely stay at Magical Sunset again!

The view is unbelievable, and although there is a cabin next door on one side, they are arranged in such a way that it feels completely private. The cabin was very clean, with the exception of a number of dead black flies near one window in the living room (the number steadily increased during our visit but we never saw where they came from). The pool table isn't really usable (all the balls roll to the center), and the darts for the dartboard were all broken, but the air hockey was fun. The flat screen HD tv's were great, and we got a ton of channels, but the receiver boxes aren't HD for some reason. We loved the hot tub and fireplaces (used them morning and night!!). The towels were plentiful, thick, and very clean. The bathroom was also very clean, although the shower has poor water pressure (not a problem in the sinks). The bed was not extremely comfortable, but we did appreciate the different thickness of pillows available. All in all, we had a fantastic visit and will definitely be back. Prices were a little high, but that's the area.

The service that we received was excellent and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the cabin and how the cabin was decorated. There was one picture that we really liked and I have been trying to find it online. The cabin was just right and the pool/air hockey table was a lot of fun and the arcade game. We thought the hot tub was a nice touch. The location of the cabin provided beautiful views and pictures. The only thing I would change about the location of the cabin is loading it up and taking it home with me. Thanks to everyone for making our 2 year anniversary wonderful. Read more

This was our first time stay in a Dollywood cabin. We were very pleased with the cabin and the view from the back deck. The only disappointment we had was not enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi. Otherwise, we had a very relaxing time. Also, enjoyed being close to restaurants and shopping. Plan to take our golf clubs next visit.

We were pleasantly surprised with this cabin, especially the view and the hot tub! We had everything that we needed and really enjoyed the free parking at Dollywood in the gated parking area! Plus we were able to go multiple days to see everything! We enjoyed the convenience of the city of Pigeon Forge, Tn at the base of the mountain and the short drive to Gatlinburg! It was beautiful and we cant wait to return!

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The cabin was adorable and the view from the back deck was breathtaking! There were a few wrinkles (grill was gas even though the manager assured me Dollywood had no gas grills, keypad on cabin wasn't reset so had to wait outside for 30 mins after checking in for maintenance to come) but everyone was very friendly and resolved our concerns the best they could. One other note is that the cabin is cozy, and the bedroom and bathroom are very small! We had three people in the cabin and it was sort of awkward to share the tiny bathroom since you had to walk through the bedroom to reach it. Also the gas fireplace between the living room and bedroom is see through, so if someone is sleeping on the pull out sofa, they can see into the bedroom. Not a big deal, but I could see that being a concern depending on who is sharing the cabin. The glorious deck (plenty of room, chairs, hot tub!) made up for the lack of space inside, and the living room felt large due to the amazing high ceilings and windows. The loft above had a free working arcade game and pool/air hockey, and jacuzzi tub, which was a lot of fun! The only note about the loft is that it is open, so if someone is watching tv in the living room below, the noise from both the tv and the pool table/arcade/air hockey kind of ruins the relaxation element for everyone. I guess my takeaway is that for a couple, there is plenty of space, but for three or more it's a little tight.

We were terribly disappointed with the quality of the cabin. We were expecting a "luxury cabin" as described by Dollywood. The ceiling leaked and dripped at the top of the bannister of the stairs (slippery when wet), the bottom part of the shower curtain was covered with mold/mildew, and lastly both the sofa bed and the main bed buckled in the middle. We ended up having to sleep on the floor the mattresses were so bad. Other than that, the Smokies was great. Loved Dollywood theme park. Will not rent another cabin from Dollywood though.

Home was very clean, beautiful & located just far enough away from the main road & businesses to make you feel like you were out on your own, but the Dollywood staff was only one phone call away and their service and friendliness was exceptional. A private luxurious retreat just minutes away from a fantastic little town with a million things to see & do and every restaurant you could hope for. We always vacation at the beach, but this added a whole new alternative for us.

Although this was not our first visit to Tennessee, Dollywood, etc., it was our first time renting a cabin anywhere for vacation in our 27 years of marriage and it was a positive experience. The service was friendly and accomodating to any and all of our questions. The cabin was wonderful at first look around. While unpacking and settling in, we noticed excessive cobwebs, dead bugs on upper and lower windowsills, and animal dropping on the deck obviously not from a bird. We wondered if we were the first to rent for the season and the 'deep' cleaning had not been cared for before our arrival. We decided to overlook these minor problems and instead be thankful for the beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere this cabin offered. The 10 minute drive up the mountain to the cabin's location was intimidating, at first, but as with anything, the more we drove it the more comfortable we felt. We would feel blessed to have another opportunity to repeat this experience. We do hope to visit Tennessee again, including Dollywood, Gaitlinburg and surrounding areas. A most memorable vacation spot!

The cabin was beautiful and a great view at the very top of the mountain. We got one good sunset. The only complaint is that half the jets in the hot tub were not working, the jaquzzi wasn't working and when filled up the water was brownish, and I couldn't find the lint catcher in the dryer and I was worried about drying anything. Other than that it was nice. We had a great time! Read more
Thank you for posting a review of your recent visit and alerting us to the problem with the hot tub jets. We will have our maintenance team respond to correct. The lint collector on the dry for that cabin is inside the dryer on the back of the drum.

Queen bed and one bath was definite step down from other cabins we have stayed at. In addition, the one bathroom was slightly larger than one on a cruise ship. Sleeper was awful as a couch or bed. View was nice, but not worth the drive to the top of the mountain.
