United StatesGreat cabins/rooms for visiting Seward
Left on 08/22/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We had a lovely time visiting Seward and staying at angel's Rest for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Heron's view room, which did have a great view and nice accommodations/amenities. We appreciated the fridge, coffee maker, and rocking chairs. Room was very clean as well.
Everything was just what we expected because the hosts/owners provide guests with so much information about the cabins and things to do in Seward. I wish all hotels would do the same!!
Only point for people considering staying here - you definitely need a car and bring your own shampoo. Then you'll love it!
We'd love to return to angel's Rest in the future, maybe for an anniversary :)Response from LAMPinAlaska - 08/24/2011

We also hope you'll visit us again for an Anniversary! By the way, the soap in the dispensers in the showers is a Dial brand "Hair & Body Shampoo." So, really no need to bring shampoo unless you have a favorite. We'll make a note in the paperwork so others will be better informed. Thanks for letting us know we need to clarify that point! Thank You again, Katharine!

We enjoyed four nights in the Gatehouse Cabin. Great views. Comfortable bed. Nice viewing chairs. Cooked a little bit. Slept like babies. Very friendly owners. Wi-Fi was a pretty spotty in the cabin. Eagles and otters outside the windows. We would would stay here again. Hope to return someday soon.

We greatly enjoyed these guests and appreciate the review! The Gatehouse cabin is the furthest away from the wi-fi hotspot, which is why the signal can be a little spotty, depending on the guests' equipment ~ some equipment is better than others in terms of pulling the signal. If it's super important to be able to stay connected, smart phones work great! Except in some mountain passes, there's really good cell coverage in most urban areas of Alaska. 3G even! We also have a nice covered porch where guests can sit and use the wi-fi, if they have distance issues in their cabin or room. Thanks again for the post!

We had a terrific stay at Cloud 9. The view was stunning whether sitting on the deck or laying in bed. Owners were very helpful with local information and what to do and see. If we ever get to Seward again we would look there first.

Our stay here was so inviting. We felt like invited guests in a private home-not like paying customers. Although we never met our neighbors-the owners-we felt their hospitality every moment of our stay! The cabin was clean and comfortable, though I admit I spent more time looking at the view than the cabin! We saw several orcas swim past our deck, (one was a baby!) and the ocean waves woke us up one night as they gently splashed just feet from our cabin at high tide.Angel's Rest was a perfect place to "reset" our spirits to vacation mode so we could settle in and enjoy our trip to alaska.
