paris, tnGreat value for multiple nights in Seward

Stayed at Beach House #2 four nights with daughter and son-in-law. The owner was very helpful with reservation and directions. Master bedroom on main floor with 2nd bedroom upstairs made for ideal situation for us to have "own" space. House is delightfully quaint, with lots of character. It is ideally located only about 2 miles out of town, close to beach and hiking trails on Lowell Point. Still able to quickly drive into town for other attractions. It is more casual than luxury, but we knew that going in and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. If we had a family reunion/vacation we most definitely would rent the Treefort House, on the same property.

Pacific NorthwestA little too rustic for us
Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We stayed three nights in Beach House #2. It just wasn’t the cozy beach house we expected, but more like a rustic fishing cabin. And we’re not the rustic fishing cabin type.
Pros:
• the owner Claire was very kind and responsive by email during the reservation process, and also afterwards about our lost umbrella
• the cabin had been cleaned, the beds were made with clean sheets and there were plenty of clean towels available
• the downstairs bed was comfortable
• we saw Bald Eagles right on the beach, and sea otters eating shellfish in the water near shore; there were bird feeders by the cabin frequented by lots of magpies, etc--fun to watch
• we discovered a great coffee shop/laundromat—Sip and Spin in downtown Seward, owned and operated by a lovely young woman. She serves good coffee, soups and sandwiches, and has comfortable seating for while you wait for your laundry
Cons:
• the long (1.5 mile) drive down a dirt (muddy in our case, since it rained most of the time we were there) road to get to the cabin
• the weather—no fault of anyone’s, but not seeing the sun for our entire visit was a bit depressing
• the upstairs bedroom is up a steep stairway and is tiny with a head-bumpingly low ceiling
• the bathroom is claustrophobic
• the main living area is quite small
• musty smell in kitchen cupboards
• audible noise from renters of other three places one night while they were at the firepit
• internet reception was spotty
• general rustic feel to the entire place -

We spent four nights here (three in Beach House #2 and one in Treefort apartment) and loved it. It was only two of us but there was plenty of space for more, the kitchen was supplied with all the basic supplies we needed. We also liked the quiet of Lowell Point.

We stayed in the Treefort House unit during a family reunion in Lowell Point. It was a wonderful solution for extended family. We used the very comfortable, quality sofa bed and I was the lucky one who slept in the upper bedroom. My mom relaxed and enjoyed the cozy, comfortable main floor bedroom. The stairs may be difficult for mobility impaired guests but no problem at all for us. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of all the extras - tourist brochures, an information binder, binoculars, reference books, Alaska magazines and other mags, bestsellers, fully equipped kitchen and lots of extra towels. and supplies. We noticed other guests enjoying the lovely barbeque / fire pit facilities. The location is perfect - across from the beach and incredible scenery of the bay. We saw otters, baby birds, eagles, seals and even killer whales in the distance. In the evening after full vacation days, I enjoyed peaceful walks up and down the road, along the beach, watching all the actrivity - kayakers, fishermen and campers in the area.

Nice little house, plenty of room for the five of us. Laundry was convienent as well as gas grill just outside. Perfect place to stay for your homebase in alaska. Easy walking to town or boat peer to check out the day's catch. Tons of stuff to do in Seward, we went ice climbing and sea kayaking, as well as whale watching (and we saw a ton). Everything is included in the house including a dishwaser and coffee grinder. This was our second stay in 3 years, and we will probably stay here again next summer!

We stayed in the Tree Fort apartment. It was very private, quiet, warm and clean...very important to me since this was our first overnight trip with our infant daughter. We used the kitchen to make a meal for 5; plenty of space. They had a pack 'n' play we could borrow, so our daughter even had her own bed. I'm a nature lover, so I couldn't get enough of the massive trees and ocean breeze! Really a special spot. I even saw a hummingbird hovering in the window! If only it had been a warm weekend...oh, Alaska :) We will be back!

We rented Beach House #2 for our vacation in June. On our way into town we stopped at a fresh fish market and picked up some halibut. Upon our arrival to the beautiful cabin we got settled and walked down to Miller's Landing. What a gorgeous and unique spot. There were two river otters that were constantly playing in Resurrection Bay. We went back to the cabin and grilled our fish while having a wonderful campfire. The next day we took a boat tour of Kenai Fjords National Park. It was on my 32nd birthday. I have never seen so many sea animals in one day in my life! The accommodations were absolutely perfect. We were traveling with my in-laws and the cabin was private enough for two couples. We loved Seward!

Staying at Beach House Rentals was an amazing experience!
The house was cozy, clean, and had all the necessities - and the outisde firepit was an added bonus to sit and watch the fire (along with a few burnt marshmellos)
Thanks Claire - we'll be back next year!! -

Cozy little cabin with enough room for two adults and 3 happy teens. We booked through the Lowell Point website--but recommend using the owner's personal site. Honestly, I was impressed with how clean it was--we have stayed in motels that were not as clean. Everything you need for meals is there and plenty of towels for showers too! Unlike a motel, the kids could stay up all night laughing and playing games and not disturb neighbors. We had a great time and look forward to returning.

We stayed only a few nights at the treefort house but would love to come again for a longer time. From the moment we drove up and saw how the house set among the evergreens of this northern rainforest we fell in love with it. We immediately started a fire in the fire pit so we could enjoy the extended daylight outside without becoming chilled. The house itself was acually a second and third story cabin with lots of natural wood and alaskan decor. Well stocked for with tools for cooking and great views of the trees and wildlife from the living room or loft. It was a quick walk to the public acess of the bay as well as Miller's Landing. We did a fishing excursion as well as sea kayaking through miller's Landing. They were all super friendly and helped with tools we needed for prepping fish. Lowell point is a few miles from Seward, a distance that could be hiked or biked if you did not wish to drive. All of the beach rentals are clustered together, so an extended family would enjoy renting several of the cabins and could easily spend time together. We had some problems with the door lock on our arrival and Claire was very easy to access and took care of it the next day. Again, we would love to come back here and stay for a longer time..the bay with the majestic black mountains across the water are just so inviting!
