The « Gîte des Silves » is a large and charming stone house located on the border of a mountain hamlet at a height of 1400 m, on the GR6 track through the Southern Alps. The house is enjoys sunshine throughout the day and is only a 10 minutes drive from the ski resort of Saint-Jean- Montclar and a 15 minutes drive from the lake of Serre-Ponçon (beaches, waterski etc). It sleeps up to 12 people and has 4 bedrooms, one mezzanine with 5 beds, two bathrooms, a large and well equiped kitchen, a dining room, a living room with fireplace, a veranda and two outside terraces with panoramic views. The "Gîte des Silves" is located on the border of a very quiet hamlet with only a few houses. It is surrounded by fields and enjoys lovely views towards the mountains and the skislopes of the three ski resorts of the valley (Vallée de la Blanche). The small medieval town of Seyne-les-Alpes is only a 3 minutes drive away. It has all shops and restaurants. The Southern Alps are renowned for the sunny climate they enjoy: 300 days of sunshine a year! The area is still very wild and authentic: no mass tourism, lots of hiking trails and many possibilities for sports: skiing, canyoning, rafting, gliding, ...
Both the airport of Marseille-Provence and the train station of Aix-en-Provence (TGV) are a 2 hours drive away. There are buses from the airport/train station to the ski resorts of the valley. The house has a private parking lot just in front.

Idyllique !
Pour commencer, un accueil chaleureux des propriétaires qui ont été bien patients de nous attendre car nous avions un peu de retard sur l'horaire prévu.
Ensuite un superbe séjour cet automne, avec les couleurs magnifiques des mélèzes ocres sur fond de ciel bleu et les premières neiges sur les sommets. Et tout ça dans un chalet super douillet, magnifiquement décoré et super équipé. Avec en prime, le midi le repas sur la magnifique terrasse avec vue imprenable sur la vallée et en fin de journée, l’apéro au coin du feu. Que rêver de mieux ? -

This comfortable and very stylish home has everything you might need for a holiday in the mountains. In the winter, you have skiing on your doorstep and in the summer, it provides an excellent base for exploring/hiking in the breathtaking countryside that surrounds the area.
The house is immaculately presented, very clean and the decoration throughout makes for a very warm and cosy atmosphere.
Seyne-les-Alpes, a couple of minutes drive away, offers all the amenities you might need during your stay: shops, post office, doctor etc.
