Located in the mountains of East Tennessee. Two bed room one bath log cabin. The perfect get away. Mountain stream out back and a pond in the front yard. Sit on the porch and enjoy the scenery, or hike the nearby Appalachian Trail. Ride bicycles on the Creeper Trail or sit by an open fire.

Located on a mountain trout stream in North East Tennessee between Boone, N.C and Bristol Tennessee, in Shady Valley Tennessee. Close to Damascus and Abingdon Va. Fishing on the property with hiking the AT and bicycle riding on the Creeper Trail close by. Close to many out door activities and local attractions. There are three beautiful lakes and trout rivers for fishing near by.

Loved this cabin from the moment we arrived. The pond & fountain in front made a great first impression which carried through the extremely clean, up-to-date inside and outside grounds of the cabin. We could relax on the huge wrap around porch, fish in the pond or peaceful mountain stream running directly behind the cabin, or feed/pet the farm animals. Tom & Dee were extremely hospitable the entire time with reglar check-in's to make sure we didn't need anything. The town of Damascus, Va is very close by where you can go and take a bike ride on the Va Creep Trail or just grab lunch/coffee/dessert at one of the local businesses. We are sending our parents here this summer for their anniversary and can't wait to go back ourselves!

My husband and girls just happened upon this place while driving north looking for snow. It worked out great. We really were just wanting a place to play in the snow since we don't get any at home. The little pond out front was pretty and the brook in back was babbling. The setting is serenity itself. The cabin was super clean. I loved sitting on the front porch and watching the snowfall. It was lovely and quiet. Tom and Dee were wonderful hosts, Tom even lent us a sled and found us a hill across the road to slide down. It was absolutely perfect. I would love to go back in the summer to see if it really is mosquito free or in the fall to enjoy the color.

Wow!!! What a great getaway in the wonderful Tennessee Mountains. The owners have gone above and beyond with the amenities in this cabin. We have stayed in a lot of cabins and vacation rentals, but this was by far the cleanest and most well equipped. When they say bring only food and clothes, that truly is all you need. We highly recommend a stay in Tom & Dee's wonderful cabin.

Lovely place in the East Tennessee hills. We stayed here three nights to recharge the batteries on a long road trip and it was the favourite place we stayed in. Cabin is in beautiful surroundings beside the creek and Tom, the owner, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Would love to return here one day.
Ps Would strongly recommend doing the Virginia Creeper Trail bike ride out of Damascus. -

We loved our visit to Tom and Dee's mountain cabin. The setting along the banks of the babbling creek was so peaceful and picture perfect. We were able to enjoy the views of the creek and the pond in front of the cabin from our windows and from the lovely wraparound porch. There was also a nice swing next to the creek that was perfect for reading or just relaxing. The cabin itself was very charming. It was extremely clean and very tastefully decorated in a fisherman decor. It was cozy and yet spacious enough for our group to be able to spread out and relax. We loved the chocolate chip cookies and bottle of local wine that awaited us upon arrival. Tom and Dee were wonderful hosts and we very much enjoyed getting to know them. They provided us with great information about the area and by the time we left, we knew why they had fallen in love with Shady Valley and East Tennessee!

My Family and I spent a weekend in this wonderful cabin (this cabin is clean,clean,clean!), by an awesome creek! The kids loved playing in the creek and fishing in the pond. Tom and Dee were wonderful hosts and made us feel as though we were at home! The campfire our final night was a real treat!

This was our third visit to the cabin in Shady Valley and we have another planned for the Fall to enjoy the autumn color. This cabin offers it all: a quiet retreat with easy access to hiking, biking and fishing. We highly recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors and peaceful surroundings. It is our favorite get away in Tennessee.
