Shap is a small village in an elevated location amongst the fells of the Eden Valley located close to the M6 motorway and the west coast main railway line making it an ideal base to explore the Eden Valley, Cumbria and Lancashire. The village has 4 pubs, a small supermarket, newsagents, coffee shop, fish and chip shop, whilst the busier town of Penrith is only 10... miles north. Shap is ideally located on the famous Coast to Coast walking and cycling route.
Middle’un has recently been used as the owners own “bolthole from city living” and they have now decided to share this cosy apartment with those looking for affordable accommodation with walking and cycling opportunities from the door. Located on the edge of the village within 2 miles of the M6 and within a 20 minute drive from Windermere.
Middle’un is heated by night storage heaters and comprises:
* Shared entrance to the 1st floor.
* Open plan lounge with flat screen plasma TV and CD player.
* Kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and coffee maker.
* Double bedroom with rural outlook.
* Children’s bedroom with single bed that can fold out to make a double bed (please advise at the time of booking).
* Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
All prices include all taxes, gas, electric and bed linen. Please check property description to see if towels, logs, coal and cots are included free of charge or at a supplement. Middle'un was exactly how it was described on the web site,a lovely,clean,comfy,well equipped apartment,it was like home from home.
It is in an idea place,straight off the motorway and very handy to visit lots of lakeside towns,we had a fantastic time and will use it again.

Well equipped, modern flat which is light, airy & quiet. We were worried about the proximity of the railway line but it wasn't an issue at all. Easy to find. Good facilities within the village - newsagent, butcher, Co Op & 3 pubs all within 10 minutes walk. Nice walking from the door & only a short drive to Haweswater which is quiet & provides good walking.
