      The fish are amazing !

Left on 01/18/2013 for a stay in December 2011

Great apartment with lovely sea views. Maid cleaned everyday and made some lovely animal creations with our towels. The highlite for us was wandering down to the pontoons and watching the most amazing coloured fish in just 3 feet of water. The staff were friendly and most spoke English. Make sure you do the submarine trip, we booked ours from the beach. Gamal arranged the taxi to meet us at the airport a lot less hassle for us , ty Gamal for a great stay , look forward to doing it again soon . Very warm in December we have fab tans !

Great apartment close to the beach

Left on 01/08/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We stayed in this apartment for 1 week prior to Xmas 2012. It's a lovely apartment close to the beach, with sea views and has all the right facilities. It's within the Pyramisa hotel complex which is deemed a 5 star hotel but whilst the hotel is good it's not a 5 star in my view. However the apartment is excellent, reasonably priced and has all the mod cons you need and expect: tv, music system, good shower, cooker etc. I didn't use the Internet dongle or washing machine which are also available. The apartment is cleaned daily and treated like a hotel room and is always in good clean condition. There is a Carrefour in Naama Bay which is a short taxi ride away and I recommend using the hotel taxi service guy even if it is more expensive. I would also recommend walking down to the Sharks Bay beach 300 yards away from the Hotel for more laid back cafe's and bars, a good diving school and away from the many Russians that dominate the hotel. As nice as they may be they are pretty noisy nation. Overall I would highly recommend this apartment for a beach family holiday with easy taxi access to Sharm's: Naama Bay,Soho and all the tour operators from Naama Bay will pick up here. Great holiday and would do again...

Left on 01/05/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We had a great short week staying the apartment. It is set in an excellent resort with lots of amenities and is also near the pools and the sea (with a great reef for snorkeling on). There is the option to go all inclusive with the resorts many good restaurants ($50 a day including all food and drink). There is also a well stocked kitchen but a trip into Sharm would be needed for food and it can be tricky eating at the restaurants without the all inclusive pass as they do not take other people often, most people on the resort seemed to be all inclusive.

This was a great holiday though with time spent diving, camel trekking and water skiing. Would definitely come back again in the future!

      Wonderful holiday

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We had a wonderful holiday which was more than we ever expected. The chalet was very spacious and comfortable and the view was fantastic. It was a real joy to open the curtains each morning! We went on 3 trips. The first one was a boat trip to Tiran island where we stopped numerous times to snorkel and scuba dive. The sea was so warm and clear and the quantity and variety of fish was amazing.Snorkelling was also first class from the resort beach. Our other trips involved flying to Cairo for the day which was well worth it and a jeep safari to St. Catherine's monastry and the coloured canyon. The monastry was excellent but the canyon was a bit disappointing as it is very small and not even that coloured!! The jeep was very hot and cramped. Our other days were spent at the resort which is well kept and attractively laid out. The pool by the beach was quiet and deep enough for me to swim lots of lengths. We ate in the buffet restaurant in the main building - the food was good value and good quality. All the staff were friendly and helpful. House-keeping kept us well supplied with bottled water and clean towels for a small daily tip.
Overall, an excellent place to visit to get some winter sun - it was hot every day with no clouds! We will certainly visit again.

How about watching the sun rise over the red sea right from your

Left on 11/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012

from the fabulously located chalet #9540 of the Pyramisa resort in Sharm El-Sheikh. The description of the owner of the chalet is truthful and reflects all its features, including comfortable furnishings, and daily full housekeeping service. Guests will not be disappointed and will find that it is not at all necessary to rely on the resort facilities for meal services. The location of the resort right on a live reef provides an ideal opportunity for snorkeling or introductory diving. Para-sailing and wind surfing are also available right from the diving jetty . The perfect location makes it unnecessary to go out of the resort to take part in any of the water activities that a traveler to Sharm El Sheikh is looking for. For those who are inclined to explore the area around the resort, taxi service is a must and it is most unfortunate that one would have to bargain/haggle with the driver before the trip to avoid unpleasant surprises. Two people who are part of a limousine service, and whom I dealt with and found to be polite, reliable, reasonable and easy to work with are one with the name Hany, whose phone number is 01003637687 and the second one is Saiid, and his phone number is 0162259909. Those prospective guests at the resort will not be disappointed if they decide to deal with them for their transportation needs to shopping centers or nightlife areas. All in all my stay was most pleasant, satisfying and rewarding. I look forward to longer future stay in 2013 and beyond.

Left on 10/25/2012 for a stay in October 2012

I stayed at the "private" Chalet #9540 at the Pyramisa Resort for over a week in early October 2012, and was impressed by the care the owner is taking into making it a home away from home with all the amenities that one would like, or expect, to see. It was very clear that he takes pride in making his guests feel as comfortable as they could possibly be during their stay and he is always eager to please. The snorkeling at the resort is fabulous and is what I was primarily interested in. A Jetty allows to take the plunge with ease to where you can spend hours of endless fascination with the undersea life that Sharm is famous for. There is no need to take any trips to Ras Mohamed, or the Island of Tiran for that matter, since you're not missing anything by staying right at the resort. There is a big problem with taxi gouging of tourists in Sharm because they refuse to work with meters, yet I found a driver whose name is Hany who appeared to be willing to be more reasonable than most. His phone number is 01003637687. You can tell him that you got his contact info from this review.I am looking forward to staying at the same chalet in 2013.

Me and my husband was very pleased with the villa, its the last villa in the row so private and quiet but with all the amenities of the hotel. We loved the massive swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds. Lovely kitchen, living space and bedroom, the only slight thing was i feel the shower was very small, but would definately rent again, great value for money and couldnt fault the owner with all the help i needed and prompt response to any contact i made. This was our honeymoon and thought it was a perfect place to stay for quiet, private relaxation.

      Lovely chalet with fantastic views

Left on 05/27/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The check in at the hotel did not run smoothly, but that was because a Monarch flight had been cancelled and there was 230 people to be checked in. We had to wait for a couple of hours before they showed us to the chalet. The chalet is exactly has it is decribed. It is well worth the rental money. The views are great, you look straight out onto the sea. The chalet was cleaned every day and clean towels were left. Although the hotel is massive, the chalet is situated in a peaceful area. My husband and I have been to Sharm El Sheikh several times previously and have always stayed in all inclusive hotels. Staying in the chalet and being self catering was far better. I would like to thank Gamal, he telephoned us on our first day there to see if everything was ok. I thought that was a very nice thing to do. When we decide to go to Sharm El Sheikh again, we will definately return here. There is an option of going all inclusive for a fee, but we didn't bother (some people did say that they were disappointed with the food), so we didn't eat at the hotel. We got either the courtesy bus or a taxi into Naama Bay and Soho square most evenings. I was surprised at the price of the drinks in the hotel, as we thought that they would be expensive. We had a pleasent surprise. I large bottle of beer worked out at £1.70. A glass of wine was about £3.00. I was also surprised when I went to get some soft drinks (coke and fanta), they were free. I queried this and they said that all soft drinks were free to everyone. If you do decide to buy any food items, go into Naama Bay to the Carrfour Supermarket, it is far cheaper than the mini market in the hotel. Once again Gamal a big Thankyou it was fab!

Perfectly placed, comfortable chalet by the sea!

Left on 12/29/2011 for a stay in December 2011

Gamal (the owner) couldn't do enough to help during the reservation process. He telephoned from London to assist with wi-fi. All questions were answered promptly. He arranged a driver at the airport and the hotel helped due to Gamal's request to do so.

The chalet has a lovely view of the ocean and Tiran Island. It is clean, spacious, comfortable and I cooked proper meals in the kitchen. The nearest supermarket was a 7 minute taxi ride away in Naarma Bay. It was possible to buy an all-inclusive package to eat at the many restaurants.

You can snorkel, use the pools, lounge on the sunbeds by the sea and use the gym for free. Beach towels are free.

Chargeable extras I used, were diving, para-sailing, health spa treatments and many excursion operators.

There was a live singer in the bar in the evenings and some kind of entertainment in a theatre-style room (whirling dervishes, belly dancing etc). The chalet is 5 minute's walk from the action and noise at Reception and so perfectly placed. It took about 4 minutes to get to the nearest little beach on foot. There is a constantly running shuttle bus to take you round the resort if you want to use it.

The vast majority of the other guests were Russians. They appear to get a bad press in many reviews so I take pleasure in reporting that they were lovely! Jolly, enthusiastic and no trouble at all during my stay. And it was a pleasure for me that they didn't moan at their children like the Brits do!

The weather in December was lovely and all the staff at the hotel were friendliness itself.

Highly recommended for a great value, relaxing holiday with privacy, the option to go all inclusive or self-cater, beaches, diving and other facilities on-site and a lovely comfortable base with gorgeous views. The resort is on a steep hill with many steps which may be a problem for some guests, but the shuttle bus irons out all inclines.

We stayed in Gamal's chalet in Sea Magic Resort, the chalet is ideal with one bedroom, a comfortable sitting room and a well equipped kitchen. The resort is lovely with two pools and one indoor pool, the hotel amenities are superb. The beach is less than a five minute walk from the chalet...the beach is beautiful and the view is amazing. We didn't take opt for the all inclusive option as we felt that we would prefer to try different restaurants locally. You can get breakfast in the main restaurant of the hotel for 50egy pounds (€6), lunch for 70epy (€9) and dinner for 100epy (€12) - the food is nice with good variety; I'm a very fussy eater and could always find something nice to eat. There are other restaurants onsite too but we only went to the Italian that's also good. We mostly ate in Naama Bay with Hard Rock Cafe being our favourite. We took trips to Cairo by plane, Mount Sinai, desert buggies & snorkelling/diving. We booked our Cairo & Mount Sinai trips in Fayed Travel close to McDonalds in Naama Bay, would definitely recommend both these trips as were excellent and great value for money, we enjoyed them so much. The spa in the resort is very good too and also good value for money. Huge thanks to Gamal he couldn't have been any more helpful and always contactable and I highly recommend Gamal's chalet for a self catering alternative. Huge thanks to Gamal for everything you're help was very much appreciated :)

The location of the chlaet within the resort is absoultely perfect! So lovely to wake up each morning to such beautiful scenery! The chalet is only a short walk away from the main beach and about a minute away from one of the swimming pools. Even the main swimming pool is only a 5 minute walk away. But if you don't feel like walking the bus service with friendly drivers is very frequent.

The chalet itself is lovely and has everything you would posibly need! I used the kitchen a couple of times to cook rather than go out to eat and found everything I needed to hand. There is a huge fridge, lovely dining table and chairs, sofas to relax on. The bed in the main bedroom was huge and very comfortable with huge wardrobe and dressing table. My two girls slept on the sofa bed and and had no complaints. The bathroom was nice and big with a clean shower and toilet. The cleanliness of the chalet and of the resort was immaculate.

My daughters loved every minute of the holiday, and the chalet really was like a home away from home. The garden area at the front was nice for them to play in whilst we relaxed on the porch.

staff at resort were extremely helpful and always friendly and pleased to see us. our house keeping was done by ahmed and ashraf who always did a fantastic job. The staff on the main beach, Abdul sattar and Mohammad were also great. The beach was very clean and the snorkelling was great fun! I would highly recommend the spa, the full body massages are great value for money!

I would like to thank Mr Gamals assistant abdo who drove us everywhere for the week. Recommended places to eat which were always lovely and picked us up from and dropped us off within the resort at the chalet, which other taxi drivers are not able to do, when the girls were tired this was a massive help.

Thankyou Mr Gamal for making sure we had an enjoyable stay and thankyou for the welcome pack you left us.

I went with a friend and realistically this is where we went wrong. Egypt is not really a place to go for two single guys to have fun but for couples and families it is ideal. As for the chalet and location, the chalet has all the facilities you need but do remember this is not a hotel room so come prepared if you are going self-catering. Towels are provided for but you should bring some basic cleaning aids, washing up liquid, soap. There is a cleaner who comes in every day who was nice and friendly although I wasn't too impressed by his idea of cleaning. I do have some nice photos of some animals he made from towels though! The chalet lounge has a good set up so if you want to watch films or play music then bring your Dvds and CDs.

As for the resort, we did manage to try the food there and it was OK but definitely not worth going all-inclusive. Saying that we were told by the management that we were not entitled to it even if we wanted to pay for the day. This is worth checking with Gamal before you book. Drinks are all-inclusive until 11pm so don't expect a late night of excess. You will need to go elsewhere for that if you don't want to pay ?9 a shot in the attached nightclub!

The resort has loads of places to sunbathe so although we went on a really quiet period (no americans, no Russians and as a bonus no sunbed hogging Germans) there should be plenty of sun loungers around in a busier period.

Overall I would heartily recommend this chalet to anyone considering self-catering and is looking for peace and quiet. Just make sure you get the driver to take you to the supermarket from the airport first and don't forget to buy the booze!

Very good chalet and not bad hotel either

Left on 02/12/2011 for a stay in January 2011

It's not often you read the reviews and agree with them all. This Chalet is very good, cleaned every day, clean towels, robes, every thing you would expect in a good hotel, even with the excellent towel displays. The house keeper was most excellent. Nothing was too much trouble
The photo's displayed are exactly as it was, the views are very good, looking out to Tiran Island, the Chalet is situated nr the beach which has excellent snorkelling from it, with no restrictions. It has a large reef nr it with walkways and pontoons on it.
The hotel isn't that bad either, very big complex, enough restaurants not to get bored, the swimming pool although bloody cold was good fun for my 4yr old son with little boats you can climb into. I would advise not going all-inclusive, unless you are alone and drink a lot... It really isn't worth it, it's not expensive. The hotel has good amenities with it's own mini row of shops which you can walk down and get hassled...all good fun though,on that point Naama Bay is only a taxi ride away 40Le(£4ish) the same for Old Sharm. If you want to haggle you could get it cheaper i expect. Don't use the hotel Taxi service or even the hotel bus, walk to the gate and get a blue taxi.
Ok back to the apartment, really was like a home from home, fridge, microwave, flat-screen TV and DVD player and most importantly for the kids and me Kids TV and Fox movies, didn't use the two ring thingy, ate out either in hotel or Naama and old sharm.
Definitely will be returning, Thanks Gamal and thanks for the meal.

Left on 12/11/2010 for a stay in December 2010

Fantastic and just as described and the owner could not be more helpfull and really ensured that we had a great time. The views are just like the pictures and the villa is just amazing with lovely kitchen area and big fridge and the bedroom had a bed that could of slept 5 people in it,this met our expectations and far far more and did feel like home so much so I was tempted to buy a few things for it and sadly remembered it was not mine !!
Waking up to that view is just amazing and the hotel it is situated was just perfect as was the assistant who greeted us from the airport and the welcome pack he left us.We are looking at re-booking for next year as my wife and I were so happy there

      Good value, well positioned accomodation

Left on 10/27/2010 for a stay in October 2010

      All aspects of the holiday were excellent. Of particular mention;
      - good location both in terms of closeness to airport - just right, close enough for easy access without inconvenience of excess noise - and position within Sea Magic Resort - great views over Red Sea.
      - very comfortable king size bed although would say that the fold up settee bed in lounge only really suitable for 1 adult which was okay for us.
      - everything available in chalet in terms of equipment - in fact we virtually self catered for the whole week.
      - perfect support available if required from "own" driver although like everything in Egypt you need to bring a little negotiation to the discussions regarding fares.
      - very impressed by the concern shown by the owner that we should enjoy our stay.
      - we found no issues with the resort itself even though it has very recently moved from Pyramisa to Sea Magic ownership. Staff were all excellent, pools and surrounds were cleaned routinely, towels freely available, plenty of sun beds around pools and on various beaches, fantastic fish to see when snorkelling which is made easy by floating pontoons. As we did not really use the restaurants prefer to reserve comment but we did not hear any complaints from other guests.
      - of course weather is always perfect which makes any holiday - we had sun and blue skies every day with 37 degs C during day and 25 degs C at night.
      - would strongly recommend taking one of the numerous boat trips to snortel over the coral reefs around Tiran Island - a great, good value day out - we paid £25 each.
Think we have covered everthing. If you do visit we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

      Chalet 3540 is a jewel

Left on 10/01/2010 for a stay in September 2010

The accommodation is exactly as is described in the brochure:

An excellent base to explore/enjoy Sharm-al-Sheikh.

Very near to the beach: This is very important as beaches are apparently all privately owned and some hotels require transport (and extra payment?) to get to a beach. The beach is clean, well equipped and very near to some wonderful reefs (a real heaven for snorkelling).

Located within a 5 star hotel: The hotel is actually very good, well equipped and is manned by helpful and well trained staff. As a guest of chalet 3540, you get to benefit from all the amenities and most services that this hotel has to offer. It has a number of good restaurants including chinese, indian, italian and egyptian. I found it best to not go for the all inclusive option, instead 'paying-per-visit' where it comes to restaurants. This decision was taken based on the fact that I was out on excursions half the time making the all inclusive rather trivial.

Apart from that the chalet is very comfortable. There's an adequately equipped kitchenette for those who prefer that, comfortable doublebed in bedroom along with an extra kid's bed and a sofa bed. Upon arrival we found that the overall cleanliness is good.

A small note on abdul, Gamal's assistant: We found that the best way to have him collect us from the airport was to give him a quick call to confirm arrival the moment we set foot in the airport. He was at the entrance of the airport within 10 minutes. The fee was 70 egp, but don't take this as a hard fixed rule, in Egypt you are expected to negotiate about prices and abdul is no exception. Getting abdul to pick you up and drop you to and from the airport is, in my opinion, advisable as he has got permits to drive his taxi into the resort (not everyone can) and therefore be able to simplify the transfer of luggages.

I look forward to spend more time in Sharm and would undoubtedly book my stay in Chalet 3540.

      Wonderful Red Sea Experience

Left on 08/13/2010 for a stay in July 2010

The chalet was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. It's situation in a resort gives visitors the benefit of using the resort facilities. The reef is amazing and the beach area which we mainly used was well kept. Some areas in the resort need to be 'pepped up.' I would not recommend that visitors use the services of the owner's assistant. We were originally told that transport from the airport would cost 60 EP, due to delays at the airport, we were 2 hours late and were charged the hefty fee of 200EP for a 10 minute drive. Although we were promised a deduction for our next trip it never happened and were again overcharged for the service. This was my second visit to Egypt and therefore have encountered all the excuses for overcharging and was thus surprised that the owner's 'trusted assistant' would try to take advantage of visitors.

      Dear Miss Natalie,
Thanks for taking time to review, I want you to accept my apology for the behavior of my driver,I hope this will not effect your opinion about my own sincerity and honesty.
I have originally employed him to look after my Chalet ie: deliver the keys, and the Chalet maintenance.
The taxi services he provides is an optional choice as I wrote in my adds, this is his main job there, and I have no benefits of renting his taxi, he told me that the 2 hours he waited in the airport cost him EGP 200, this is also what he usually charge me with similar circumstances.
When I said that I trust him, I meant other things is more important to me and my guests which is rare to find from the worker people over there, such as punctuality and honesty about money matters.
Unfortunately it cost me more, to have some one like him, for instance some of my guests has forgot property once in the Chalet and other times ln his car and he brought them back.
I also blame myself that I didn't look after you properly, because my mum has passed away in that week, and I had to rush back to Egypt.
Hope to see you again, and next time you will find better service, you are not only the Chalet Guest, you are also a Guest in my country of birth, in our culture as you may know have to welcome our guests, by offering the best we have.
      My very best regards

A warm welcome to fabulous Sharm

Left on 07/06/2010 for a stay in June 2010

We arrived in Sharm late at night but had a warm welcome from a taxi driver (organised by the owner) who took us to the hotel chalet. The chalet is exactly as described:- spacious, clean, nicely decorated, overlooking the sea and a short walk to the beach and swimming pool (although you could use the bus if you felt too tired in the heat). A thoughtful welcome pack was left for us. Although we were self catering most of the time, we had all the facilities of the hotel at our disposal and the staff at the hotel were pleasant and courteous. I would definitely recommend this chalet to anyone who wants to be able to access facilities of a large hotel but doesn't want them in their face all the time. Another highlight of the visit was going on the newly launched Nautilus boat trip (4 hours down to the National Park and back with viewing in submarine, snorkelling and lunch included), while a little pricey it was worth every penny.

      Perfect holidays

Left on 06/19/2010 for a stay in June 2010

I stayed there only for five days and actually I wanted to stay more but unfortunately it was already booked...I usually go to Sharm several times a year and i usually stay at hotels. This is the first time i rent a chalet. The owner is very decent and generous. He provided us with a driver who picked us from the airport. The driver is very helpful and willing to assist in every way. When we arrived at the chalet, we found complimentary water, fruits, cheese, etc. The location of the chalet is perfect, a very nice sea view. It is spacious and all kinds of facilities are available. You simply feel you are at home. There is small garden where u can sit and watch sunset... It is much better than a room in a hotel. The resort also is huge and there are all kinds of facilities. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach every half hour. Also there is a shuttle bus to Naama bay every one hour with fees. Several shops are also available in the resort for quick shopping. Definitely i will go back one more time, when i get another leave from work...

great place for a weekly break

Left on 04/15/2010 for a stay in February 2010

I stayed with my son for a week in February.

The apartment is very clean and comfortable and its owner helpul and friendly.

The view from the place was amazing, especially at the sunrise but the best thing was the sea- clean and warm.

Local restaurants offered variety of tastes and dishes.

From there, we took a trip to see the pyramids- unforgettable experience.

We had a great time and would definitely recommend the the place for a relaxing and fun holiday.

A great week in the sun

Left on 04/11/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We have rented this apartment for a week in march 2010. When we arrived, I was first really impressed by the luxury of the hotel complex where the chalet is located. Despite being very close to all the amenities of the hotel complex, the chalet is situated in a quiet part. The fact that a fruit basket and teas and coffees were prepared for us made us feel very welcomed.
The chalet itself is big, and has all the equipment you need for a holiday. The reception room is large and comfortable and is facing a beautiful sea view. The open kitchen is very practical. The bathroom is clean, hotel style, with a hair drier soap, towels. The bedroom is also very large with a comfortable king size bed. The best thing about this chalet is the sea view that you can actually enjoy from your bed, it is so relaxing. There is also a lovely terrace where we have enjoyed drinks while looking at the sunset ...
As for our stay, we have enjoyed having the freedom of being in our own appartment whilst being able to enjoy the facilites of the hotel complex such as the 3 different beaches, and the swimming pool. It was a good compromise between staying in a hotel and having a total freedom in organising our holiday. The fact that a driver is recommended by the owner to take us around and bring some shopping from a european supermarket made everything easier, as we were first worried about having to cope with food shopping while on holiday.
We would happily recommend this option , for a group of friends or a family, as it is a much cheaper option than going to a hotel, with all the advantages.
Sharm is an amazing city, full of energy and things to do, especially diving in the clear and warm waters of the red sea. We have really enjoyed our stay.
