Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Town: The small rural village of Alberbury sits in pretty countryside, 9 miles from Shrewsbury. There is so much to do in this area, from the ten museums of Ironbridge Gorge to the abbey, castle, shops and restaurants of Shreswbury. There are many National Trust properties within easy reach of Alberbury, including Attingham Park, Powis Castle, Chirk Castle and Erddig. Ludlow, with its castle and timbered buildings, is a lovely town for a stroll and a refreshing cream tea, or step back in time with a trip to Acton Scott Working Farm, seen on TV as ‘The Victorian Farm’.Read more

this is the largest unit of 6 or 7 in a farmyard courtyard . all apparently converted recently . the owners live in the farmhouse on site and are incredibly friendly and helpful . we regularly take breaks in holiday cottages/cabins and usually find it advisable to book a larger than advertised property to be comfortale - this is not the case here , all bedrooms are of generous size with good size en-suites , the kitchen is huge and well equipped . there is a huge dining room which also has easy chairs and a tv , connected to ( via open plan arch ) a massive lounge with comfy seating for all.
all fittings are of a good standard . outside has a BBQ with dining table , also a good size hot-tub . the only slight negative is that there is no "view" from outside ,
there is a barn play area with games and books to suit kids and adults .
overall i would say this the best we have visited as regards the property itself , just slightly marred by its lack of outlook . i would stress it is sensibly priced and extremely good value in comparison to most
