Gli Archi is an elegantly furnished 2 bed apartment with 1 bathroom in the historic center of Siena, just 200 meters from Piazza del Campo, famous for the Palio. This beautiful property can sleep up to 4 people and is ideal for short and long term rentals.
The Residence Gli Archi is located on the 1st floor of the historical residence called Palazzo Coli Bizzarrini, once known as Francesconi. Dating back to 1520, the project and the early stages of construction of this fabulous building can be traced back to one of the most famous architects of the Renaissance period, Baldassare Peruzzi, and the actual buildi...ng work was carried out by Pietro Cataneo. The palazzo was actually left "incomplete" in some parts and this has become one of the building’s main features and quite a charm for the people who choose to stay there. In 1906, the Coli Bizzarrini family bought the property and enhanced it’s original beauty thanks to a long and detailed restoration programme. This included restoring the magnificent frescoes and paintings which span a time frame of more than three centuries. The palace has been meticulously and beautifully restored by the present owners to create 8 luxury apartments. Each apartment allows guests to enjoy the magic atmosphere of Siena. The apartments overlook the rooftops and medieval narrow streets of this wonderful city which creates a charming blend of art and history that continuously fascinates the onlooker. The present owners have recreated the original atmosphere of a time long ago, but at the same time have brought new life to every room to provide a cosy and elegant home from home experience.
The apartment Gli Archi is located on the 1st floor, also known as the noble floor. Over the years, distinguished guests from many parts of the world have enjoyed the beauty and elegance held between these walls. The apartment of 100 m² comprises a living room, dining area and unusual but charming kitchen thanks to the authentic colonial lamps and 2 bedrooms both with finely decorated ceilings whose colours match the upholstery on the four-poster beds and curtains. Just like the rest of the house, pieces of antique furniture and family holiday memories and souvenirs give a refined but "experienced" feel to the property. There is also a precious black veined marble bathroom once again dating back to the history of this Renaissance palazzo. The apartment has air conditioning and a plasma TV and can be reached using the elevator located in the courtyard.
