R. Louis's review of Villa Del Cielo with Caminetto
It was just what I was looking for to accommodate nine adults comfortably in a rural Tuscan setting.
The architecture of the chapel gives the property a very special feel. There are so many wonderful entertaining areas indoors and outdoors. The views are breathtaking, especially at sunrise.
The entrance gate is narrow and the bottom of our car scraped against the road every time we went in or out. Not being able to communicate with Jesus, the property manager, was difficult. He did not set the thermostat as we requested, so one building had no heat and the other too much--which ran up our utility bill. Thankfully, this was corrected and we were not charged for utilities for the last two days.
The proximity to Siena and the A1 superhighway makes it a great location for day trips all over Tuscany.
Amy's review of Villa Del Cielo with Caminetto
Our stay was wonderful. The villa and the grounds seem taken right out of a dream. My now husband and I held an intimate wedding reception and could not have asked for a more fantastic place. It truly feels as though you are staying in the sky amongst the clouds.
Eating outside under the pergola bug spray and mosquito coils are a must. Both patios offer fantastic views. The pool was a wonderful way to escape the heat.
Some of the beds were a bit hard. The driveway is quite steep and the gate narrow. Make sure to park at the end of the driveway and gather a bit of speed getting out of the gate.
Walking down to the family restaurant, Ristorante Montalbuccio, was a treat. The food so fantastic we are still talking about it. Take the time to order the Wild Boar Stew and the Squid Ink Risotto.
Cathy's review of Villa Del Cielo with Caminetto
Wonderful, relaxing, beautiful area of Italy, excellent view.
So much room. Felt like our home. Lots of herbs growing on the property, such as sage, rosemary, etc--really spiced up our dinners. It all felt very private.
One bed was too hard. One shower had to compete with the kitchen for hot water. No real problems.
Close, yet far enough away from Siena. Beautiful views.
Mark's review of Villa Del Cielo with Caminetto
From the moment the automatic gates opened to the villa that we would call "home" for the impending week our faces beamed with excitement! The sprawling expanse of rolling hills, cyprus trees, olive trees, fruit trees and vineyards were exactly what we had hoped to find. The historical villa, immense in size, offered the true Tuscan experience, while delivering real privacy for all whether inside or out!
The immaculately kept pool in conjunction with the spectacular views were responsible for us spending more time at the villa than we had anticipated! Albeit when we did take an afternoon or evening trip to Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, and Florence the drive was relatively short from this location. Two quaint family owned restaurants within 2 kms made dining out convenient. All in all Villa Del Cielo with Caminetto was the backdrop to one of the most memorable vacations we have ever taken.
Grazie!
Keith's review of Villa Del Cielo with Caminetto
Wonderful. The villa is beautiful and located very near Siena.
The pool and view. The chef was fabulous and very friendly but did not speak any English
The gate. It wouldn't open sometimes and then would close on the car before we could get through.
Chianti wineries.
