Houston, TXWonderful Tuscan vacation villa
Left on 10/26/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My husband and I stayed at Villa Lavanda for a week in October 2012 with 3 other couples. What a great find! The villa was lovely with lots of room and all the modern conveniences necessary. Most importantly -- 5 bedrooms each with their own baths. View from villa was beautiful. Vieri, the owner and gourmet chef, prepared dinner for us the first night of our stay and it was wonderful! I highly recommend taking advantage of his culinary skills, especially on the first night of your stay. It allowed us to relax, unpack and dine in the villa. Vieri was so helpful on recommending restaurants in the area and making reservations for us. Amazing that so many great restaurants are scattered about so close to villa. Also, he arranged visit to local cheese maker for a tasting which was fun and visit to local chocolate maker. In summary, the villa was lovely and Vieri was so helpful with anything we needed. I highly recommend Villa Lavanda for your stay in Tuscany. Great accomodations within easy driving distance of so many great Tuscany towns. Only regret was that we were there only 1 week!!

Milwaukee, WIAn amazing retreat!
Left on 10/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My wife and I were among the group of 7 from the previous review. We couldn't have asked for more a a beautiful setting to spend the week in Italy. The drive to the villa provides stunning views of the Italian countryside laden with grapevines and historic architecture. You are treated to an adventurous drive up the hillside on a gravel road that winds through the trees and surprises you with a beautiful villa settled on the hillside providing incredible views and stocked full of modern amenities. The location is fantastic for day trips to all the surrounding cities or just to enjoy the villa, pool etc. Last, but not least, the hosts of the villa were simply amazing. Vieri, having spent years in the area has knowledge of the region and it's offerings probably rivaled by none. We were treated to gourmet cheese tastings, a winery tour/tasting and a behind the scenes view of a beautiful crystal factory as we watched Italian artisans shape molten glass into beautiful works of art. I could go on ... Simply, thank you Vieri.

Detroit MichiganThe villa!
Left on 10/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We had a wonderful time in Tuscany while staying at this particular villa. There was plenty of room for the seven of us. The grounds were well maintained and the view is spectacular. Vieri is a host with a lot of local knowledge and he is very accommodating to his guests. I would stay at this villa again as long as the road gets graded before hand. I had a Mercedes and it was a little rough getting to the villa.
The outdoor dining area was perfect for all of us and we made use of it every night for dinner. Vieri kept the pool open for us, and we used it every day, but it was a little cold. We had plenty of room in the kitchen for more than one person to get our meals prepared. I especially enjoyed the fresn eggs in the morning once I went to the coop to retrieve them. The isolation from the "rat race" of Rome was a nice way to wind down and relax. If you want to unwind and slow down and enjoy what Italy has to offer, then you should consider this villa because the host will take care of you and he will do as much or as little as you like. -

Los AngelesWhat an amazing place!
Left on 10/09/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We were delighted to have rented this beautiful villa this past September. The Villa and the surrounding landscape was even more beautiful then we imagined. It has all the wonderful modern amenities and we loved the layout of all the rooms.
We had 7 in out party and each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom with lots of privacy. Everything worked out perfectly.
We absolutely loved the outdoor eating area and made use of the well equipped kitchen! They owners have a few adorable chickens that would visit us and treat us with fresh eggs for breakfast. We enjoyed the beautiful pool, played ping pong and took walks nearby. We didn't even turn on the TV but the wireless Internet came in handy occasionally.
Vieri was an amazing host and took excellent care of us. Showing us the nearby area with visits to cheese factories and wineries that we would never have been able to find on our own.
You do need a car to get around, but there are so many great towns nearby. I recommend a car that can handle going up a bit of a dirt road leading up to the villa, but overall the location of the villa is perfect for visits to many wonderful places nearby.
I can't express enough how much we loved being there and can't wait to go back.
Thank you to Vierri and Rebecca for your hospitality!
Grazie...A presto!

New York CityOur perfect Tuscan vacation
Left on 03/13/2012 for a stay in September 2011
My wife, Ruth, and I spent a glorious week at this hill top villa in august 2011. Having never been to Italy before, we lucked out by finding the perfect place to relax, feel safe, and have a base of operations right in the middle of all the Tuscan hill towns. The owners are a friendly couple who could not have been more helpful in giving us tips on what to see (and how to easily get there!), where to find charming local restaurants fit for a gourmand, and even a couple of cooking lessons and wine tastings in the villa's spacious and professionaly appointed kitchen. We did not expect Tuscany to be so warm in September so the large pool was wonderful to come home to after a day of exploring the nearby hill towns - San Gimmiano, Volterra, Siena, and Monterrigioni being only a short drive away. The villa is located in a secluded yet easily accesible location and we found ourselves enjoying the quiet privacy of the location after the bustle of the hill towns and Florence. The house was gloriously cool, bedrooms located in various parts of the house so as to allow privacy (which turned out to be a great benefit as some of our traveling companions had children), and every amenity we could think of (even ping pong!) was provided. The villa is tastefully furnished and every bedroom had its own bathroom. Everyone in our party had such a great time that we are planning to return for a reunion in 2013, this time with our twins Jenny and Mike.

Atlanta, GAUnforgettable Vacation Experience
Left on 03/12/2012 for a stay in May 2011
This was an incredible vacation in an absolutely fabulous location. The property is breathtaking - a completely renovated old farmhouse that is both modern and at the same time like stepping into the past. The rooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is a "cook's kitchen" with plenty of room for guests. The entire place was well taken care of and immaculate. Everything was first class. The pool was beautiful and well kept up, although the temps were a bit chilly the week we were there. I did, however, get a chance to go on exploring each day, taking long, interesting walks in complete and utter peace. I have never slept so well!
The owners could not have been more gracious, helping us to orient ourselves and giving us advice on the best places to visit, dine and helped us get some great deals. (They live next door and were always there if we had a question or problem). A car is a must as the villa is between some not to miss Tuscan towns and cities. Florence, Siena, Monteriggioni, Volterra and San Gimignano were all closeby and well worthwhile.
We will definitely come back! This was an unforgettable experience.

Boston, MA USAOur stay at the Villa Lavanda was nothing short of Heaven
Left on 03/08/2012 for a stay in September 2011
We were greeted by the owners upon our arrival and made to feel completely comfortable from the moment we arrived. Some of us jumped straight into the pool which has a stunning view of the foothills of the appenines. Others in our party showered and relaxed in the living room which has a cathedral ceiling and handy access to the kitchen where we made Mimosas and planned our first adventure which was a trip to the historic local town of San Gimignano. The kitchen was obviously designed for serious cooks and it has a wonderful island with stools where people can sit and chat with the chef. We were very happy to find that every bedroom had its own bathroom with tub and/or shower. There are so many interesting hilltowns in this area, some better, some less well known that there was no shortage of things to do nearby. The Villa is located in a national park and the owners leave binoculars and guide books of local flora and fauna. Lots of great Tuscan cookbooks too.
We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

Thank you for the wonderful review.
We now have a ping-pong table near the pool, which we think Ruth would enjoy during her hiking breaks!
