Just returned from 4 short days on Siesta Key at Island House - 15N...and am missing everything about it! While this development was NOT built yesterday, we found it to be in great shape - nicely kept landscaping, beautiful warm pool, plentiful new beach lounges, etc. The unit is decorated in typical beach rental style and is certainly not "luxurious", but it was MORE than comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything was in good repair. The wi-fi is a little hit or miss at times, but still nice to have it included in the rental price. The beach view is gorgeous, and there is a porch that can be either glassed in, screened or open air depending on how you slide the window panels. It is heaven on Earth to lay out there on the lounge at night and listen to the waves and watch the stars! Check in/out was friendly and efficient, and because no one was coming in right behind us, they allowed us to enjoy the unit and beach the entire day of our departure which we really appreciated! It is conveniently located between Siesta Key Village w/shops, bars & restaurants, and the south bridge area which also has a grocery, small shops, some eateries and a liquor store. This unit was perfect for us and I would rent it again without hesitation. The thing I liked least was ever having to return to Indiana! Go and enjoy beautiful Siesta Key!

Upon arrival I noticed several things: The first was the condition of the carpet which was extremely dirty. The unit needs to be updated in the Kitchen, Master Bath and a couple of the mattresses need to be replaced.
The one cabinet above the stove came off its hinge Appliances were fine.
I have a design and commercial flooring background of 26 years, my recommendation would be to use a solid vinyl floor for ease of maintenance. Not sheet vinyl which is different. Ceramic and stone can be very slippery and noisy to the units below.Response from Island House Beach Resort - 04/22/2009
