Cannon Cottage is a wonderful, spacious 3 bedroom en suite villa with its tropical colours, distinctive art work and furnishings that are tasteful, stylish and one of a kind. Cannon Cottage, which boasts two original cannons from Jamaica’s colonial days, is located in the fully gated, secured and patrolled community of the Silver Sands Resort, located midway between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios (it is approximately 45 minutes in either direction). Silver Sands Estate boasts almost 100 private Villas and Cottage...s owned by individuals from all around the world. Cannon Cottage overlooks and offers breathtaking views of the world famous Silver Sands Beach and is just a one-minute walk away. Dining on the terrace provides a tranquil view of the turquoise waters of the sea as well as the beautiful tropical foliage surrounding the Villa. At any time of the day or night you can relax in the Jacuzzi on the back patio which is set in a garden of tropical paradise with its own waterfall, or you can relax in the hammock on the terrace and enjoy the cool ocean breeze sipping your rum punch. Lorna, Erica and Barrington, the cook, housemaid and gardener, will pamper you to ensure that your stay at Cannon Cottage provides memories to last a lifetime. Billy, the licensed Jamaica Tourist Board driver, will provide transportation to and from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport, advise if you need car seats. Baby-sitting services and rates are available upon request. The Villa provides some amenities for babies and children at no extra cost (see amenities) Cannon Cottage is private enough to get away from it all, or you may wish to join other families at the Beach Bar who may be staying at any of the other Villas throughout the Estate. Joggers will appreciate the safe environment in which to do their exercise. The beach is an expanse of magnificent fine grained white sand, one of the best in the Caribbean, and provides the comfort of a qualified life guard. You may bask in the sun, snorkel and explore the reefs of Silver Sands or swim in the beautiful pristine blue waters. Can be rented as a two (2) bedroom for a maximum of 5 persons, or as a three (3) bedroom villa for a maximum of 7 persons. Any room not rented by you will be locked off, and not rented by anyone else during your stay. Bedroom 1 - 1 king-size bed Bedroom 2 - 1 king-size plus one twin bed Bedroom 3 - 1 double Bedroom # 1 - large room, has a king size bed, which can be broken down into 2 single beds. Crib/playpen (stored). Bedside tables, 6-drawer dresser, chair, bench, writing table, clothes closet, safe, air conditioner, ceiling fan, mosquito net, screened windows. Ensuite bathroom. Original artwork adorn the walls. Beach view. Bedroom # 2 - large room, has a king size bed, which can be broken down into 2 single beds plus another bed which is twin size bed. Bedside tables, 6-drawer dresser, bench, writing table, clothes closet, safe, air conditioner, ceiling fan, mosquito net, screened windows. Ensuite bathroom. Also has original artwork. Beach view. Bedroom # 3 , not as large as the other 2, has a double-size bed, and bedside tables, 4-drawer dresser, 2 benches, bookshelf with many books, TV, large closet, air conditioner, ceiling fan, screened windows. Ensuite bathroom with a tub. French doors open out onto the rear garden patio where the jacuzzi is located. Artwork as well. Bathroom 1 - 1 toilet, 1 shower enclosure Bathroom 2 - 1 toilet, 1 shower enclosure Bathroom 3 (full) - 1 toilet, 1 bath with shower All bathrooms have electrical outlets for hair dryers, etc. These are the regular 110v sockets, as used in the United States. There are no special sockets for shavers, nor for UK or European fittings. Please travel with your adaptors, or request the use of the villa's blow dryer. Amenities: Stove, refrigerator microwave, toaster-oven, toaster, blender, coffee maker, juicer, popcorn machine, laundry facilities, cable TV, DVD/CD Player,VCR, ADSL Hight Speed Internet access (bring your laptop)Stereo, air conditioned bedrooms, ceiling fans, courtyard garden with Jacuzzi, jigsaw puzzles, board games, dominoes and cards. Baby Crib/play pen, baby chair, booster chair, bed rails, crib nets, assortment of children’s beach pails and toys plus floats. Activities: Not only do you have the sun sea and sand at your fingertips, but Silver Sands Estate has a Tennis Court, Beach Bar, Grill, Commissary, Gift Shop and Pool Table. Close to the Resort are Golf courses which rate amongst the best in the world. Horseback riding and deep sea fishing can be arranged as well as sightseeing tours to some of the famous tourist spots in Jamaica. Weekend nights usually boast karaoke, fashion shows, games and entertainment at the Beach Bar. Area: A 4-minute drive from Silver Sands takes you to the Town of Duncans, where you can purchase all groceries required. If you do not wish to go there, staff can do the shopping. There is a local fisherman’s beach next door to the property. During the day there are vendors displaying their art and craft, and at nights Island entertainment can be enjoyed. One can sit on Cannon Cottage’s verandah any early morning and watch the fishermen at sea catching fresh fare for the day. Just ask Barrington, Lorna or Nessie to arrange for fish to be brought to the villa when they return from sea.

  Perfect Family Getaway for all ages - Beats an all-Inclusive any

  When deciding on a vacation for our family (three kids aged 7, 3, and 7 months) as well as my in-laws, we were split. I wanted a place with space for us to all spread out after the kids went to bed and my husband wanted a place where we did not have to do any cooking or cleaning. Canon Cottage was the perfect find! We spent a week enjoying Karen's beautiful home and the gorgeous beach. Many people told us that Jamaica is beautiful, but the beaches can be bothersome with peddlers. Not one instance of that in Silver Sands. Lorna, the cook, Erica the housekeeper and Barry the gardener made our stay absolutely perfect. The food was wonderful and always fresh, the rooms were spotless and comfortable and the grounds are breathtaking. Nowhere did we see a garden anywhere like Karen's. Dining on the verandah facing the sea was always a highlight. Karen catered to our needs, especially what we needed for our 7 month old. She arranged a visit to a local school where we took our 7 year old to see what life is like for other children her age. This was a highlight and something that we will not soon forget. Our 7 month old loved Lucy the Cat and even enjoyed frolicking in the sea's warm waves. Our 3 year old loved the hot tub with the secret waterfall and enjoyed waving and chatting with Lorna, Erica and Barry every day. It was the most relaxing vacation that we have had and that was with 3 kids! My in-laws travel extensively and they are thinking of their next visit to the Cottage. Traveling with small children can be difficult, but this was the perfect way to go. I don't know that we will ever settle for anything less than what we had during our week at Cannon Cottage. We arrived feeling welcome and left feeling like family. Thank you to Karen for making our vacation so wonderful and a special thank you to Lorna, Erica and Barry for taking such good care of us. We are already talking about our next trip. I will definitely be recommending this special spot to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful spot, with the most wonderful hosts.

  We spent a week at Cannon Cottage, Silver Sands (near Falmouth) on Jamaica's north shore Feb. 11 to 18th. The villa was well-cared for, very clean and tastefully decorated. The bedrooms were spacious. The grounds were breathtaking; beautiful hot tub with waterfall in the private backyard, lovingly cared-for gardens, well-lighted. The front porch was a terrific spot to relax in the hammock or read in a lounge chair. I loved that the home was situated on a hill; the view and breeze was refreshing and it felt very private. Great proximity to the beach. Lorna the cook was easy going and genuine in making our stay comfortable and easy. She did a great job accommodating our 9 and 7 year old girls' food allergies. Erica the housekeeper did all our laundry, paid careful attention to the cleaning and was quick to help us whenever needed. The beach was soft sand and wide and the water great for boogie boarding. Snorkeling was good out on the reef (went with Errol's boatman Mustaff at $15 us each). Silver Sands feels very safe. Karen Sangster, the owner, was genuine in her desire to make our stay the best it could be. We booked directly with her.
