Cannon Cottage, in the Silver Sands Estate Resort is in the town of Duncans, located on the north coast of the island and 12 minutes drive from the historical town of Falmouth, capital of the parish of Trelawny. It is a 45 minute drive from the Sangsters International Airport in the town of Montego Bay, known as the 2nd city (Kingston being the 1st) and a 45 minute drive from the famous town of Ocho Rios, where you can climb the world renowned Dunns River Falls, or swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove. From the villa, you can travel within a short time to a number of popular golf courses along the north coast.

I have had the privilege and pleasure of renting more than ten different homes in Silver Sands. By far, Cannon Cottage is the best for the following reasons:
-the home is decorated tastefully w Jamaican art
-the porch/verandah has shade and sun, you can see and hear the Sea - all meals can be eaten there
-the rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable
-the garden and grounds are spectacular - the most beautiful in Silver Sands
-the back garden is private w dining area, Jacuzzi - it is a wonderland
One of Cannon Cottage's best assets is its staff who are warm, fun, extremely competent, great cooks and maintain the house and gardens beautifully. They truly care & want your stay to be comfortable, and your experience to be positive in every way.
I recommend Cannon Cottage without hesitation.

We had a family vacation with some friends of our at Cannon Cottage. We both have girls right around 3yo. Everyone enjoyed the trip greatly. Everything was as advertised. We had breakfast every morning outside, we made several trips to the beach each day (great to be able to go back and forth to clean up and eat), we had great meals evWeery night, and we enjoyed drinks at the jacuzzi after the girls went to bed. Lorna and Erica were very helpful and so nice. The girls loved seeing them every day. Every driver we had was great. I would certainly recommend Julie though. I would also recommend Harold for a snorkeling trip out to the reef and Lorna 2 (as we called her) for a massage. Karen was great to work with. She answered all of our questions before the trip. She even made a special accommodation for us.Â
Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We hope to come back soon.

Wow... This wonderful, hidden retreat was truly an amazing place to vacation at. The Hostess/Owner Karen, was just so accommodating, gracious and warm and welcoming. The staff, were also just so very nice. Lorna preparared the most wonderful meals for us which we ate while on the awesome verandah overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches there are just a few steps away. The entire home was wonderfully and tastefully appointed, with each room feeling like an oasis of peace and tranquility, with views to match. The Secret garden in the back with it's waterfalls also provided a haven to rest . The sunsets and sunrises while swinging in the hammock or just sitting on the deck sipping a cocktail are breathtaking. Karen attended every need spoken or unspoken and even had toys there on hand for the children to take with them to the beach. Cannon Cottage should be your next destination when traveling to Jamaica for a vacation. you will not wabt to go anywhere else after having a Cannon Cottage experience. I know that on my upcomming trip to Jamaica, I will be back there for yet another "Cannon Cottage fix". The kids keep on asking me if we can stay longer there when we go back in November. They loved the beach and the entire atmosphere in Karen's Cannon Cottage.

There is not one thing we would suggest to improve Cannon Cottage! We stayed there as large family and were very comfortable. The rooms are spacious, decorated beautifully and impeccably clean. Lorna, the chef and one of the housekeepers, put us at ease immediately. Her food was so delicious and authentically Jamaican. Yet she also accommodated special requests for less adventurous palates. Cannon Cottage & Silver Sands offer the perfect combination of luxury with a true Jamaican flavor. So much better than a run-of-the-mill resort. You get to interact with Jamaicans and people from all over the world in this exquisite setting away from the throngs. You're not far from Montego Bay but it feels like worlds away from the crush of tourists found elsewhere in Jamaica. We dream of going back and would recommend this wholeheartedly.

This was our fifth trip to Cannon Cottage, our home away from home. As usual, we had a wonderful time. Lorna, Erica, the cook and the housekeeper; Barrington, the gardener and of course Karen, the owner, have always made us feel so warmly welcomed and comfortable. Cannon Cottage has become our new home in Jamaica.
Each year we stay a little longer; last year we stayed for a whole month of heaven.
The house is in an almost fairytale tropical setting. Set back a little above the beach and backing onto a cliff. The house and cliff are surrounded by lush tropical plants of every type, loving cared for by Barrington the gardener. Into these gardens is set a natural stone hottub in which we enjoyed many nights with our glasses of wine shaded by tropical plants. From the large front verandah/deck we had a magniicent view of the beach and sea, just a few hundred yards away.
The villa is spacious, comfortable and airy. Lorna is a terrific cook. Try any of her delighful Jamaican dishes. Lorna and Erica keep the house itself so well maintained. We always felt very comfortable and well taken care of.
We have always recommended Cannon Cottage to friends and relatives and these past 3 years several sets of friends joined us for a week each. All were extremely happy with their stay at Cannon and still talk to us about their Jamaican holidays.

We lead a busy life and were looking for a nice safe place to relax with our children. Cannon Cottage and Silver Sands was perfect! Starting with the shuttle from the airport- the whole experience was well done and the service was excellent. The staff was so friendly and caring, they even prepared a yummy birthday cake to celebrate my birthday, and kept my 4 year old son happy with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The house and gardens were beautiful, and the beach was perfect- soft sand, clean and very safe. The food was great and we enjoyed eating many traditional Jamaican dishes and treats. The jacuzzi was excellent in the heat of the day, and a cozy way to end the evenings when it was warmed up. We also enjoyed the nighttime family activities provided by Silver Sands. The owner was very caring and accommodating, even setting up a visit to a local school so our children could see what school is like for most children in Jamaica. We will definitely recommend Cannon Cottage to all our friends, and can not wait to return.
