Left on 01/27/2013 for a stay in December 2012
- beautiful house.
- great location; very near a chair lift, and close to the village center
- house was very well appointed. Everything that we needed was there
- Communication with owners; timely, clear and accurate. Well ahead of our rental time, we knew what supplies and services would be provided, how to gain access to the property, driving directions, parking, wifi, etc.
- comfortable beds (a must for a ski holiday!)
- house layout good; bedrooms removed from main living area. Main living area roomy with a large dining room table, kitchen, reading/TV area
- big, heated vestibule for ski equipment storage
- lots of extra linens and supplies
- house was clean and very well maintained
- hot tub in good condition
- a trouble free accomodation that makes a great holiday destination
- we loved our stay in this home -

VancouverPerfect suite for two
Left on 01/28/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We stayed at the Purple Palace Suite - the lower part of the house. The unit was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had all cooking utensils/pots/pans/glassware necessary and everything is labelled which makes it easy to see what/where. The bedding and sheets were clean/fresh/new with additional blankets and pillows provided. Hottub on deck was too good for words - we loved soaking our sore knees in the tub. The unit is perfect and the ski-in ski-out is fabulous!!! You are literally 6 steps from the ski way that takes you the Silver Queen lift and then to either Silver Woods or over to Vance Creek area. I have skied at Silver Star many times and have had all kinds of accomodation...this unit is top class. I will definitely rent again

Vancouver, BCBest place to stay at Silver Star!
Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The Purple Palace offers an unbeatable place to stay at Silver Star. Our group (which consists of 4 families, including small children) has been coming here for the last two winters, and we've just booked again for this year. The location is true ski-in/ski-out so you can put your skis on at the front door and away you go! This also makes it very convenient to return to the house for a hot lunch after a morning of hitting the slopes. Tube Town and ice hockey on the skating pond are just a short walk down the hill. The house itself is very well laid out, with plenty of space for everyone, and the large windows provide great views and let in plenty of light. The kitchen/family room area is large enough that it never feels crowded, and the large dining table is perfect for sharing stories at mealtimes. The mudroom at the entrance is large enough to store all your winter gear, and the hot tub on the roof is a fantastic spot for apres-ski.
The owners are a pleasure to do business with. They are very organized, responsive and ensure that all the little details are taken care of so that all you have to do is show up and start enjoying your stay. Our annual trip to the Purple Palace is one of the highlights of our year and we'll be coming back for years to come! -

Excellent accommodations. An actual ski-in ski-out location. It really doesn't get any better than this.
I have stayed at this location multiple times and will continue to go back time and time again.Response from Larry and Deb Walkemeyer - 10/11/2011

Bellingham, WashingtonFantastic, easy, beautiful and just what we wanted
Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in November 2010
The Purple Palace is a perfect place for 4 couples to enjoy a ski vacation. Easy access to the trails, the lifts, the village. A great open kitchen for easy cooking and socializing all in the same space. The hot tub, with views of the mountain, provided lovely space for us to enjoy the mountain and night skies for more relaxation. We had incredible ease in booking with the owners and getting any housekeeping needs met while there. We have been coming for the last 4 years and anticipate coming for the next 40.

Long Beach, CAGreat place to stay, very convenient and comfortable
Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in February 2010
I've stayed at the Purple Palace several times and enjoyed each stay immensely. The property is well-maintained and comfortable. The decor and use of bright colors makes it really inviting and homey. It doesn't feel like your typical rental with dull colors and utilitarian furniture. The location is more than excellent as it's right by the ski bridge and you can ski in and out. The village is just a short walk down the road. It's one of the first houses you come to when entering the SilverStar resort area so it's easy to locate. All in all, I highly recommend this property for renting.

Auburn, WA USALove this place!
Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in March 2011
W have stayed at the Purple Palace several times over the years and are always impressed with the comforts of home we find there.Everything is thoughtfully stocked even down to recent DVD movies for our use. The location is one of the best on the mountain for ski in/ out access and the roof top hot tub is a special treat for sore bodies after a day on the slopes.
We will definitely be back! -

Our stay at the Purple Palace was fantastic. The availability of ski in - ski out, the outstanding views and the proximity to the village made this vacation rental a real bonus. Sitting in the roof top hot tub watching the stars was a perfect end to a great day of skiing.
