Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

The £20 good housekeeping bond was taken on arrival and nothing said or done to make us feel welcome. There was a notice above the ceramic hob saying that it was new and so could people look after it and use the special scraper for cleaning purposes. We could not find this scraper. 3 of the 4 rings had encrustation on them and so the hob clearly had not been kept clean in the past. It didn't appear to be a new hob. We purposely used just the one clean ring all week and kept that clean and did our best with the rest. The oven shelves were black encrusted. We did what we could with them and left them in better condition than we found them. The cutlery set was poor and crockery average. Some of the pans we did not like to use - one had plastic sticking to its base where some previous occupant had obviously put it down hot on the work surface's plastic trim. It would have caused damage to the ceramic hob if used by anyone. We felt intimidated by the good housekeeping bond and concerned that we might be blamed for any damage etc. caused by previous occupants of which there were several instances. If ever we have broken a glass or similar on a stay we have replaced with like or better and not at any great expense but just our luck - 30 minutes before departure, we accidently broke 2 small side plates due mainly to the disorganised state of the cupboard which we had again purposely not used all week. As we had had no instructions for departure procedures, I called at the owner's house and apologised for the breakages and he said that he would have to keep the £20. We assumed that he would be reimbursing us with some change but weeks later Sykes informed us that the owner valued the 2 side plates at £10 each! Had we had the time we could have found similar or better for just a £1 or two. There had only been 5 out of 6 in the set to begin with so why had the 6th not already been replaced?

The service was good.
We loved the cottage, for us it was ideal, we live abroad but next time when back in the UK we would certainly rent again and bring our dog.
The cottage is cosy, lovely outlook, great location on this complex, amenities good.
We liked everything, close to the quality of life essentials we love!
