Hi, we are Jean and John Davis, we bought this villa, new, in 2002, I guess we were smitten with the cute little Portuguese village. We often see the shepherd walking his sheep down the lane to graze, or the locals that live off the land and pick their olives in October. They grow their own oranges, pluck their chickens and bake their own bread, some still trot around on their donkeys, no jumping in the car to the local supermarket for a bottle of wine for them! (Yes, they grow the grapes too!) The Algarvians are friendly and have a relaxed attitude to visitors. Fishermen paint their boats in colours as bright as the spring flowers on the cliffs. Two donkey carts cause a ‘traffic jam’. At this pace of life even the most stressed businessman soon unwinds. Spotless Villa. It is so welcoming, convenient, and totally functional for any travelers. We travel a great deal, so we recognize a value and necessities of accommodations. This villa has it all.
It is impossible to take photos that do the villa justice. The pool area is as nice as any hotel pool, extremely well kept, and beautiful. The kitchen is exceptionally appointed. Electronically complete. Having WiFi, flatscreened TV, DVD, etc., is "just like home", in the U.S.
Driving in Portugal is easy. The proximity to picturesque villages, highways, and train stations, allowed us to really travel the country. Thanks to John and Jean's advice, we were aware of numerous points of interest.
It is impossible to come away from Portugal, or the hosts, without making "new friends".

We arrived and were greeted by Jean and John. They showed us around and made us feel very much at home. Their house is artistic and comfortable, and the location is out of this world.
Everything was to hand to make our stay a very pleasant one. If we felt like going to the beach,it was a short drive. Our main aim was to investigate the mountains and historical areas nearby.
To come home in the evening and take our glasses of wine on to the terrace before preparing our supper was also great. We were very sad to leave Portugal and look forward to our next visit.Response from Jean Davis - 04/27/2012

We were delighted to arrive and find a wonderfully clean and beautiful villa, the views of the mountains and the coast are exceptional. I can thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone who wants to crash out and relax or visit the beach, thank you for the boat trip along the coast, the boys really enjoyed swimming from the boat, the caves were amazing, what a delight, the fresh fish straight from the sea every day, there is so much to do. We also jumped on a fast train (2 1/2hrs) and spent some time in Lisbon. We went to Gibralter for a couple of days and caught a Ferry to Tangier for a day trip (45 mins each way). Car hire was very reasonably priced.
Thank you John for the safari trip to the Monchique mountains the chicken piri piri was as good as everyone said it would be and the Barragem lakes were breathtaking. We couldn't have wished to have found a better place, we will certainly be back again soon.Response from Jean Davis - 04/27/2012
