I have flats to rent just restructured in a traditional house, at Corfù (Kerkyra), green and full of flower island, located in the historical centre of one of the hundred most beautiful village of Greece: Sinarades. We speak fluently English, German, French, Italian and a little Spanish.

In the house there are 3 flats to rent(2x4people, 1x2people)

Flat nos 1 and 2 (for 4 people each):

• Two double rooms with ceiling fan, one of them, quite big, has near a window a “drawing area” with a table and four comfortable large sitting places.

Sinarades has totally maintained its traditions, safeguarding its charm as regards its natural environment, too. A Greek corner untouched by tourist groups where it is still possible to live at old time rhythms, bathed in natural sounds. Not a village transformed into a tourist-commercial centre. A place of peace and relax, but you have some nice Greek bars and tabernas(restaurants) where a beer costs 1,5/2,5 €, a Greek salad 6/7€ and a normal meal 12/15€including drink , a post-office, an internet cafè, a motorbike rent point where you can rent a motorbike for 2 from 85€ per week or a quad for 2 from 150€ per week. Quad is a very popular way for tourists for moving around the island. There are also food shops , a pharmacy and an ambulatory where they understand English and Italian, a public phone and a bus stop to the beach or to Corfù town. At Corfù you do not have the Melteni wind and the climate in summer is dry and generally speaking prices are lower than in most Europe. Sinarades is located 200 meter high ; a little wind blows at sunset and at night it is a little cooler and dry. Sinarades is 300 metres in a bee line from the sea but by road is 3 km away. The beach is called Agios Gordis and it is 4 km long and mostly sandy. The first 400 meters have bars , restaurants and beach-umbrella but further it is completely free and untouched. At Agios Gordis beach many bars have a swimming pool free for guests.

5/8/10 km from the village you can find other beaches and small bays with crystal-clear waters.

For who loves hiking, beautiful pathways offer unique experiences with astonishing panoramic views.

Corfù town (40.000 inhabitants) and the airport are 10 km away; here you can find elegant shops open at night, restaurants , pubs ,dancing clubs ,concert halls and nightlife, almost in an “old Venice ambience”.

At 6 km from our village you also have the 18 hole Corfù Golf Club.

For pure water for best coffee and tea walk 100 meter. It is on the left at the corner with a lane.

In the village there are 3 food shops and a superette. They are open till late and every day but not during siesta time.

Restaurants
The first one is new.
The second one has a good reputation for barbecue, it is not expensive
The third one is a “Ghiros” place ; salads and skewer meat during day, ghiros till late in the night. It is cheap and good

Public telephone
Right in front of the superette ; it is the cheapest way to call home .Buy a card in the superette

Pharmacy
It is just after the superette. Normally it is open only half a day

Doctor
His practise is in front of the pharmacy

Bars with WIFI
50 meter beyond the pharmacy there is a bar with wifi. You will recognize it because it has a little porch on the front

Motorbike/quad rental
The shop is in Agios Gordis right in front of the bus stop but the workshop is in Sinarades.

For the workshop go along the road up to the end of the village, you will find a big parking and a roundabout . Keep the right and continue straight on. Take the first lane on the right; 50 meters and you are arrived.

FACILITIES NEAR Sinarades

Corfu Golf club.
It is a 18 hole par 72 golf course. Cross Sinarades village to the north, after the roundabout continue sthraight on, staying on the right. At the STOP turn left and go straight on for a few kms till you arrive to a big cross. Follow the sign Ermones and go straight on as far as a T-crossing. Turn left following the sign Ermones and proceed until you see a sign “golf club” on the right

Aqualand

Cross Sinarades village driving to the north, at the roundabout stay on the right. At the STOP turn left and go straight on for a few kms until you arrive to a big cross. Follow the sign Ermones and go straight on as far as a T-crossing Turn right; after a few kms you will find a STOP; turn right following the sign for Corfu; after 2 kms you are arrived.

Tabepneio: a traditional greek restaurant
It is only a few kms from Sinarades. Leave the village following Corfu direction after sabout 1 km you arrive at a T-crossing. Turn right and continue for about 1 km; the restaurant is on both sides ( the building is on the left ).The owner is a young person. Tell him that the italian guy of Sinarades
suggested this restaurant The quality of the food is good, portions are very big; be careful not to order too much; prices are standard ,for Greece obviously


BEACHES

Agios Gordis
It is the modern and tourist part of Sinarades (3 km away).
You can have a walk , mostly going down, following the road. If you are adventurous in the last part you will find two paths to the “wild” part of the beach.
If you are coming by car, depending on the time and the month, you have the choice to park just outsides Agios Gordis next to the first shop or to park near the beach (you will have to pay), where there are 2 parkings: one on the right and the other on the left.
In front of the bus stop you will find the rent-byke-shop, one of the few newsdealer, the travel agency.
If you keep on walking towards the sea you will see on the right side a big superette (same owner as the one in Sinarades but with more products) and on the left side 2 bars with PC and WIFI free for customers At the end on the left there is a cafè for sandwiches and ghyros and on the right the second newsagent, Where the road finish there is the beach with umbrellas and bars.
The beach is 4 kms long, sandy with rocks.
If you want a beach nearly only for you, turn right and walk 500 meters as far as a small promontory. The “wild” beach starts here. Bring food, drinks and beach-umbrella with you.


Kontogialis known as Pelekas beach
You have to drive from Sinarades to Pelekas crossing our entire village. Continuing straight on you ll' arrive at a T-crossing. Turn left and go straight on for a few kms. You will arrive at a big cross, turn left and continue; before the steep slope you will find a very huge bend turning right. On the left corner there is a road which goes down. Take it. After some bends there is a road going right with the correct sign.
It is a beautiful medium size beach. There are some parkings near the end of the road.
On the left you have to pay, on the right you have the private parking for restaurant customers or if you continue the lane in the corner you will join a wild area that continues as far as a small harbour. Try to park here.
The restaurant of the parking is quite good and not expensive.

Aliscary
On the same road of Kontogialis you don't have to turn, instead keep on driving for 2 kms. You ll' arrive at a point where the road is barred. Few meter before on the right there is a gate with “entry forbidden”. Enter and continue as far as the parking place.
Walking along the road on foot you ll' find the beach. There is a reasonable good and icheap restaurant. They rent also sun-beds and umbrellas.

Mirtiotissa
It is a nudist beach. Very small but very beautiful. Cross Sinarades village to the north, after the roundabout stay on the right. At the STOP turn left and go straight on a few km until you arrive at a big cross. Follow the sign Ermones but proceed for a few hundred meters. You have to turn left into a small road at the corner of an old house; it is the first “real” road on the left. Go along this road for 1 or 2 km as far as a STOP. Turn right and keep on driving for only few meters and turn left following the sign “Mirtiotissa”. Proceed through a very nice olive wood.; it is very hard to get there because you are more than 100 meter high. The descent is very steep but, before the descent there is a large parking on the left just after a big bar. If you are not very good with your vehicle or you arrive after 11 am leave the car at the parking place.
On the beach you ll' find a small bar which can provide sun beds, beach umbrella, drinks and sandwiches.

Glyfada
It is a modern standard beach with easy parking. The beach is sandy and convenient but without charme. Don't go there on Sunday. It is one of the beaches that locals like most.

Ermones
Some like the place some not. It is surrounded by elegant houses and a huge 4 stars hotel. Remember that, less than 1 km before you pass near the Corfu Golf Club.

Paleokastritsa
Remember that it is a very touristic place.
The best way to go inthere is driving along the road to Pelekas . At the big cross continue straight on the direction of Ermones you ll' arrive at a T-cross; turn right and continue for a few kms; you arrive at a T-crossing ;turn left and go straight on; you are on the road Corfu -Paleokastritsa .
You can visit the monastery parking down(high season) or up on the top(low season). Go by boat to the different beaches or walk along the road and descend to the harbour or to the different bays/beaches that you can not see from the road .

Halikounas beach and Korissia lagoon
It is the best place to go on Sunday because the beach is huge.
The lagoon is interesting in the right season for birdwatching.
To go there you can start from Agios Gordis if you like to drive and to see the non touristic Corfu.
If you like a faster road, follow the direction of Corfu town and at a big cross follow the sign Achilleion (on the right at a cross where you have to STOP).
Now when you are on the road to Achilleion follow the sign Lefkimmi and not the one Achilleion; after the mountains you find the sign for the LAKE. Follow the sign lake at any cross.
It is a huge and flat sand beach with a few small bars. It is a different Corfu.
Better to bring food, drinks, sunbeds and beach-umbrella; facilities are very small.
You find a lot of restaurants in the last Kms. They have in general a good reputation.

Some ideas from the owner

Corfu by quad
Quad is very popular in our area and in general in Corfu as a transport solution for tourists.
A quad is an interesting means of transport, being a motorbike with four wheels .
It doesn't require any previous experience with motorbikes , it is low cost in rent and gasoline consumption,
You get the feeling of being in full open air.
The only inconvenience is that you can not drive fast (more than 50 km/hour) because it is very hard in bend turning not having a sofisticated mechanism on the back wheels.

Walking at night in the village
It is absolutelly safe and you will see very nice corners. Take your camera with you.
Stop in a bar and drink a beer. Quality is very high, prices very low. Nobody will disturb you.

Walking island
Because of the specific structure of the island “walking” is very popular.
“Walking in central Corfu” is a book that you can find in Corfu town with all the informations about walks around our area.

Tourist informations
The tourist office is in a boot in the center of San Rocco square.

Classic and Jazz Concerts
They normally perform during 4/5 weeks, mostly in July and nearly every night. Normally they are in the old palace gardens (jazz ) or in the old fortress (classic music). Ask the tourist information office. Some are free, most are at very reasonable prices.


Night walk in Corfu town
It is very nice to walk in the old part of the town. A must is “walking up and down” the Liston “to see and to be seen”. It is a typical Mediterranean activity before dinner.
If you are a bit hungry there is a good ghiros shop near the Town Hall and if you want later a very good Italian ice cream go in to N. Theotoki road which is on the back of the Liston.
Walk 30/40 meters and on the left there is a very nice patisserie with the ice-cream counter on the center.

A corfiot open air dinner in Corfu downtown
It will be an experience because you can choose the real Corfiot cooking. It is similar to the old Venetian food .Try “la pastisada.”. The menu is also in English. Food is very good , price convenient.
It is also an experience because you are really on the road.

A romantic Greek dinner “au bord de la mèr”
If you can choose a full moon night it will be marvellous. At 9 pm you will be one of the first customers.
Walk the Liston to the front of the old palace and go through the arch door following the road. After 100 metres you see , on the right, a descent which brings to a door in the Middle Age wall. Go straight on and you are at the begin of a peer . On the right side there is a normal greek restaurant with a name like Ta Mpavia T'Alekou; enter and choose a table near the sea, if possible . The view on the old fortress is superb..... Price and food standard.


A corfiot upper class aperitif
On the same peer of the romantic dinner,but on the left, young Greek of high class take aperitifs.
You can join and appreciate the ambience. Prices for a drink are high.

A walk and drink in the new fortress
It is a nice experience specially at night. The walk starts in front of the market, a few hundred meters from San Rocco square. Go first up the fortress. There is sometimes an open air bar at the top. You find many bars, some with music, on the lane that you encounter not far from the fortress entry door( inside the fortress ).
