Excellent property, great staff and meals

Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in December 2012

All the staff at Noi Varo add to the holiday experience at this luxurious property. The house meals were better than what we ate in restaurants and staff were even kind enough to vary the menu to suit our dietary needs. Thanks to Vikram, Vivek and the house staff for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay for our family.

Do not miss out on this

Left on 02/29/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Before entering Noi Varo you may feel time warped back to the colonial area. But that will only last until you step inside the villa and the spell will be broken by the tranquil sound of trickling water from the interior spa and you will be zoomed into the 21st century. The combination of old and new is elegantly matched here. All rooms are very spacious and airy, but the bathrooms really take the price for style, comfort and functionality. The atmosphere is one of privacy, the staff is always within reach, but very discrete. As such you feel like it's your place and not only visiting. There is really no need to eat out, as it will be difficult to find any better food than here (well apart from Kaju Varo).
We hope to return again one day.

      Beat all expectations

I have already recommended Casa anjuna to people who aren't even considering going to India.

Nestled off a quiet road in Siolim, the Casa anjuna was a perfect retreat from the hustle of Bombay. It's surrounded by gorgeous chapels and within very close reach of endless beaches. But, as others have already commented here, there's no need to ever leave its warm gates. Come prepared to eat and read and relax. I already feel incredibly lucky for the opportunity to have spent time here, and only wish there had been more hours in the day to enjoy this special place.

The value was unbeatable since, I assume, you wouldn't get nearly this much for much pricier hotels.

Hope I have a chance to come back.

An amazing, peaceful vacation in luxury

Left on 01/16/2012 for a stay in October 2011

We experienced very good service, and someone were always there ready and willing to help us.
The house was very beautiful and in a nice design. Full of harmony. The house is also placed very well and it feels like you are in your own little world, but still close to the real India and activities nearby.
We really liked the place and we would love to return sometime in the near future and we will definitely recommend this to everyone.

      Paradise. Seriously.

Noi Varo was incredible. The villa itself is unbelievably beautiful -- spacious, tastefully decorate rooms; insanely comfortable beds; wonderful bathrooms/showers; and a fantastic indoor pool and outdoor pool with lounging space for enjoying the sun. There's also an outdoor dining table and a treehouse that's perfect for reading/relaxing. On top of that, the staff at Noi Varo was wonderfully helpful and responsive. The meals were delicious, and it was so refreshing to not have to worry about anything while we were there. Siolim itself is also a very pretty town, and you can see many pretty churches and homes while walking around. Ashwem Beach is only a 15-20 minute drive away, as is Morjim Beach. For all of the above, the value is pretty incredible. Overall, it was a perfect weekend in Goa.

Most comfortable, relaxing, and memorable vacation yet

Left on 01/04/2012 for a stay in January 2010

I visited Shunya Noi Varo in the winter of 2010. I was amazed by the size and quality of the villa. It had a very comfortable, clean, tropical, but at the same time modern atmosphere. Everything from the beds to the bathrooms was spotless. The rain showers were just amazing, and the indoor pool was a great touch! Every bedroom features an aC which was very nice considering how hot it can get in Goa even during the winter months.

Not only was the interior amazing, the outdoors were just as excellent. The deck, which is a great place to relax with a drink in the evening, also features a great pool that is perfectly suitable for a good swim. Past the deck, there is a large outdoor grill, dining area, and magnificent tree house. Each of these places have their own comfortable and relaxing setting, and along with the deck, make the outdoors of Noi Varo a place that everyone will enjoy.

The food at Noi Varo was just amazing. The menu, complete with meats and seafood, was filled with dishes which were unique in their own way and cooked to perfection. The service was great - dishes and cutlery were placed and removed at the right time, drinks served fast, and the table always clean.

I would recommend Noi Varo to anyone who wants to feel what Goa is about. The Portuguese architecture of the building is spot on, the food is made with a Goan style, and the location is close to the beach, as well as the popular Saturday Night Market. The experience is truly memorable, comfortable, and suitable for any type of party - family, friends, or both.

Twice to Noi Varo... thrice to Kaju Varo... We love the place more and more and got used to their standard ; it is beautiful, well-maintened, special, delicious food, super-confortable beds/linen/bathrooms!
Having young children I have a preference for kaju varo, where we can walk to the sea and enjoy the pool.

Even when we go with a kid in tow, there is nothing that we miss from a hotel property @Noi Varo. In fact, its more special and yes, one may share the property with a couple or two but they're likely to be more interesting than most people you would meet at a 5-star. A wading pool (easy to do a few score laps), a warm water pool, fantastic loos (with rain showers), fresh food (produce acquired basis your order a few hours ago), music systems to plug into and short access to many parts of North Goa. Nothing more that one needs to wind down for a week or even a weekend.

      luxurious serenity

Left on 12/08/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Noi Varo is a gorgeous old Portuguese villa in the northern village of Siolim. It has been renovated in a soft modern style, warmly elegant, light and airy. Three suites open out to private lotus pools; and open in to an indoor heated lounge pool, softly lit at night and soothingly gurgling at all hours. There is another swimming pool and a deluxe tree house outside; a small branch of the Chapora River flows right behind. Noi Varo is hard to leave once entered, and we have a delicious dinner in the cosy dining room (meals must be ordered in the morning). The menu is eclectic and exact: creamy carrot coriander soup, almond mushroom pâté, grilled fish, mango spinach salad. After a swim (by the light of the silvery moon) we finish our bottle of wine. I get into my bed and wish to savour the wonderful balance of crisp sheets, firm mattress, and soft comforter, but I'm asleep before I know it. Goa outside here beckons but with the friendly efficient staff to help us out, the lovely swimming pool and comfortable living spaces, the food which I'm sure is a good as it gets anywhere--- we end up whiling away most of our time here, at what immediately feels like home

I am a filmmaker, my partner is an artist. We have been lucky to spend time in Noi Varo. Both of us have been visiting India for more than 10 years combining holiday and creative work. This time we had our child with us and we could put our full energy in our creative work since living in the Shunya properties allows you to do nothing but concentrate on your work and enjoying life. The properties are visually rich: tropical nature, cooling water bodies etc... you feel the senses nurtured and happy to see, smell, taste and listen, the carefully chosen materials for the interiors allows you try comfort you can never imagine to find in India... Along with the comfortable feeling of being at home rather than in a 5 star hotel. The beach is easily reachable as the villages nearby. Very good location for being connected but feel in a private world.
