The cabin is located in the Tollgate development, which is 2 miles west of the historic western town of Sisters. Tollgate consists of 440 half-acre homesites with another 220 acres of common land for all to enjoy. Tollgate residents and guests enjoy the pool area with a large pool as well as a wading pool for babies and toddlers, a tennis court, basketball court and the walking/bike path. All recreational choices are free to residents and guests. The majority of the homes in Tollgate are occupied by year round residents.

This is a wonderful, wonderful place...a lovely home in the woods, and a peaceful retreat for rest and restoration of the spirit. The home is kept sparkling clean, has all basic appliances, and is well-stocked with linens, dishes, and paper supplies. Looking out from the 2nd floor there is a safe feeling of nesting high up near the pine treetops. A spacious deck faces eastward for napping in one of the many lounge chairs or just enjoying the abundant sunshine. The beautiful sunroom by day makes a cozy area to read, do crafts, or watch nature unfold amid the whispering trees and quiet landscape. At night the glass windows overhead reveal brilliant stars sparkling with incredible clarity in the clear Central Oregon sky. Saw a hummingbird fluttering by the living room window one sunny morning, and a doe with her three spotted fawns wandering near the house. The air here is clean, fresh, and uplifting, filled with the invigorating aroma of pine, juniper, and sagebrush. Greatly enjoyed many early morning walks in the very quiet surroundings. There is a gentle spell of serenity that takes hold once you arrive. If you are looking for a special vacation spot that is peaceful, relaxing, and in harmony with nature, this is absolutely the perfect setting. Hope to be back soon and as often as possible.

The best recommendation anyone can give is that they go back time and again and that is what I and my friends do. I have rented this cabin from one to three times a year for maybe 10 years. It is always well maintained and has a great location for all of the activities Central Oregon has to offer. My favorite thing is to have a cup of coffee on the deck in the morning and watch the deer out in the common areas. For stargazing it also can't be beat. It's quiet and a great place to stay.

My girlfriends and I have been coming to Sisters in Oct for the fair, we usually stay at a hotel. It was getting a little expensive. I found the Vrbo site and found this great cabin. We love this place and are coming back again this year.

Everything in the home was in "working" order.
Very spacious and felt like a "home" away from "home.
Secluded yet minutes away from golfing, hiking, shopping and skiing. Wonderful location!!
We hope to return in the fall of 2012. -

Many places have a nice location, or are clean, or have helpful and kind owners, but this place has all three! In addition, the rental is generously stocked with everything you may need, from kitchen utensils, to paper goods, to firewood, to books and games. It really does have everything, and The Bates are like a personal concierge, so helpful and willing to make your stay the best it can be. And the beds! Great mattress and sheets, so comfortable, I slept like a King.

This house is very clean and well stocked. It's very quiet and peaceful. We loved the sunroom and the wood stove!
We stayed there during the winter. Only 20 min to Hoodoo.
Great house at an affordable price. We'll rent it again!
