This is a different way of spending your holiday far away from everyday life. Explore the island and enjoy an authentic agrotourism holiday in a gorgeous setting placed in a “NATURA 2000” area of Skyros in the beautiful Aegean sea. The accommodation is situated on a traditional working farm.
NATURA 2000" is an ecological network of protected areas in The European Union. It is the largest coherent network of protected areas in the world. "NATURA 2000" represents areas of the highest value for natural habitats and species of plants and animals which are rare, endangered or vulnerable in the E.U. The landscapes in these areas are characterized by their unique natural beauty.
The farm is a good size with its own natural pristine springs and a deciduous forest. “The Refuge” stands alone on the side of a mountain, in a panoramic setting overlooking the valley of “Kalikri”, the sea and the surrounding mountains. It is an ideal starting point for discovering the beauty of the “NATURA 2000” landscape. Ideal for nature lovers, walkers and climbers, as this is the start of the paths to the wild yet beautiful mountainous area.
“The Refuge” and farm are owned by the Sher family and they guarantee a really warm welcome and a pleasant stay in extremely attractive, comfortable and traditional furnished rooms. “The Refuge” was built with attention to aesthetic design and confort from natural materials such as wood and stones collected from the farm’s fields.
Even when there is mist, rain or snow, this place is always a true refuge welcoming and warm. The concept is to offer quality holidays for all nature lovers.
