The Farmhouse, Skiathos

We built The Farmhouse in traditional style in rock, wood & stucco, natural slate & tiles. Internally we have laid floors of wood & terra-cotta tiles. The cupboards & kitchen furniture are all hand made in pinewood. Outside is a large shady patio of Pelion slate, with a barbecue, & a lawn with shade from cypress, olive & fig trees. Creeping up the walls are bougainvillea, jasmine, honey-suckle & oleanders. The patio is surrounded by pot-plants & flowering shrubs.

The accommodation consists of a large, fully equipped kitchen, with steps leading down to "The Snug" where the fireplace is situated. There is a bathroom with bath & shower, &... a smaller toilet with hand-basin upstairs. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom & a twin bedroom. Upstairs is another double bedroom & a small, 1 person, sleeping "loft" (ideal for a child). There is ample room for 1 bed to be added should it be necessary for a large family or group. We built this house for when one of our daughters gets married & Lida has made it into a "home" rather than a "rental". All our clients have commented on it's cosy feeling.

The villa is fully equipped for self catering. It has an extensive kitchen with cooker, oven, microwave, toaster & coffee maker. Additionally, the villa has a washing machine, an iron and a hair dryer. Cots and baby chairs are also available.

Additional Location Information

Zorbathes is a peaceful valley which is hidden close to the centre of Skiathos Island. It is green & fertile & surrounded by pine forests. Through the bottom of the valley run stream beds whose banks are covered by an abundance of wild flowers & ferns, & are shaded by massive plane trees. Our end of the island, which is closest to the Pelion Peninsular, receives a goodly amount of winter rain & the lushness of the valley & the surrounding pine forests reflect this.
It is just 5 minutes drive from the nearest sandy beaches, shops and tavernas.
We are 15 minutes from the Airport and Skiathos Town.
There is ample private parking.
Available activities include all water sports, tennis, horse riding, hiking and cultural sight seeing.

  The Farmhouse and Barn at Zorbades are quite simply delightful.
  
  Set in a tranquil valley some 5 minutes drive off the Troulos / Asselinos road you will find the Farmhouse and Barn.
  
  The first time you drive down the dirt track you may just wonder where you are going, but once you get there, you know you have found the perfect base for your holiday; for us, it really is a home from home. The Farmhouse is just as described in the 'blurb' but it's not really the amenities that you will rave about because many villas have similar, what they don't have is the location and the character.
  
  Privacy, silence, nature, chickens, rabbits, shooting stars, Bbqs, laughter, quiet, relaxation, and cicadas are just some of the things that are likely to feature during your stay, as well as the usual fun around the gorgeous swimming pool. The other constant is Geof and Lida who are perfect hosts / owners of the properties. You should have no worries whatsoever about booking these properties as Geof and Lida will help wherever they can - meeting at the airport; luggage transfer; arranging car hire (essential). Nothing seems too much trouble for them.
  
  We have stayed in the Farmhouse twice, most recently in July 2012, and we hope to return soon.
