      Dirty and badly maintained!!!

Left on 12/17/2012 for a stay in November 2012

I booked this cottage as a birthday treat for my wife. On arrival it soon became obvious that the cottage had not been cleaned...kitchen worksurfaces and equipment were covered in grease, carpets had not been vacuumed and dust was so thick in the bedroom it was possible to write your name in it. Electrical appliances were faulty and about ten light bulbs were either missing or broken. The smell from the dishwasher was foul which was due to the appliance being broken and rotting food debris not being drained away. The central heating system required attention and there was an issue with flooding in the wet room which happens when the Sanifow toilet is not functioning properly. This cottage is not what it appears. I would strongly advise that it should be avoided at all costs!

      Sykes Holiday Cottages

      Manager

Thank you for your review. The owner of the cottage is very sorry that you did not contact her or Sykes Cottages during your stay. If she had been aware of any problems with the property she would have called out her maintenance team to immediately rectify any issues that you were experiencing and avoid anything ruining your holiday. The owner has offered the assurance that a full changeover had been carried out prior to your stay and that there were no electrical faults however she has acted on your feedback relating to the dishwasher and this has since been replaced. We have received excellent feedback for this delightful property and are sure that future guests will enjoy their stay there.
