You're sitting down to a meal at this rental villa in Greece with some of your best companions. It's a warm evening so you're dining outside on the terrace, and as you enjoy the fresh fish you picked up from the market earlier that day, you glance out over the bay below. The glance becomes a stare; it's hard to take your eyes from the view provided by this Greece rental villa! Lights from traditional whitewashed houses ring the harbor, reflecting and flickering on the water. And that water-- you know it well, having been in it one way or another every day since your arrival. This elegant, contemporary house is situated in the hills behind Skopelos town. It features red tiled floors and exposed beam ceilings. It enjoys views of traditional whitewashed houses, the sea, and the neighboring island of Alonissos. There is a swimming pool [heating available on advance notice] located at the side of the house, accessible through French doors from the living room. It is surrounded by low, stone walls and lush landscaping. The pool area is furnished with a table and comfortable chairs for dining and lounging. A narrow, winding road leads up to the villa from the town center. It's a 7-minute drive from the house to the port, and a 15-minute walk to the nearest restaurant. The surrounding hillsides are covered with olive groves and crisscrossed by donkey paths, making it an ideal spot for hiking. Within a 5-minute walk from the house there is a fresh water fountain with an inlaid sarcophagus dating from the 5th century. The small beach of Glyfoneri can be reached on foot in 45 minutes. The steep road that leads down to the beach is lined with typical tavernas.

Two levels. Main level: There is a large, modern, open plan kitchen with stainless steel built-in appliances and stained wood cupboards. It is equipped with a dishwasher and microwave. The adjacent dining room is furnished with a large wooden dining table. French doors lead out to a terrace that runs the length of the house. One step down from the dining room, there is a sunken, open plan living room with corner fireplace, built-in sofa, and French doors leading to the swimming pool and terrace. There are four spacious, comfortable bedrooms. On the main level, a small hallway just beyond the entrance leads to a double bedroom with exposed beam ceilings, a large closet, and French doors that lead to the terrace. There is a bathroom with shower located next door. A staircase leads down to the lower level bedrooms. Lower level: Along a hallway, there is one twin-bedded room and two double bedrooms. Each of these three bedrooms has an en suite bathroom with shower and French doors that lead to the terrace that runs the length of the house. Each bedroom terrace area is furnished with a table and chairs and offers privacy. The amenities include: barbecue, satellite TV, DVD player, PlayStation, stereo, CD player, dishwasher, microwave, and housekeeping [3 times per week, along with linen change.] Additional amenities for which there is an extra cost include: pool heating [advance notice required], partial transfers [includes pick-up at Skiathos airport, transfer to Skiathos port, and ferry tickets to Skopelos or Alonissos; 30 Euros per person]; full transfers [includes pick-up at Athens airport, transport to Agios Konstantinos port, and boat tickets to Skopelos or Alonissos]; cribs, high chairs, and extra beds.

  Enjoy it. We had a fabulous experience, this coming from a group of 9 people ranging from all ages, the youngest being 15.
  
  The view was magnificent overlooking the bay. The sea sparkled with the radiance of the sun in the morning and in the evening the water looked like it was gently falling asleep on a bed of misty blue glass. It was indeed an image that will remain in our minds forever. The inside of this home was impressive with 12 foot ceilings, at least, and a very comfortable and pleasing design. The kitchen had all the contemporary amenities and there were ocean views from practically every room.
  
  Everything about the property met all our expectations with the exception of some minor inconveniences. It was somewhat difficult to keep water from splashing out of the shower stalls and we encountered a slight problem with ants. However, given the rustic location of this otherwise perfect villa, it was not too difficult for all of us to overlook a few imperfections. Suggestions would be to first spray using the hand shower, turn off the water, lather with soap and finally rinse. It is much easier to maintain some neatness while controlling the direction of the water. The ants are a product of the environment, but if the counter tops are kept clean and there is no exposed food left out anywhere, it is very easy to manage.
  
  What's not to enjoy in this Greek Island paradise? The pathway leading down to the sea side shops and restaurants were laced with ancient stepping stones, pure white cottages with variations of colored shutters wrapped around windows adorned by fragrant flower boxes.

  Overall a very comfortable and nice place to stay.
  
  The view was amazing, we had a clear shot of the town, hillside and entire harbor. It was secluded and we definitely felt we had privacy and the ability to relax. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware, dishes, appliances, etc. Our local representative, Henriette was extremely nice, and helpful with taxis, island info, etc.
  
  The bathrooms were small and dark and the showers were not enclosed so the entire bathroom got soaked anytime someone took a shower. The house was not well supplied with such items as toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher detergent. We had to buy them. The cost for heating the pool is high, but the pool heater did not seem to work property. After two days, we just asked the reps to turn it off. There was no noticeable difference in the pool's temperature after they turned off the heater.
  
  The island is beautiful, very nice beaches all within scooter distance. The harbor is full of tavernas and coffee shops. We also hiked to several monasteries.
