The spacious deck overlooking the river is perfect for enjoying the Skykomish- you can practically cast a line while relaxing in the hot tub. The interior of this 1450 square foot home has just been updated with new floors and paint, and furnished with your comfort in mind. The living area with leather furniture is focused around the propane fi...replace and picture window looking out towards the water. The dining room comfortably seats 6, ideal for celebrations and holiday meals.

The master bedroom has a queen bed, and an adjacent den area with a full futon. Stairs lead to the attic room, furnished with 2 twin beds and sure to be a favorite hang-out for the kids. Pets will love it here too, and for outings that do not include them there is a covered kennel area adjacent to the house.

  Beautiful location, disappointing rental

  We recently stayed at this river front cottage for a week with our sheltie. The location is quite wonderful as the back decks face the lovely Skykomish River. The place is away from the highway and in a beautiful setting of trees so it is very quiet and secluded. During our stay we found three great hikes to waterfalls and historical railroad sites. There is a small store minutes down the road for essential amenities but the closest grocery is in Gold Bar, a fair drive away. Our real disappointment came after staying at the cottage a couple of days. Although the basics are provided, the general condition of the rental is not good. Linens and towels were old and worn. Light bulbs were burned out. Exterior back doors were dirty with peeling paint. Window screens are ripped. Kitchen was stocked but poorly organized. Some furnishings were nice but the leather couches were uncomfortable and sagging, and coming apart at the seams. Baseboard trim in the main bathroom is rotting because of water dripping off the toilet tank. Someone is just not keeping things in good repair. We figure this is mostly a winter rental and skiers might be more forgiving if they spend little time inside and nighttime in the hot tub. The fenced outdoor enclosure advertised as available for use as a kennel is actually a garbage/recycle spot and it has not been cleaned for a long time. We could not imagine putting a dog in there. Sadly, we cannot recommend this rental to anyone based on our experience. There are hundreds of rentals in the area competing for business and we will choose another in the future.

  We do wish you would have contacted us during your stay so that we could have helped to remedy some of these situations. We would have loved to bring you some additional fresh linens, and let you know where the extra lightbulbs are located within the home. We did inspect the toilet, and it does happen that condensation occurs when it is warm out, however we did not find any malfunction, and the trim is brand new. This home was remodeled just a year ago, has new paint, new floors, new kitchen everything (dishes, glasses, etc), and the linens and towels are less than a year old.
