Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
You might ask yourself how this flat could have so many 5 star reviews, but it' true. It is very clean and well furnished. You need to consider where you are going. If you want a five star hotel setting this is not for you but as far as apartments/ flats you can't go wrong. This is Malta not la. Not a lot of living space but if like us you are out seeing the sites that is not an issue. Only down side would be that the floors were kinda cold but then it was winter when we stayed and we were to cheap to run the heat. Bring some slippers. Be sure to check the location out because its in a residential area not on the beach. This was not a issue for us. It has a lift, wifi is available at an extra cost.I hope we can come back to Malta and stay longer then a week. This is where we'll be if its available. Dorianne was very helpful. I only wish our flat in Gozo was as nice.

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We rented this apartment for a weekend in order to run the Malta Marathon along with another family. The location was ideal, walking distance to both St. Julians waterfront as well as the Sliema waterfront with ferries to Valletta. Dorianne is a great hostess, provided a driver to take us from the airport / ferry to the apartment which was very helpful with late arrival. The apartment is well laid out, clean and she even provided snacks and a bottle of wine for our arrival. There is even a lift to reach the 3rd floor so accessibility is no problem (no need to climb lots of stairs). Communication was great prior to our arrival, and the trip went very smoothly (including the run itself). All in all, I would highly recommend this apartment rental to anyone looking for a great Malta experience, either for a quick weekend or a longer stay. Thanks so much Dorianne for a great time and we hope to see you again in the future!

A friend and I recently spent a month in this apartment in Sliema and had a marvelous stay. The apartment was comfortable, clean, well appointed and well maintained. The roof-top patio was delightful. Fortunately the apartment was away from noisy main roads but only a short walk to the ocean. Shops, restaurants and public transport were all close by. Dorianne, our host, met us on our arrival with a warm welcome and had left food and wine in the fridge. She stopped by every week with fresh linen and provided very helpful local information. She was also readily available to answer questions by phone and e-mail.

West MidlandsLovely apartment in good location
Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed in this apartment for 11 nights in June 2012. The apartment was immaculate when we arrived clean and tidy throughout and decorated to a high standard. There was a welcome pack of food including a bottle of wine to get us started and means you don't have to rush out on your first night for food. All possible amenities are provided for above and beyond I have ever had staying in other apartments including travel adaptors, tourist leaflets etc.
There is an en-suite shower room and a balcony to the main bedroom which has a king size bed and a bunk bed with a fold out bed in the second bedroom. There is plenty of storage space in the rooms. There is a also a main bathroom to the apartment. The kitchen dining area is comfortable enough for a family of 4 to cook and eat.
On the top floor there is a private terrace with a barbecue which is lovely to relax on at the end of the day. There is also a laundry room here. Air con is a supplement but is very reasonably priced and we only spent a few Euros a night even with continual use throughout the nights.
I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. The owner, Dorianne, is very responsive always replying to e-mails quickly and giving any advice on where to go etc. She also organised taxis to and from the airport for hassle free arrival and departure. The apartment is in a quiet street and all the locals are friendly. It is only a 10 minute walk from St Julians Bay with plenty of restaurants and a 15 minute walk in the other direction takes you to Sliema Ferries where you can go on island cruises, hop to Valetta or get buses around the island.
I have never given any accommodation I have stayed at 5/5 in every respect but this apartment really deserves it. It is suitable for all visitors families with young or old children, couples or friends. If I went back to Malta I would definitely stay here. It is the best holiday apartment I have booked. -

Myself and my boyfriend have just returned from our holiday in Malta. We booked with Dorianne for this apartment and we cannot be more pleased with our decision. From the start, she was very helpful with the booking and the price was very reasonable. When we arrived there was a car waiting for us and the same to bring us back to the airport. Dorianne was at the apartment to greet us and show us around.
The apartment itself is perfect. Very clean, everything provided. Even bread, milk, ham, cheese, tea/coffee and wine on arrival for settling in. There is all the cooking utensils you'll need and appliances. There's TV, a DVD player and Wifi. Loads of brochures about Malta as well which was really helpful. The roof terrace is lovely with a BBQ and a view over the area.
The location of the apartment was on a quiet street up from Balluta Bay, and a few minutes walk to the sea, restaurants, shops, right in between Sliema and St. Julian's/Paceville. All the buses you need to go all over the island are on the bay and the views are amazing.
I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone, it suits kids, families, couples both young and old. It really made our stay in Malta perfect. -

Left on 02/06/2012 for a stay in June 2010
My sister and I travelled together and stayed here at the Chesterfield. We felt safe. There is a lift to the apartment and when we walked in we though wow...Spotless clean and homely. There was food and drink left for us which was brilliant as we arrived very late. The location was perfect for us. We took a different route back every day. The main bedroom had a balcony an en-suite and was really large, bright and airy. The second bedroom was a good size and had bunk beds. The main bathroom was huge and beautifully decorated. There was a small shop across the road that sold every kind of food and drink you would need. Sliema and St Julians are both walking distance and there are regular buses into Valetta from both places. I would not hesitate to stay here again and am already planning my next trip. If you stay here you will not be disappointed. Dorianne is a wonderful lady and always willing to help. She even called us during our stay to ensure we were ok which was a nice touch.

Misgav, IsraelPerfect base for exploring Malta and Gozo
Left on 01/14/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We spent a glorious week at this apartment in January 2012. The apartment which is brand new and immaculate, suited us (a mature couple) perfectly. It is situated in a very quiet little residential street, within a few minutes walk of the shops, restaurants, and bars. In one direction, it is a 5-10 minute walk down to Balluta Bay (St Julians) for shops and buses, or 10-15 minutes in the other direction down to the Strand in Sliema. It is an easy walk up the hill from the shops, even with a full backpack full of groceries! Dorianne (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful. Check-in (and check-out) were both quick and simple. We arrived to find the frig stocked with some basics to get us started, including milk and a bottle of wine! The apartment is spotless (trust me, my wife can spot dirt at 50 meters in the dark). The apartment had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay - a spacious bedroom (with a great little balcony where you can sit out and enjoy your morning coffee in the sun), a second bedroom (which we didn't use), and a practical kitchen with all the necessary tools and accessories. There is also a lovely roof-top (with barbecue), which would lovely in warmer weather. The apartment included satellite TV, so you can watch the news in any language that you want. Quiet air-conditioning in all the rooms, which we used to warm the place up when it got a bit chilly in the evenings. Dorianne was in touch with us during our stay to make sure that everything was OK - nothing was too much trouble for her. I would certainly recommend this place without hesitation - even to my best friends - a perfect base for exploring Malta and Gozo!
(Just a comment about Malta: the people everywhere were so helpful and kind - I hope that Malta doesn't change, and keeps its really special character.)

Left on 11/24/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We stayed here in November 2011 for eight days. The owner met us at the nearest bus stop (only a few minutes' walk away at Balluta bay) and showed us the way. She also presented us with a whole basket of (very welcome) food items, including a bottle of wine. The flat was more than big enough (for the two of us) and had all the facilities one might expect. The location is good - a residential neighbourhood which has good transport links (Arriva permitting) to Valetta and other parts of Malta. You can get to St Julian's quarter easily on foot or by bus and you will find plenty of restaurants there. We often went to Valetta to eat - a tip: seek out the "King's Own Band Club", it might not look like much at first sight but the food is good and reasonably priced (go for the bragioli) - and the service was very friendly. In summary, the flat was the perfect choice for us. It would also suit a couple with children - we didn't use the second bedroom. We would certainly try to book it again if we were to return to Malta in the near future.

What a lovely place this is, immaculate well looked after and couldn't ask for a nicer host. Dorianne rang during our stay to make sure everything was ok, which is was. She had provided us with meat, cheeses, bread & more importantly Maltese wine(what a great start)this was such a lovely touch especially if you don't know the area or where the supermarkets are. We particularily enjoyed the roof terrace where we sampled somemore maltese wines at the end of most evenings. I would recommend this apartment to anybody without hesitation. Thanks Dorianne!!!

Small but extremely well equipped appartment for anyone wanting a self-catering holiday.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful or thoughtful. They arranged for a driver to collect us at the airport and supplied a welcome basket of basic foods for our Sunday arrival.
All the basic storecupboard items provided: salt, oil, sugar vinegar etc.
Laundry room extremely useful for longer stays.
The only negative might be the en-suite which is very creative but not suitable for the more ample visitor. However, the main bathroom is more accomodating.
Very clean and inviting. -

Left on 07/27/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This was a really nice apartment close to the old heart of Sliema and also a short walk to the ferry (about 10 min). We stayed here with 3 kids 14, 12 and 10 and found the apartment clean, tidy and very comfortable. Recently renovated all the fittings and funriture are in great condition and there is a private roof top balconey with tables, chairs, BBQ and laundry. With only 3 apartments in the block (and only 2 completed) we felt like we had the building to ourselves. Dorianne was an excellent host filling the fridge with snacks such as bread, cheese, butter, ham, wine etc prior to our arrival. Wireless internet was great (at small additional cost) and the flat was fully airconditioned which did cost extra as per the meter on the wall but this only added up to about 30 euro for the week.

We stayed in this well-maintained apartment over the 2011 Easter period and honestly, it was like being at home.
The owner Dorianne, thought of everything to make our stay comfortable - simple things, like providing breakfast items during our stay, having a powerful hairdryer for the ladies (most important!), soap dispensers in the bathroom, an umbrella... it's all these small luxuries that make your stay memorable.
In terms of location, it was a short 5 minute walk to the waterfront, public transport and really good restaurants.
We would definitely be happy to stay here again! -

It was our first visit to Malta, we stayed 3 weeks. I wasn't sure what location to pick, so I thought Sliema would be central. This apartment was perfect! Just between Sliema and St. Julians. The waterfront, bus, restaurants, etc. just a few minutes walk. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The neighbors very, very kind. The apartment itself was pristine, every detail attended to. The owner is just a phone call away if you need anything, which you probably will not. She was great to help me get concert tickets before our arrival. You will not be dissappointed with the selection.

The thing you notice straight away is that it is immaculately clean and well kept. The living room is part of the kitchen so not huge with a two seater sofa but for those who want to be out and about exploring the island this won't be a problem. In better weather you would probably spend time on the roof terrace just one small flight of steps up from the apartment - it's for your exclusive use. The masterbedroom has a balcony too - plenty of room for two or three chairs - there is also a standing-room balcony off the kitchen so plenty of outside space. The owner arranged a taxi and was there to greet us with a big smile, ham, cheese, bread, milk, bottled water, teabags, coffee plus a bottle of Maltese wine - so considerate and at no extra charge. We had a small problem with the hot water in the shower but one call to the owner sorted it - her husband came round and we got a friendly phone call to confirm it. There is a small (local people's) social club outside the apartment but the only noise was good natured laughter from kids and adults. A local restaurant has just opened and is really charming - just a hundred yards away for when you fancy staying slightly off the beaten track and being treated like royalty at a really affordable price. All these years travelling around the world and we've never had a serious mishap - but that changed in Malta. My husband slipped on some algae and broke his wrist in three places. The owner of this apartment had new people coming to stay but recommended another apartment. Their kindness was so welcome - keeping in touch to see if we were okay and offering their support when I was totally stressed out. We went to the state hospital in Malta which is wonderful - he was operated on the next day and we flew back two days later than planned - grateful for travel insurance which we haven't had to use thus far. He's making a good recovery. I'm fussy, I admit it and have never given quite such a glowing review but you'll see for yourself if you go.

AustraliaFantastic apartment in a Sliema Malta
Left on 01/21/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We are a family of 4 adults and have just spent 19 days in this apartment. Dorianne was a fantastic host, she arranged for transport to and from the airport, greeted us at the apartment, showed us where everything was located in the apartment, then took the time to walk us around a few streets to get to know the area. The welcome package provided was unreal (ham, bread, butter, several types of cheese, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, crackers, wine, fresh fruit) hopefully I haven't forgotten anything. Dorianne provided all of this at no extra charge and it was a great help as we were tired from travelling and didn't want to venture out to far. I'm not aware of any place providing such hospitality. Dorianne was always on hand if we needed advice for anything. The apartment was spacious and the roof top provided a beautiful advantage point to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve. A BBQ and table and chairs up on the roof top made it a nice place to sit having a glass of wine whilst cooking. The apartment has an ensuite and bathroom which came in handy with two adult daughters! The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessities for staying a long time as we did or a short stay. Not more than 50 feet from the front door was a corner store that had everything you need. Resturants/ shops/ buses are only 5 mins away in beautiful Balluta Bay or if you want to venture in the opposite direction and walk 15 min you have Sliema waterfront with heaps of resturants and more shopping. We would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay near all facilites but still have peace and quiet and enjoy living like a local.

From the pre-visit contact, to the "welcome pack" (certainly more than what was anticipated!) in the fridge, to the final goodbye ... this place was truly homely. Situated between St Julian's and Sliema, the location was perfect. On the street there is a convenience store (where they are only too happy to help), and a short, 5minute walk into St julian's you will find the larger supermarket who stocks fantastic items at even better prices. The locals in the street will make you feel at home, and Dorianne the owner is just magnificant! She is only to willing to help with any questions, concerns and queries and is truly commited to ensuring you have a wonderful holiday in her place. The Unit comfortably fitted 4 adults that stayed there, and a 5th wouldn't have been a problem. Having access to our laundry was fantastic (and certainly a money saver as you dont have to go to the laundromat each day!). The kitchen and the BBQ were used every day and made it feel more homely. We would recommend this place to anyone and everyone (in fact ... we already have started!!!). You won't be disappointed :)

Left on 12/12/2010 for a stay in December 2010
Dorianne, the apartment owner couldn't be more helpful. I arranged the booking by e-mail, and she was very quick in responding to all my queries. She was available on the phone to sort out any queries, and even popped over to show us how to work the TV.
The apartment is clean and really well equipped for self catering. Unfortunately it was too cool to use the roof terrace and gas barbeque in the evenings, but in the summer that would be great. The bedrooms and bathrooms are furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. Everything you need is provided.
It is in a very convenient location, a quiet residential street in Sliema. Five minutes walk to Balluta Bay in one direction and ten minutes down to the bus terminal and ferry in the other.
There is virtually no traffic as its a narrow one way street, of mainly old town houses, and the only real activity is a small social club over the road. There are a few small corner shops nearby and a supermarket at Balluta/St Julians. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and I think a few bars although unfortunately I didn't get to try any!
I think it would be a bit of a squeeze with five people. One room is double en suite and the other has two bunk beds. This room also has a camp bed but that wouldn't leave much room to move about. The dining table seats 4-6, but the living area is quite small (smaller than it looks in the photo) with only a two seater sofa, so its maybe not ideal if you plan to stay in a lot.
I don't know if we were particularly lucky with the weather but it was sunny all week (first week in December). A couple of days were cooler due to the wind but several days were really warm. Malta is very friendly, lots of places of historical interest, and I would recommend it as a destination.Response from Dorianne Micallef - 12/13/2010
Owner
Hi Inge,
Thanks for your review. I really appreciate your comments.
I just want to make some points clear.
If you look at the photos once again, you see that the living area is furnished with a 2 seater sofa and a large pouffe.
Unfortunately due to wear and tear the pouffee needed adjustments and since you were going to be only 2 persons, (and the 2 seater has ample space for 2 persons) we thought that this was the right time to do the repairs.
Infact as soon as you left we returned the pouffee back to its place. You could have told me personally that you needed more comfort in the living room, but unfortunately when I called you in the middle of your stay to enquire if everything was to your satisfaction, you said that everything was great at the apartment. If I knew that you needed more comfort, I would have brought the pouffee immediately.
Just for your information, I had many guests in the apartment that had young children and even babies and they were very satisfied with the apartment. You could see this from the excellent 5 star reviews that most of them posted both on this website and on others.
Thanks once again for your comments.
Regards to you and to your mum.

Our family (2 adults + 1 child) have spent one week in this apartment in October 2010 and we highly recommend it. As it was our first visit to Malta and despite good recommendations on this site, we where not quite sure what to expect. However, Dorianne's hospitality, warmth and welcome approach made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment exceeded our expectations and it got everything we needed. We really felt as it was our own home in Malta.
We will absolutely recommend it as the first-rate choice in terms of facilities, location and value. After staying in this apartment we have spent several days in 3-star hotel in Xlendi, Gozo and can honestly say that Dorainne's apartment was much cleaner, better equipped and 3-times as spacious as the hotel room whilst being twice less expensive.
Dorianne, thank you for the excellent holidays!

On our arrival we were greeted by Dorianne (the owner of the apartment), a warm and thoughtful lady who had kindly supplied a (very welcome!) welcome pack of groceries (as it was sunday) for our convenience. This added a homely touch to the apartment which is spacious, airy, well equipped with stylish decor and very efficient air conditioning (if required). Both the kitchen and bedroom have doors leading onto a small balcony - which was a pleasant suprise for us as this was not evident on the website - and it was lovely to have the option of sitting out with a drink or having the doors open with a cool breeze blowing through the apartment. The rooftop balcony (larger than appears on the website) was a delight to sit out on in the evenings and being in the maltese neighbourhood with the charm and character of the old buildings made our stay all the more enjoyable. The apartment is excellently situated for balluta bay and St julians which is particularly pretty at night.
We were very impressed with this apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dorianne's extra touches made all the difference as she obviously cares about providing her guests with a memorable and comfortable stay which we certainly had. We would definitely recommend this apartment and stay here again if ever we return to malta. -

We were in a fantastic apartment in Sliema, so modern and clean. in a few minutes walking to Balluta Bay and St Julians, so confortable apartment and nice people around (every morning you will have a "Good Morning"). we stayed there in sept and for us it was not necessary air conditionet, fresh air at nights with the windows and balcony opened.

I arrived in Malta for the first time, for 12 days, accompanied by 4 friends, myself and one other from England, the other 3 from Belgium.
First thing to note is the apartment is modern and beautifully decorated. Each room is air conditioned at a small extra price (We payed €4 each at the end of the holiday). Everything is very clean, lots of towels provided and everything else you could possibly need!
The apartment was cleaned for us half way through our holiday with towels and linen changed which proved very helpful!
The apartment has a stunning rooftop area which we used every night. It has a table, chairs, and a very nice gas BBQ which we used more than once on the holiday. We sat here most evenings before going out as it gives a stunning view of the sunset.
Also in the apartment is a separate laundry room with washing machine, ironing board + iron, and drying rail. Detergents were also provided and instructions for use (for the more dim-witted like myself!).
The location is also very nice, a 5 minute walk to the seafront, 10-15minutes to main Sliema with bars and restaurants and 15-20 minute walk to Paceville, the main stretch of clubs in Malta which are great fun. Nice and quiet during evenings also for people with children.
Dorianne is a fantastic host and was always available had we any problems. I can't thank her enough for an incredible holiday.
Overall, the apartment is spacious, comfortable, very reasonably priced and in a great location. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone!
We will definitely be coming back next year, if money permits. -

This is a beautifully presented, modern, clean apartment in a superb area for easy access to Sliema and St Julians. Although the location of the apartment is very quiet, it is only a short walk to all the amenities, like restaurants and bars.
Dorianne was a most helpful and welcoming host, and I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment. -
