Take a short detour off the hustle and bustle of the main drag to the serene and beautiful Cave Spring Farm. This 17 acre Country Estate, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a perfect getaway for nature lovers and history buffs.
Our guest cabins are conveniently located 10 miles North of Bowling Green just off Interstate 65 and less than 10 minutes from Mammoth Cave National Park and the Smiths Gove antique shops district. Other nearby attractions includes the Corvette Plant and Museum, Bowling Green’s Historic Hobson House, and Shaker town at South Union.
Pioneer Log Cabin
This is an original 1830 log... cabin with all of today’s modern conveniences, including TV and air-conditioning. The cabin has two gas log fireplaces on the main floor and a large kitchen and living room. Upstairs are two bedrooms (one with a queen bed; the other with two full beds), and a full bathroom featuring a whirlpool tub and shower. Outside are a long front porch and a large wraparound deck which affords a tranquil sanctuary and view of the woods and Nature Preserve.
Exclusive to the Cabin in the Woods Retreat is private access to the beautiful and serene State Nature Preserve. This is a restricted nature habitat only available for our guests’ enjoyment, and University research staff. Here you will find nature at its best! With hiking trails, lush floral displays and stately old world forest trees, this is a great place for bird watching. Relax on your private deck, surrounded by the forest; yet you are only minutes away from restaurants, shopping, and parks.
Bill, the owner of Cabin in the Woods Retreat, rescues horses from a past history of abuse and neglect. Now thriving, they enjoy a well-deserved life of tranquility on the farm. Our horses are very friendly and like socializing with guests. Pet them and feed them a treat at our guest Horse Feeding Station.
